Does anyone know what is the best flight planner to use with Radar Contact??? RC ships with a few planners but I don't know which one is the best to use.Thanks to anyone who can help.Les--

well folks I am saying goodbye for a while (actually a very long while) to this forum as I have grown bored of this hobby after playing with it for about a year and buying just about every add-on available. I came back to fs2002 after originally starting with fs98 ,playing with it for a year and then skipping fs2000 altogether only to come baCK to fs2002 so if this trend continues i will likely skip Fs2004 unless it is a quantum leap forward in many areas (which i doubt) so i will probably get back into the civilian sim world in 2005 when fs2006 comes out. until then I am going to get back into the military sim world which has always been my first love and like probably m…

Well.. it finally happened, and I knew it would someday... I had to remove my complete FS2002 installation and re-download everything. I gutted my PC and upgraded everything but at the expense of losing alot of files due to a bad backup file transfer (corrupted all my zip files).So.. anyway... to the point :)I never bothered with AI manipulation very much.. just a bit here and there. But one cool feature I had was renamed AI callsigns so they are relative to the coutry they fly from.Can anyone point me in the right direction to processing my current traffic.bgl so that I have better callsigns, not just North American ones?I guess AITM and TTools? I had hoped to find this answer in a search, but to no avail, tho I am certain it has been covered. After a recent bit of tweaking my nvidia Geforce2 MX400 I am satisfied with performance except that any lights, from radio towers, vasi, or even on my aircraft bloom into a block shape. How do I get back to a normal looking light? Thanks!Sherm

Is there a way to plant palm trees in locales that should have them, but don't? MS doesn't show palm trees in Florida, nor S California, nor Mexico (where I've been flying lately).Thanks for any advice!Rick

On some (not all) aircraft, +. will stop aircraft, but about one second later it will start rolling again. I've tried resetting default control options in FS,looking for parking brake in AirEd and aircraft.cfg, but can't seem to fing anything that might be set wrong. Can anyone help??Edited: Just reloaded the aircraft.cfg and .air file, and has corrected problem. Must have been a corrupted file. But I still would like to know what parameter to look for to correct in the future.Dave Hinson

I have recently been unable to access and download "REAL WEATHER" within MSFS2K. I think I may have accidently deleted one or more files that control this feature.I do not want to re-install the program from CDROM as I have too many add-ons and modifications installed over the past year and a half that I don't want to lose.QUESTION: Does anyone know the NAME OF THE FILE or FILES that control the downloading of real weather? Also, INTO WHICH FOLDER(S)do these files belong?My hope is to get this information and try to extract the pertinent file(s) from the CDROM and paste them into the appropriate spots on my hard drive. Still Loving FS2002 after all these Years. :)I've Been Into MSFS since FS4, and I have just taken myFirst ATC flight in the New York City Area.What a blast.What I want to Know is, How/Who/what/ controls this area.There is about 20 Airports in about a 20 mile area.Well I haven't bothered counting it exactly but it's somethinglike that.When I take off,ATC says...Take off on Runway Heading.But it seems to me, that by the time I've take off, andacknowledged my hand off, I'm just about in the Air space of another airport.MayBe I'm Just to slow, and not use to ATC, but does MSFS realisticly depict how this Area operates?

It looks like somewhere along the line I have managed to zap some textures - I've noticed that some buildings at the (MS) default airports now look like white boxes. I have used FS Edit back when FS2002 first came out. I have since never used it again after reading that it can do some bad things to the .cfg file and what not. But, does anyone know exactly what it does? For example, I have horrible throttle oscillations with the default 737, 747, and 777, amongst other planes and I was wondering if FS Edit could have caused this problem. I have win-me and a usb ch products flightsim yoke and pedals.All are calibrated and show their travels visually on the indicators ( throttle included) Everything works except the throttle. When I move it, it slams right back to idle. Ok, what simple thing am I missing? Thank's from a tired simmer!

Hello,I've got a computer with an Althon XP 2100 CPU and 512 megs of DDR memory. I am using Win98SE right now and everything is working great with FS. I can get a copy of Windows XP Home Edition pretty cheap and upgrade but don't know if there are any advantages to this route at all. Does anyone have any insight on this? I'm happy with Win98SE (mostly cuz I know how to use it, lol), just wondering if there is a reason to upgrade other than the new bells and whistles of Windows XP. Also, what is the difference between XP Home and XP Professional? I can also get XP Home cheap so I would only buy this one anyway but I have no idea what the difference betwee…

I am curious as to why there is always a blue sky all the way around,between the ground and the sky, even though weather is set for overcast conditions,this is very annoying because if it is overcast,clouds usually come all the way down to the visible horizon.Is there a fix for this,or will i have to wait for the next release with a fix included. Hi,I could find no special troubleshooting forum...All my aircraft have now the same problem with their beacons. They turn on and off in an infernal tempo, like one would be running the simulator in 10 times normal speed. :) I wonder what can be causing this? I've tried to replace the fx-files for the lights with the original ones, but that did not help.

Ok, I have a AMD 900 GeForce GTS with 32 megs and 576 ram. This set up runs FsS2002 with lots of add-ons with around 12 to 15 frames per minute..yes am happy with my flight sim. The question is: will I be happy with Airport 2002. I run WINDOWS 98... I understand a patch is avaible for this. Will I be dissapointed if I buy this program with my michine specs? Not sure if anyone has ever posted this but yo can get (or shall I say give yourself) approved Higher or Lower altitude without having your flight plan cancelled by the default ATC in FS2K2. Heres what you do...when your ready to climb or decend wait til you get handed off. Acknowledge the handoff but don't check in with the next controller. You are now under VFR on top rules. You can switch to the next controller to listen for advisory and listen to hear for a/c that are at your alt and type being refered to as traffic to other a/c and then look around because that might be you but lets face it how many times have you actaully gotten that close to other a/c once your…
