This is probably a common occurance but I have noticed when in Virtual cockpit 3D mode I have higher frame rates and when in 2D the frame rates are lower. That's fine, my problem is when in the 3D mode I notice a lot of sound and video stutter, with all other views, no problem. Is there a fix to this, other than tweaking my card (GeForce 4 Ti4200 128mb). I am really happy with the hardware as is and was just wondering if someone knows of any reasons for this happening and what they may have done to solve the problem.Thanks,Tom

Guys, what an incredible airplane. It's hard not to think of this as the Freeware Aircraft of all time!! That's how great I think it is.Flying from EDDT-EDDK, with RC and ActiveSky, I'm dodging thundershowers with the radar, I'm amazed by the sound from this panel!!Now a quick question, I disregarded the wx radar, and flew close and through some precip. I'm not running FSFlightmax right now, so I couldn't confirm, but I am getting clicks through the panel. YES, just like in a real aircraft, I'm getting clicks and static due to what I think are lightining. I haven't seen lightining yet on this trip, but the precip is out there. I am trying to map my yoke's built in throttle to the spoiler axis - so far I have not made any progress. I have a CH Flight Yoke PC with a built in throttle, I also have a standalone CH Pro Throttle. I have FSUIPC installed, and I have tried mannually adding the following lines to my FS config file."AXIS_EVENT_07=AXIS_SPOILER_SETAXIS_SCALE_07=127AXIS_NULL_07=36" I still get no response from the built in throttle. I also tried assigning the axis in the FS assignments menu but the built in throttle does not seem to have an axis assigned. Just a couple of things I'd like to see...no more creapy crawly taxi ways and to speed up the AI planes during taxi and also to get them off the runway. Also, I've seen where they use two runways to land planes during busy times. It would be neat to look out and see a plane on final just like you only on a different runway.

Wouldn't it be great if FS9 had an internal benchmark mode like some of the other popular games? While the new 3DMark03 is getting pretty severely panned, it does have a flight simulator as one of its components. So it might prove useful for those of us eternal tinkerers who need a good benchmark for tweaking our computers.If only I could find a decent mirror to download the thing! I've tried every one of them, many more than most. Most are overloaded. Two I aborted because the speed was so slow. Two had good speeds, and then crapped out about half way through the downloads.Has anybody here managed to download a copy of 3DMark03?-Basil

Today EHAM will open it's 6th runway: 18R/00L(Previous 19R/01L will become 18C/00C)Question now is:Will LAGO update it's EHAM2002 to reflect this change?I tried to contact Matthijs Kok of LAGO a few weeks ago, but haven't had an answer yet. I don't know where else to post this, so here goes. Does anybody know of a site to get SIDS and STARS for outside of the USA. I know of sites for SIDS and STARS in JPEG form but it applies to USA airports only, I'm looking for the rest of the world airports. Thanks for any tips.Cheers, James

Could somebody point me in the direction of how to use this gauge.I can get the pushback part of it to work - press the P button , etcBut, adjacent to the P button is 2 green lights - which when clicked turn flashing yellow, etc -- music plays , sterwardesses talk , etc -- but I need some instructions on how to use the gauge properly.Any help much appreciated.Thanks Barry

I have a couple of questions:1. I have the usb ch flight yoke. I also have ch rudder pedals, the olderones. I have the working together and that is fine. has been working forabout 3 months now. Now all of a sudden they work fine until up at cruise andthen FS doesn't recognize the yoke or the pedals any more. What is causingthis and how do I fix it? I have the rudder pedals plugged into the old chvirtual pilot pro yoke. Again never had any problems until 3 days ago. I didreset the defaults in the assignments page. 2. I have tried downloading a couple of aircraft designed for FS2002 Pro, but I "only" have the basic FS2002 program. The aircraft externals are all there, as are the sounds, but the COCKPITS don't show up. Examples: Shigeru Tanaka's Beagle Bassets, Dave Garwood's Avro Lancaster.Is there a LEGAL way of obtaining whatever is missing, (without upgrading to FS2002 Pro ;-)? Any freeware/shareware tools or add-ons out there that would permit one to take advantage of the excellent work of designers who assume everybody's got FS2002 Pro?

HiI'm currently just going over the last of my flight revision before i take my a/c technical exam, and after reading about CG, stability etc through my book, i'm wondering how would one know whether they have exceeded the allowable CG limits for forward and aft BEFORE they takeoff?As a guess i would assume there would be some sort of guide lines you have to follow within the flight manual.CheersWill

Maury,After reading your review i am still left with a few questions that hopefully you might be able to answer or include with any future mentions of FS9.0. You mention that ATC is much improved. I just want to know if it's possible. I bought a nice pair of headphones for the computer last Sunday, and they have a built-microphone on the left earpiece. Is there any way that I can get FS to assign key commands to voice commands, with/without third party mediation?
