for some reason, every time i shutdown the engines or start the APU while the engines are NOT running, i get a master caution and master warning light and bell every 30 seconds or so!i have read all the documentation i can on it, NOTHING is coming up!also, i still have not solved the mistery of the AOA indicator, seems to me like its useless, at least it doesnt work like the one in the REAL aircraft works!

Hi, I recently added new hard drive, more ram/memory and a new graphics card to my computer. However I notice that I seem to have lost the good stero sound of my system. I went to the sound tabs and made ajustments, but it really has not changed the quality of sound. Can someone give me any ideas on what I can do to fix this? Thank you, S.

Well, if any of the folks "in the know" would like to help... I need it pretty bad. :-)I've actually got a couple of questions, both of which will demonstrate my ignorance, but... hey... live and learn. :-)First, while at cruise altitude (let's say 14,000), what should the setting for the prop pitch be (approximate)? It seems that I always get the best performance when the prop levers are at 100%. Obviously, the mixture had to be leaned for maximum efficiency at this altitude. But reducing the prop pitch simply makes the speed go down, and reduces fuel consumption as well. I'm just a bit confused as to what the function of it is. If I wanted to reduce speed and fue…

Hi everybody,(1) I would like to know what are the minimum system specifications for FS2002 to display shiny textures. Mine is a P3, 450 MHz, 4 MB AGP card, SIS 6326 machine.(2) All my gmax aircraft display black textures. The only way I can bring them to life (without all the shine and reflections) is to create mip-maps OR by converting them back to 16 bit or 8 bit textures. Is there a better way?(3) Is it true that not all graphic cards display the DXT textures properly? I have Direct X 8 on my system.(4) I am currently operating on windows 98 platform on a VGA monitor. It supports a maximum of 24 bit true colour. But I have read in some threads of screens running…

Having felt a bit ill all day and not really wanting to go out I decided to purchase the Iron Knuckle DC9. You have to be good to yourself sometimes.I haven't got a working printer so i couldn't print out the POH...But wanting to fly this baby I read the manual and well basically tried my way and after a lot of frustrating attempts, loosing the electricity and setting of the alarms I got it right. I downloaded the really nice scenery from the Mosher brothers and made a flight from KJFK to Halifax. My mom used to fly the Dc9 for SAS, well as an attendant, but her little boy sometimes got to sit upfront and suck in the impressions. This particular flight felt good. Some f…

I just bought a new computer with Microsoft XP as the operating system. I read an article saying that FS 2002 runs great on XP. My one problem is every once in a while I will be flying and the ATC text box dissapears. I can still here the voices, but I have to go to the ATC icon in the cockpit to bring it back up. I never had this problem with my old computer which had Millenium as the OS.I have reloaded FS 2002 once and it still is doing this every once in a while. Just was wondering if anyone else has experienced this, and what could be causing it.

I just purchased and installed the 3D Glasses from E DImensional, and I must say that this is one of the best addons for our hobby to come around in a long time, and I have been an FS fanatic since FSII in 1984.I have NO financial interest in this, but ever since FSFORUM on Compuserve I have always shared my excitement with new products.Using the 3D Glasses in the virtual cockpit with the head latency turned up is truly an unbelievable experience. The cockpit really has depth, esecieally with the yoke and throttle movements, and those AI aircraft soar right by you.Enjoy-Howard

Perhaps it's just that I have yet to be enlightened by a really good VC, but from what I've seen so far I find that VC's detract from the simming experience. In a VC I always feel that I'm looking for something - looking for a switch, looking down at a instrument, looking left at the runway, back at the horizon, left at the runway and so on. True, this is the way it works in the read world, but in the real world my neck is a much better "UI" then the hat on top of my joystick is. I would rather see developers focus on detachable sub panels and exterior views that fit well and work well when spanning across monitors and across PC's. On a single-monitor single-PC system…

When I boot up FS2K I always get the error dialog about whether or not I want to run FSUIPC or not. Is there any way I can modify the .cfg file to include this exe as part of booting up FS2K?

Hi Guys,My new computer is being assembled next week and I'm planning not planning on NOT utilizing a Sound Blaster card (like the one on this machine). The ASUS motherboard has an integeral sound capability and the only sounds I'm intereste in are ATC and engine noise (I use my Hi Fi for music).Do I really need a separate sound card for FS2002 (and beyond)? I'd appreciate your experienced advice.Thanx, John

Just wondering if Iron Knuckles DC9 have wing views from cockpit view? Can you see the wings from inside the cabin? It looks like a great plane!! I've always flew the DC-9 US Airways from Rochester, New York to Boston in the late 1990's, the time I went to college in Rochester. I love the DC-9!Brian

Oh shoot :-)giving away free planes like this, is going to break ME. What do I mean, it means I will be forced to buy your next plane whether I like it or not. That is why I bought the DreamFleet 737. I don't fly jets, at least not much, but I had to buy it simply because of the great freeware products they gave away.Of course if you guys even come close to the SF260, I can't imagine me, or anyone else not liking it.Please Please post when the C172 is done, that will become my default plane, guaranteed.

Hey guys, any ideas on an aircraft with a great Virtual Interior? Been using active camera quite a bit and really enjoy walking down the isles and places other than the cockpit. Really enjoy the Dauphin, the VC twin otter, the Marchetti, the Robin, the new Gulfstream, all the FSD aircraft and the POSKY CRJ, any others that have virtual interiors I haven't seen yet? Would love a heavy with a virtual 'isle" to the back! Thankls, Michaelhttp://www.geocities.com/res052cd/cmhbanner.gif

I found a old Popular Mechanics magazine earlier today (September 1996) and it has a big X-plane (not the sim LOL, the 'mach buster' planes) article in it. Are any of these availible for FS2002? I'm mainly looking for the X-1, X-3, X-15, X-24, and X-31. I think it would be real fun to take these out for a spin LOL.Thanks for any help.

I had this happen twice. Something is changing some of the aircraft.cfg files when flying on the MS ZONE. This had never happened to me before, but in this last month. The airplaneI was flying was the Dash7-100 by Team 7 (but I think this is notthe source of the problems). Once I join the ZONE game all the airplanes listed below get changed, no flying is neccessary. I had this now fixed by overwriting the aircraft.cfg files with the original ones. I use WinXP (NO SP1) with locale set to Slovenian (where the . gets replaced with ,) but funny I never had this problem so far (a year), with the same config. Anyone else experiencing this?I figured out that the [fuel] entry get…

The appeal for funds for the restoration of the WORLDS LAST VULCAN BOMBER CAPABLE OF FLIGHT, XH558, has just hit a brick wall !!It is Alleged that the UK's "HERITAGE LOTTERY FUND" have now formally refused to assist in the project for what I believe to be very unsatisfactory reasons. The Vulcan To The Sky company have asked for a Miserable
