Has some image quality problems, but got FS running without AA and at 1600X1200X16. AA slowed it down so much, I've got fps locked at 20 and it's pegged there! Autogen etc is FULLY to the right! However, the IQ of the ground textures isn't too great. I think that AA helped with this, but I'll fool around with my scenery cfg file. If anyone has suggestions, please post them. Also am at -1.5 LOD, if that has anything to do with it and 8X aniso. JPEG ruins it a lot too.Thanks,

Windows XP Professional Edition Defrag has just erased FS2002!!!I ran defrag on my Hard-drive, as I usually do, to keep things running the best possible way, but was shocked to find out that the partition (D:) where I install my games to was practically empty. This is a 45 Gb partition and I had used about 6 Gb, between FS2002 and IL-2. When I checked, after defrag, it was a bit over 1 Gb used. IL-2 folder is completely gone, has for FS2002 about four folders survived...This leaves me deeply sad, because I

If I adjust the acceleration of my sound card, will it affect how stuff sounds? It was on full but I was getting a crackling noise in my games, so I turned it down, but now I am wondering if it will affect the quality of the sound, like if MP3's will still sound the same.

I'm trying to figure out how does the autopilot in the Beech and Cessna aircreaft in FS2002 work. I already made some short flights but I had to keep my hands in the commands at all time. Does anyone know a tutorial or something like that for these aircraft?Cheers!

I wonder if someone could (again) clarify the westbound/eastbound altitude rules.I was under the impression that all EB flights operate at odd altitudes while WB flights operate at even ones. But on a recent flight from Miami to Dallas, I distinctly remember the captain mentioning a cruise altitude of FL350.Do the odd/even EB/WB rules not apply above FL320 or something?GS

Just recently I noticed that every time I run AFCAD I have to reselect the FS2002 directory. Then when I tried to run TTools, it said "cannot locate FS2002 directory." This is totally strange for me, as I've never had any real problems with FS2002. The only thing that has happened recently was that I tried to use Bill Grabowski's EMB-120 panel with an old FSDS model, which caused FS to crash. Then when I tried to restart FS2002 it wouldn't work at all. To get it to work again I deleted the FS2002.cfg which apparently was corrupted, because it worked just fine after creating a new file. I dnlded DX9 BETA and did a fresh install of FS2002 PRO today.The results were unbelievable.Scenery MUCH NICER.The Archer 11 handles much more realistic. It is easier to fly.MS hit a home run with DX9.IMO.Jim Alcorn

I tired to use AITM to resize the radius on mike stone's B1900 and an fs2k 328Jet, both in skyway paint schemes. Well anyhow, then using AFCAD to put in gates and taxiways, I wanted to recreate the 14 spots on their ramp that skyway launches from at Milwaukee. I had the layout perfect but I couldn't get the 1900s and 328s to go into their spots and I also had GA airplanes in the spots. Has anyone done this successfully?

I'm considering picking up an Ariane 737-400 GMAX. I have a couple questions (already searched the forums):1) I went to the site (the Ariane Air Shop) and I only see 3 liveries available. Does anyone know where one can get a comprehensive list of 737-400Gmax liveries since you have to buy each livery separately, I want to be sure I get one I really want and can use a lot. Or maybe these 3 are the only ones available so far in GMAX. It doesn't HAVE to be GMAX. How are the non-GMAX ones. I just uploaded my first scenery project -- the Antelope Trail Ranch near Ketchikan, Alaska. It's a private bush getaway, complete with a 1500' strip, hangar and workshop. There's also a float hangar and a 2-br cabin for overnight stays. I thought any of you bush types might like to overnight there now and then! It's available in the file library now. I am generally aware of Wake turbulence procedures for departing aircraft. ie. On departure behind a big plane, rotate BEFORE the previous touchdown point and remain above the path etc etc.However, in light of the fact that Vortices sink and move laterally on the ground, is there any danger of experiencing Wake Turbulence when holding short for a landing Aircraft? Or if tower clears you to a "take position and hold" after a landing heavy, could you experience wake turbulence then?DGR

As I flew tonight from EGLL to ESSA, I entered and contacted Kobemhagen Cotrol at TUSKA insertion, on UN873. The controller then gave me a shortcut and recleared me direct to BAK VOR.So I went to the the GPS and pressed the D--> button and searched for BAK VOR, I got the heading and entered it in the autopilot HDG field. I then switched the AP to hold that heading.No problem so far, but as I then passed BAK VOR and wanted to continue on the filed/loaded flightplan my GPS was still expecting me to fly past MIKRO insertion (which was the next waypoint after TUSKA in my flighplan). This was a problem bacause I then had to fly the remaining legs "manualy" (whitout using NA…

Hi all... I was playing around last night trying to get the best panels available for the 737-700 and 800/BBJ installed with some aircraft, and am now trying to find the best sound file(s) to go with them. I've tried searching here & at flightsim, with no luck for a sound file specifically recorded from or designed for these jets.Any pointers to other sites, or perhaps a good approximation of the real thing? Maybe the XP Jetliner sounds?

Does anyome know how to get the landing lights on the FS2002 Pro Mooney Bravo to illuminate the runway? I have landing lights turned on in settings. The lights show up in spot plane view but not in cockpit view???I would appreciate your help.Pilot68

Picked up the DirectX 9 beta release and tried it out. I did not have to much of a concern as the beta sites were giving good reviews on the upgrade.My own look at it with FS2K2. I was running at about 14-17 fps. With the DX9 upgrade, 30 - 75 fps, depending on what plane I am using. Both of these fps are with everything maxed out. I have been very happy with the 14 - 17 fps but there is a difference in FS2K2 performance with DX9.Is there a difference? Oh ya, and it is very noticable. And yes, the graphics look better also. The one thing I have learned about FS2K2. Live with what you have and don't screw with settings such as, overclocking etc. If an upgrade to software …
