After having not been satisfied with Windows ME I decided to switch over to Windows XP Pro. I also installed a new soundcard (Soundblaster Audigy 2 Platinum). Everything works fine & stable except for my FS2002: It freezes instantly, sometimes already in the startup-screen, sometimes during the setup of a new flight, but always before I even can start the engines!I made a "clean" XP-install, no update!First, I thought the reason for my problems might be my old airplanes and sceneries (I simply copied them into my new installation folders). Hello all,For those of you still sitting on the fence about downloading and learning how to use Oleksiy's Dash 8, I encourage you to do it! The flight dynamics, sound package (wait until you hit the throttle and here the deep sound of those turboprobs and engines kick in -- it's exactly like you experience in real life), avionics, etc are first-rate! I fly in the real Dash 8 frequently, and I can assure you this sim is one of the best (if not THE best) of any download I have ever used. Does anyone run FS2002 with a LCD monitor? I am looking at a new system and stores seem to be pushing the new thin LCDs rather than the CRT types. Do the gauges and scenery look sharp and detailed - is the resoultion good? Any advice on size or brand? I am limited with my budget. Thanks. :-)

I have been receiving random dialog boxes during some flights saying something about missing scenery files. When the message appears on screen, FS pauses until I click the ok button to clear the box and my flight continues. I cannot remember exactly what the message says but it gives some numbers refering to a scenery section FS is unable to load. It is kind of a nuisance because if I leave a flight running and it pops up and I am not there to click on Ok, the flight is paused at that spot until the dialog box is cleared. I have not installed any new scenery files recently. Anyone who knows what this is about please help. Max

After installing Oleksiy Frolov's great Dash8-300 V1.001 ,download dh831003 im having the following problem.The aircraft and panels installed fine.I have gauges but they are inoperable.I can press the "L" key for lights and all the warning lights will flash and imediatly go out as well as a few on the main panel.At one time i had sound of the props turning and now i appear to have lost that.I have made sure to change the directory name on the file to Dash8-Q300_2 as I am using the FS AddOn Manager as per the FAQ on Oleksiy's website.I have attempted this install several times and have worked thru the 3rd party software error to get this far.Im not giving up!Any help will …

Hi all,I have just downloaded the new bonanza v35 from chuck dome, and I think it is very nice, it's got a nice 2D panel and a good virtual cockpit, and a small footprint on your hard drive (3.5MB).I am trying to do some new textures for it, but it seems when I try to give it reflection using an alpha channel it just makes it transparent.Is there anyway I can make it shiny?.Many thanksDan.

As a big fan of Posky's C-17 Globemaster, I was wondering if there was a Gmax version about or any plans for one?I read somewhere that the next release for FS is likely to confine itself to running Gmax models only. Whether or not I agree with this move (if it's correct) is a different subject, (I'd suggest a new thread if anyone can't resist :)) but personally, I'm trying to forward plan a little.Any info on the C-17 appreciated.

what do i have to name an aircraft to make it show up in the aircraft manager, i have several like the dash 80 in my files, but they don't show up when i change the aircraft in fs2002, apparently there must be some place else that controls this ???Ralph

This isn't a new problem for me but I finally thought I'd seek some wisdom form the good folks in this forum.Sometimes the AntiAliasing will work beautifully in FS2002 and other times the wings of the planes and pretty much everything else for that matter, look like a ripsaw! There just seems to be no rhyme or reason to it. When things look good sometimes all I have to do is bring up a menu and its gone again. I've tried several different drivers from 6.xx to 40.xx, (I have standby problems with any on the 30.xx and above drivers). Some work better than others. I aquired the Flight 1 Cessna 421 and I like everything about it except the major problem that I've got with the Garmin 530. Getting into the "Direct To" screen is no problem but when I start to type in the identifier, my system starts reading, the system freezes all but the mouse and then a minute later my whole pc crashes. I have bought the 3d glasses (never bought the ir tracker) and they sit and collect dust-I just found the flicker rate too much of a drag and didn't like running at lower resolutions.Another thing I have bought in the past collecting dust is a cheap web cam-at the time cost me $50 and I thought it would be a great way to video conference with family across the country-but for some reason-(perhaps scheduling conferences) it has also been pretty much collecting dust.Now Cam2Pan gives new life to Fs and my dusty camera for $9.95!
