I must say that I am amazed by the response to the Stratoliner. I just checked the server logs, to see how many times since last week the Stratoliner has been downloaded. According to my server log reporting very early this morning,55649: 61.58%: Feb/13/03 1:36 AM: /vaw/b307.zipIt shows that the Stratoliner is 61.58% of my traffic. Thank you all very much for such an interest in this project!Al

Hi,I'm recently having some problems with multiplayer. I've got two computers linked together, so I tried to set up a multiplayer game. After I had done this, my plane kept crashing into the ground, like it got stuck in the ground or something... I've already reinstalled the game, but that doesn't work. Is this a common bug..?If you know more about this, please respond...Dutchman9

On FS.com theyve posted some new pictures of the new version of flightsim. One of them looks really interesting. Its of a vickers vimy over I think over the UK looking at the textures on the floor. But they are almost like the VFR scenery textures as you can see a railway terminus with railway lines etc. Its like looking at a aerial image and not just various mapped textures. Maybe some Cities will have satellite or aerial imagery.Hmm what suprises are in store for us...Heres a link to the pic.http://www.flightsim.com/cgi/kds?$=main/no...03/acof0212.htmCheers Craig Kiltie

Microsoft if your reading this, it would be nice to have a worldwide collection of accents for the ATC for a more realistic touch, (no offence to my friends in the US) but its odd to hear American controllers when flying in the UK or Europe.Just a thought

"And the ATC messages you've received are automatically recorded in the kneeboard for easy reference."This is actually a suprise to me for the fact it will be like having a co-pilot when receiving your IFR clearance. Having this feature will be the first time I will really use the knee board. Great idea MS. Kilstorm

I've been enjoying the dialogue on the lastest version of the venerable MSFS series and thought I'd add my thoughts. I am, for the most part, extremely pleased with what I read in the anouncement. Last month I had to reinstall MSFS 2002 after some problems with several conflicting land-class files that I couldn't track down. It took the better part of a day. It took that long because of the very large collection of add-on sceneries and meshes on my hard drive that all needed to be re-installed. Why is this relevant, you ask?Sure, when the new version comes it's going to be a pain in the butt installing all those add ons. But, they are all going to work, That was n…

Hi allI'm wondering if it's still worth myself buying the Lago product Terramesh 2002 for my FS2002 (hoping it can be upgraded to the NEW FS) which consists of very detailed mesh for the whole of Europe?I'm not too sure whether this new version of FS will have mesh at the level of detail of this product. Can someone please shine some light on the matter? Also ... Does anyone know if within this new upcoming version of FS the "flat" clouds are completely gone?I'm also hoping that the clouds will turn into a mist as you fly through them instead of meeting a great wall :)ThanksWill :-wave

Does anyone know if they are new FX files? With the current FX engine, you really can't do a 3D effect like vapors going over a LERX. I guess the expectations of TV - thrust vectoring and swing wings making it into FS9 aren't feasible? Is there a way to fix the Crash reset? Like some time time interval? Wouldn't it be better to have the crash interval be reset by the user instead of the game itself? Anyone?

Looks like this summer's new release will be low flying aircraft. Good - from my perspective. The Bad news is that we are still bound by coastlines, rivers, and roads that only very partially represent reality. Some to the point of being distractions rather than having any value. If any MS type is lurking, and a few bucks are in the budget, can we have a program to allow the use of USGS data (and foriegn sources) to lay down these items?? Or, will MS, at the very least, release an SDK or code snippets to assist the local talent in the creation of such a program??Dick KLBEDick

Can anybody tell me if they got the Meridian working well with a 1 ghz computer. I rarely use spot view or VC so those fps dont matter much to me. I was wondering how fps are with the 2d panel. Is it comparable to the fps in the C421 2d panel view? Thanks for any replies!Davespecs1 ghz PIII512 ramgeforce2winME

All I ask from this FS2002 patch is:1. Please (PLEEZE) Microsoft we've asked it when you developed FS98, again with FS2000 and again with FS2002 ... could you enable the switch that will turn on runway and taxi lights in low visibility, regardless of the time of day?2. Fix those horrible clouds! Almost every other sim from Pro Pilot to Fly have better clouds than MSFS ...3. Enable the possibility to delete aircraft from inside MSFSFor the rest, freeware and payware designers are doing what MSFS could not dream to do. In my humble opinion they are the true designers of our flying pleasure!Dreamfleet - http://www.dreamfleet2000.com/Caranado - http://66.33.47.235/ecommerce/i…

AVSIM's Maury Pratt was at the preview of the next release of FS today in Seattle. He has a lot of screenshots and copious notes of the preview they had today. He will be reporting on that and providing a great number of screen shots starting tomorrow night. Look for an initial brief report and then further detail on Wednesday.

I just bought 256 meg of ram for my laptop and noticed the original 256 meg is 133 mhz ddr and the new 256 ram is 266 mhz ddr, should I run them together to total 512 meg ram or will the old 133 mhz ddr slow the new 266 mhz ram down?

I'm really looking forward to FS-COF, and I know that the feature list is probably closed, but there is one thing that I'd really like to see improved, and that's the way that float-planes handle while taxiing on the water. In FS2002, you have to apply way to much power just to get them moving, and turning with any precision is very difficult. I've watched how real sea planes taxi, almost at idle, and just a little power to get going. Just my $0.02 worth.

I've downloaded it twice now, and get a bad or corrupt message each time from Windows Media Player 9. Ends up the same size each time (as I remember, 10,774K). Anyone got it to run?If so, can you give a description of what's on it?Thanks,-- Tom GibsonCalifornia Classic Propliners: http://www.calclassic.com/Cal Classic Alco Page: http://www.calclassic.com/alco/Freeflight Design Shop: http://www.freeflightdesign.com/ San Diego Model RR Museum: http://www.sdmodelrailroadm.com/Drop by! ___x_x_(")_x_x___

Hi M$!i love the new sim you are going to bring to us this summer and thank you for all the hard work you have done so far.I have 1 request if you could so oblige and that is to reduce the ground friction effect to a more realistic level so that our heavy jets can taxi at more realistic thrust settings,Eg idle thrust at lower weightsthanks and keep up the good workkeith

I have a slow internet connection and don't really want to d/l the 10MB ATC video. In the review it says that you can request different altitudes, approaches "and much more"...I'm wondering if it will be as detailed as RadarContact. If you have seen the video, can you tell me what all the new ATC offers? Thanks in advance.Adam

Well, i guess the topic says it all.I did buy the DF737 when the wrapper wasn't invented yet, and this is the 2nd time i'm passing on a flight one product. I would have bought the 421C but didn't for exactly the same reason. The wrapper. It's not that i'm for piracy, or against the use of keys and such. But the wrapper is taking things way too far in my opinion. Not sure if the people from Flight 1 read this forum and i have been thinking about sending them an email about this subject but they should really consider the fact that the wrapper might actually result in less people buying their products.

With the interest in virtual airlines I've always been surprised that no one has offered an addon to manage your own airline/charter. Afew addons have come close. Ultimate Airlines had real world schedules and could have easily tracked ontime percentages and fuel usage but didn't. FSMaintenance keeps track of wear and tear and does some simple accounting but doesn't give you any source of revenue. I would love a program that would keep track of your expenses and allow you to compete with others (either on line or simulated foes) for revenue, ontime percentage, passenger satisfaction, etc. I thought someone was working on this years ago but it seemed to die off. It could r…
