Hi! It seems that the announcement on the news page is still smoking fresh, because I've only seen one posting regarding FS9, as I will call it because "Flight Simulator - A Century of Flight" is too complicated for me ;)So what do you think? Realistic weather simulation with 3D clouds, improved ATC, clickable VCs, full color map, and two Garmin GPS devices. Sounds like they've been reading our postings :)Unfortunately the screenshots only show external views of the planes. I was not too impressed, looks just like FS2002 with maybe slightly more detail. But the current version is really strong regaring graphics, so I'm quite happy they seem to be focusing on the internals…

Has anyone tried it yet?

It looks like to me that the next upcoming version of FS use the same kind of CFS3 cloud engines and texture?I think it looks great. I love flying at a high altitude (33K to 35K on MD-80) and seeing CB clouds far in the horizon and try to fly toward to it would make it soo realistic just like FS98!Brian

HiCan someone comment on dx9 and its problems if any with fs22k.The reason I ask is because my lad got unreal2 for his birthday and it wont work.Someone has suggested that installing dx9 SDK retail will make all games run- BUT as I fly online I have seen earlier posts that say dx9 will mess up that?Any help appreciatedSun

Does anyone know how I can level-out Wilco's Airport A2V2 (KMIA) with FS2002? I have the scenery installed and it looks nice but the airport is at elevation 9.4 ft. & the runways are 11.2 ft. Needless to say I kick up quite a bit of dust when making the transistion between the two. I've downloaded all the users files I could find to make this airpot work but continue to have this problem. Any ideas?

I was looking at the screenshots very carefully but I want to know what you think the answer to...Do you see this screenshot and the arrow I made. I am very wondering if you fly toward to the end of the clouds (where the arrow points), will that be the end of the cloud layer or is it very similiar to FS2k2 that the overcast continues as you fly?

...MS stated that there will now be traffic at both controlled and uncontrolled airfields? If so just think of how much fun a low VFR flight will be now!! I can't wait to do a 172 flight in fs9 unless, which it should be the case, the Mooney now has a vc.Kilstorm

...about the money they spent on fs2002, yet people are complaining about the listed price for fs2004? I for one think the screenshots look great, look at the improved water lines for one. To all of the chronic complainers I remember when there were no clouds or textures in flight simming, just green lines representing mountains and the horizon line. Perhaps some would have prefered to see Microsoft throw in the towel and make an announcement that there will be no more FS from MS. Thanks Microsoft for providing flight simulation software with reasonable realism at a reasonable price, I'll be buying FS2004.

I'm rebuilding my aircraft fleet following a computer crash.The only one I haven't been able to capture, is the TWA DC-9-10 Double Globe livery from Project Freeware. As Project Freeware is no longer online (anyone know when it will return?), can someone direct me to where it might be available, or perhaps, send it to me?Thanks so much

I have the GFORCE 4 MX and my reflections do not show up on chrome a/c textures. THey appear gray. I found a fix on flightsim.com by Scott Jelinek and have to try it later, but I was curious if anyone has had this trouble and tried the fix and it worked. Can someone post screen shots that have the Gforce 4 MX. I also have a question on AEUPGRADE 3.0 doesn't show the grooves in the runway, I copied everything and started FS2002 from scratch and it still didn't work is this maybe caused by the reflections. I have everything to the max and have all my boxes checked and on tri liner filtering and mipmapping on.Please can someone help.ADAM [email protected]

hello,I was trying to control lights in MelJet 777 and I only get passenger cabin lights and logo light if multi-texture is on. More than that, I can't just turn on or off the logo light., when i turn the landing light on the passengers and logo turn on as well.Any idea about what is going on ?Thanks,ulisses

I have lost all runway/gate information for the UK and several European airports. In other words, when I am attempting to create a flight, the airport is listed but I cannot select a starting runway or gate. This seems to have happened after I installed a lightweight European mesh. I have tried to reinstall the airport information from the FS2002 discs and have deselected the mesh in my addon scenery but to no avail. Anybody have any insight why this might be happening or what to do about it? This happened to me once before with French Polynesia (again, seemingly after loading terrain mesh for the area). I fixed it by a total reinstall of FS2002 and it has not been a prob…

When I saw the first shots of FS2002, I thought ughhhhhh..... Meigs was surrounded by land, and scenery looked for lack of a better word, plain.It wasn't until the beta testers were released from their NDA's that I got a hint of the "quiet upgrades." One example of what I call a "quiet upgrade"--the rendering of lakes. Anyone flying over the Great Salt Lake in FS2000 would remember, that only the lake visible within ten or so miles was displayed. Here's my best guess as to the release date for the next version of MS Flight Simulator. We all know that release dates slip and if this one doesn't it will probably be the first in the history of software retailing. But I reckon December 17, 2003. And if you want to know why I think that, and you can't figure it out, you should be ashamed of yourself!:-)

Is there any way to remove the prop circle from Flight 1 Meridian? or even better replace it with another one, perhaps from one of the default aircraft. It seems Microsoft is the only one who has been able to creat a convincing prop effect from inside the plane. The meridian one looks pixalated and is annoying to look through from VC mode. Had the same issue with FSD's Cheyenne, but I could live with it since Im not looking through it.Rob

Just bought Airport 2002 vol. 1 from Wilco but FS2002 keeps freezing whenever I start her up. I have to use the CTRL+ALT+DEL keys to end FS2002 which is very irritating and it just keeps doing it over and over again.I have tried reinstalling it but it still freezes at the same point.Can anyone help. Thanks

After all the time I have spent customizing my AI flight plans I am praying that TTools and Afcad will be compatible with the next version. I don't think I can spend another 100 hours building flight plans..... ouch!!!!!!!

Hi,I have a GF4ti4200, AA off, texture sharpening on (4x). The ATC texts are only white and hard to read, anyway to improve the text quality in XP ?Another thing, when ATC sound starts I get a quick pause in flight, any solution ?Thanks,Ulisses
