HiI don't know if anyone has pointed this out yet, but i've just thought of something that needs a minor fix for the new version of FS.On scenery, lights e.g. on building when viewed up close looks the correct size, but as soon as you start to move away from the light it gets BIGGER and BIGGER and BIGGER!This is something that needs to be fixed, so that the light constantly remains one size or expands up to a size that doesn't look abit "over the top".It would be great to include an intensity control which allows a designer to set the intensity of e.g. a group of lights which will be used on either lights or as carpark lights.As well as having reflections from the beams o…

Hi All.I know this has been discussed, but I did a search & couldn't find it, so here goes. A friend of mind who has just bought FS2002 & is a newbie to flying is having a problem with the plane going straight right on takeoff. I also had that same problem & found the fix in the forum, but for the life of me I can't remember what the fix is. Must be getting old.Thanks,Jim

With all the messing around I've done trying to get the Meridian fairly smooth I've since lost my graphic mojo. I installed DX9 and the latest NVidia drivers but things didn't look so good so I reinstalled slightly older drivers. I took their advice and uninstalled the drivers before reinstalling. Well, I don't know if that was necessary or not but it turned out to be a big pain in the buttocks (wonder if that will get bleeped on this forum?). All my tweaking is gone and the blurry textures are back. You guys got me through this last time but that post seems to be long gone here. Would someone be kind enough to repost those tweaks please? Loaded with FS2002.Receive latest METAR but under runtime status I get all 0's for cloud Density , ceiling and bases. View out cockpit window all clear when weather is at IFR minimums. Have latest FSUIPCThanks for help

Hi All,Just wanted to know if the clouds in this version of the sim will be 3d at all altitudes, instead of changing to flat layers after passing 3000ft above or below them.Also has the visibility limit for the clouds increased too?? in some of the screenshots it looks as though this is the case but then it may also be the angle of the shots. Cus i know that in FS2002, the clouds only display 15 miles out and that makes the sky look pretty empty at high altitudes. MS, even 40 miles out will suffice :-)And is it true that we will be able to see weather fronts from a distance, and be able to dodge CB tops in high flight???Thanks in advance,professa

AS soon as I saw the new screenpicks of the FS2002 (COF) panels, I was INSTANTLY reminded of FSTrainsim. As a non-train enthusiast, I thought that the Microsoft Train Sim (which I believe wasn't made by MS) was so good that it sucked me in for a long time.(Then I got bored with driving trains!!) I have always been impressed with the artwork in it compared to FS2002 (it's better) and the 3D aspects of it , I have always believed to be somewhat different and better than FS.Certainly, if Microsoft was able to combine the best qualities of FS and TS together, it would be great!Barry

A few years back I got FS2000 and loved it (I had actually gotten used to the frame rate of 0.7!!). Anyway when I got FS2002 I was fascinated with the virtual cockpits but some planes didn't have any. Do you think that the Mooney Bravo and the Schweizer 2-32 sailplane will have one (From the video's I saw that the Lear has one). I love those planes! Marc

Recently got back into simmin' since I've been selected to Navy Flight School.The U.S. Navy uses an addon for FS2000 (could not get it to install on FS2002) that adds some reference points (aka scenery), aircraft, videos, situation files, etc.Originally designed for FS98, and upgraded to FS2K.It added FLT, STN and WX to theC:PROGRAM FILESMICROSOFT GAMESFS2000PILOTSFolder, and .VID files to the C:PROGRAM FILESMICROSOFT GAMESFS2000VIDEOSThey use a front end shell interface to load various videos and situations.I'm wondering if I can some how trick the shell and move the files over to FS2002 and get them to work there.I even thought about renaming t…

According to an ICAO Instrument Approach Chart there is an ILSDME in Florence Peretola for Rwy 05, at least as from November 2001. Does any one know details about this ILS, which is not included in FS2K2?I would like to have its frequency (which seems to be 110.3MHz),localizer and GS details, so that I could add it to my database.

I have always had trouble reconciling the various panel/screen indications of indicated air speed (IAS), True airspeed (TAS) and groundspeed (GS) .Could somebody please explain to me the numbers at the top of the screen when Shift-Z is pressed - especially the numbers to the far right of the line.Thanks Barry

Hello folksOnce or twice during the last month or so, I've seen working dynamic water effects. When they do pop up I also see more color saturation on ground textures, I don't know how else to describe it.Yes, I have all effects sliders maxed, and even with overall high display settings I have good frame rates 15+.But I get the feeling that I am missing something, water effects being the most obvious.
