I am one of those that could never get my chpro yoke/pedals to work properly. The rudders had to be unplugged/plugged back in every time and then would stop working.Two days ago I upgraded my motherboard (and chip) to a Via kt400 Ga-7vax motherboard.The board has 6 built in usb connectors with usb 2.0.For the first time in 2 years everything works properly-including my other 4 usb devices!Amazing how a little thing like that made the upgrade cost (about $190 total for a new mb and 2100 athlon chip) all worth it.http://members.telocity.com/~geof43/Geofdog2.gif

Hi all :-)I saw the post on the front page about the Microsoft Flight Sim store, and it got me wondering....Personally, I wouldn't be seen dead in a hat or jacket or anything else which proclaimed to the world that I'm a flight simmer. Does anyone know of a way to start FS2K2 in multiplayer host from the command line? I would like to have a shortcut that automatically starts fs this way so I can get on line flying with fewer key strokes. (Actually I just d/l FS Quick Start and would like all of the fs programs to start up)Kevin

I downloaded this plane from the project's web site two days ago, but when I selected it for a test flight tonight I got some very strange visual artifacts which I have never seen on any other plane. I checked the aircraft.cfg file because I knew there had been an issue with the Socata that was somehow related to the CFG file, but my version was apparently okay.Anybody know what this is all about?Cheers,

Question for the PC gurus -- there is, and always has been, a problem with relative motion/perspective of speed in FS2002, and many other sims. As you approach the runway for landing, on very short final, and particularly as you cross the threshold, the sensation of relative speed as sensed by how fast you are passing over the ground is very variable, ranging from pretty good (say, in smaller planes such as the Baron, and particularly good in add-ons like Marchetti), to very poor, and this is particularly noticeable in heavy iron. I've started using two monitors: one for full screen 3-D view on top, and one for panel view only underneath. This works well with some planes (e.g. MS Cessnas, the SF260 or Nick's F-5) where the panel takes up the entire undocked window, but not with others (e.g. Jordan Moore's Huey, the Dash 7 or most Heavies) where the panel view is connected to other images that surround the 3-D view. When windows containing such panels are undocked, you get a wide, black space in the middle and it is impossible to move the panel up towards the top of the monitor to compensate. If I download an aircraft from AVSIM and install it in FS2002 then alter the AI flightplans using Flight Sim Add On Manager, some of the aircraft never seem to show up.Dose anyone know why this is and is there is anything I can do to rectify this. Some aircraft are OK, but others will never show up. Someone please help because its driving me mad!!!

Is it possible to change the view in any mode (cockpit, spot) with the Falcon 50 so that you can look out the plane from the passenger cabin? I've tried ctrl-enter and it doesn't work.

I am sort of a newbie at FS and would like some help so I can enjoy the sim to it's fullest extent. I am having trouble catching the glideslope and knowing exactly when to do what. I tend to fly CRJ's since they are smaller aircraft. I end up taking it down by hand but always land short and can never ever line up properly with the vectors ATC gives me. If somone can give a quick step by step approach to properly landing or direct me to a website that can help me out that would be great. There's no use in simming if you can't even land! Everytime I use ILS to align my a/c with the runway, it always aligns me a bit to the left, with some sort of paralel runway, so in my final approach I have to do some last minute manual correction. Why does it happen? I tried it with all sorts of possible combinations, winds on or off, rain, thunderstorms, yaw dampers on or off, more fuel, less fuel... and by rule I'm always "left" aligned.For my flights I use either the default 737 or my PIC/POSky 767, but I noticed it happened even with other aircraft.Can it be corrected?Cheers!

Hello all,I have used Pete Dowson's adv display in the past and just downloaded and installed the newest version 1.9.7.When starting FS2002 Pro and at the start up screen, the adv display window pops up and freezes the computer. Sometimes I can hit the escape button and the program continues to load. I don't recall having this problem in the past and was wondering if anyone else did/does. If there is anything else you need to know about my setup, please ask. Thanks,MikeBTW, I also have the newest version of FSUIPC installed.

After a fresh re-install I noticed I lost my sound tweaks and don't remember them. Now the background and AI sounds are very low .. . Does anyone remember the fs2002.cfg tweaks for the sound section? ANy help would be appreciated. Thanks

Is there any further news on the release date for the Wilco A320 PIC?? THe last I heard was that it was due for release early Nov. Hi,I am experiencing a weird problem, which I am pretty sure has to do with my ATI Radeon 9700. Whenever I play Flight Simulator 2002, about 20 minutes in to the gaming, a blue screen comes up. The blue is is all blue, with no text or anything. Just blue :( I cannot Alt-Tab or anything, and I have to reboot. I just now noticed .cabs are being used to store gauge files. I wondered if an "end-user" could bundle gauge files this way, and if so, how? From what I can tell however, this can only be done with .xml gauges and not .gau gauges?

Hi Guys,Was just wondering if it is possible to program Gmax planes to react to certain G Forces. For example, if a 747 exceeds 3G the wings really flex. Or vapor trails off the wings appear with +2G.Thanks,Alps and if it is possible are there any planes that do that?

NOTAM #1:A.On many systems (four of mine included) the key combination to adjust aileron trim seems not to work at all! The same is true of the rudder trim!However, I've found that applying a few degrees of left rudder will also level the wings and kill the counter-torque right drift.Turn off the numlock key, and use the 0 key to add left rudder, 5 to re-center the rudder, and Enter to add right rudder.Tapping the 0 key several times, and then waiting a few seconds for the a/c to respond, I was able to trim for straight and level flight with ease. In fact, even in 180/17 winds, I followed a 200 nm track with zero drift after trimming the a/c at cruise speed and altitude…

After installing scenery upgrades for two airports,Oklahoma City & Dallas/FortWorth,all airfields in the surrounding area,southern central Oklahoma and northern central Texas,have disappeared from the GPS screen and are no longer listed by ATC. Can anybody tell me how to replace them? I have searched the forum but cannot find a similar thread. I would be grateful for any assistance.
