Hi all,I recently installed the new Adv display file. I've used it since version 1? and really enjoy it. It comes in handy especially for using Radar Contact.My problem with this new version is that the adv display window pops up on my 2002k pro start-up screen and proceeds to freeze up. If I hit the escape key, FS resumes and starts up. Not liking to do this every time, I deleted the .dll file from the modules folder but still get the same problem (freeze up, but, of course, no window). Now, I know that I could install an older version, but I prefer to stay up with the new.Can anyone help out with this problem? I also just installed the newest FSUIPC, if that's related, …

I'm still amazed how many don't use or haven't heard of TrackIR simply because I think once you've tried it, you will never go back. I know some people like the 3D glasses, but I didn't like them at all, but I don't know anybody who has tried TrackIR and was less than amazed. If you had a lukewarm reaction to TrackIR, I'd be interested to know. And, no, I am not connected to the company in the least.Some people said a few months ago that it was too expensive, but I bet most of those spent at least as much on other addons by now. I would rather have TrackIR and ONE addon plane (probably SF260) then every addon imaginable and no TrackIR. That's just me.David

Anyone tried it? It is so fast, I was getting 420 kbps in IE6, 480 in Netscape 7 and 750 in Opera 7 beta!! Some formatting seems to be a little off though, like in the post function the entry boxes are on the far right and not left.

For about a day now, I have been playing with the "Free" version of the ActiveSky weather program than can be found here on the Avsim Site. http://hifi.avsim.net/activesky/Comparing it to the default weather that can be downloaded from Jeppensen, I would say it is almost like night and day. Both do a good job but I believe the ActiveSky is more realistic especially since it "Constantly" updates the weather as you fly. Can anyone here help me with the following problems ?1. How do I zoom in and out using the external view ?2. How can I set up the cockpit views so that I can let go of the joystick hat switch ? For example, I would like to be able to look through the left cockpit window by clicking the joystick hat switch left, but I don't want it to flip back to the forward view when I let go !3. I would like to be able to set up an external view by simply pressing a SINGLE key, rather than cycling through several views. I have installed a scenery for EFHK because they now have a new runway in use. With the scenery came a AFCAD file.My problem is that I don' get the "slimegreen" thing from runway 04L/22R (the new runway) to show on my gps. I'm talking about the thing that shows there is a localizer at that runway. Anyway I did a full ILS landing and my aircraft captured the loclizer and glidslope. Peter - in response to your 'VFR on top in a 152' posts!Here are a couple of shots taken from a bridge over a stream on short final to Skagway Alaska. Interesting airport to say the least! THis is a rare straight in approach, as the conditions were calm. Usually, the wind is stiff, and off the ocean, so pilots use a very tight, chop and drop right circuit to land on the opposing runway.I have some aerial shots I took while giving a flight seeing tour near Whitehorse a few weeks ago - will post them as well. Hello - some help needed please!I've recently been tinkering with AI traffic, and now have some really busy Japanese airports - which looks good, altho a frame rate killer on my ancient machine!However, within 5 mins of the traffic starting up, Fs2002 freezes, and won't resumed - so I have to end task and start again.The only thing in my set up that has changed - is that I now use AI at 85%.Is this causing the crash? The other programmes I have open at the same time are FS Meteo and FS Navigator.My system is a Pentium 3, 866Mhz, 512 Mb Ram, Windows XP, Geforce 4 ti 4200 card with the latest detonator 4 drivers! Anybody know of a good SAAB 340 aircraft. Free or Payware?I really like this aircraft, provided the panel is GMAX or pretty realistic (Haven't seen a VC for a SAAB 340).. I was using the SOFTRIES (I guess that was it) and it kept bombing..Thanks!Barry

Hiya,After practicing some visual approaches I was wondering if in real life it was acceptable to set off the GPWS? If you were say too high on the visual in the latter stage of the approach and you increased the decent rate and got the 'sink rate' call. Is this acceptable?

I've searched FS sites and the net for information on the MD-87, specifically takeoff/landing flap settings/speeds, fuel burn, and landing flaps/speeds/weights. I was able to find MD-82 and -83 info, but nothing specific to the -87. Can anybody help me? I have been struggling with this problem for several months now. After I land one of the big jets in FS2002 and try to view my landing using the instant replay, the landing gear mysteriously retracts along with the flaps and the aircraft lands on invisible wheels. I have tried everything and nothing seems to work. Any suggestions? This is driving me crazy!! I have a Dell Dimension 8200 2.2 GHz P4 with 256k of RAM and an NVIDIA Geforce 3 Ti 500
