I have owned every version of Flight Simulator from the beginning but really only play it a few times a year and I'm not a pilot so most every time I get back into it, much of it is a re-learning process. The basics come back quickly but the details tend to get lost.I really got into Flight Unlimited (especially FU2) for a period and fell in love with the concept of starting out at gate or parking (I tend to fly smaller planes, not the jumbos) and having to request taxi clearance and getting in line with the jumbos and such. I also like flying out of Philadelphia International or Atlantic City International as those are the airports I live near and fly out of for business…

is it the takeoff? is it the taxing to the runway, is it the ils landing, is it the VFR landing, is it going through white clouds, is it the sounds of the engines? is it the ATC interaction? is it the views from 33000 feet....what keeps you coming back for more?

Guys I really need someone to help me out as when i went to install some AI trafic using the Project AI autoinstalation program i got a message stating that it could not locate the traffic.bgl file. sure enough when i did a search for whatever reasson it is gone!! I am runing WinXP and used the sytem restore feauture to try to locate it but to no avail. could someone send me a private email to try to help me out as I long ago misplaced my Fs2002 cd's so i can't restore this file manually. thanks.

How do I increase the tolerance on an aircraft's landing gear to avoid collapse on gravel taxiways/runways?I have an ATR42-500 (dunno whose aircraft at the moment) sitting at CYCB, but can't do anything because the nose gear keeps collapsing shortly after I start moving... I found the option in aircraft.cfg for impact damage threshold, but even increasing it to an unrealistically high 13,574, it still collapses....How can I fix this?

I know this was brought up before but I don't remember if there was a fix. But the problem is with the sound with the flaps. Somtimes it just keeps playing and playing. This just started happening. If someone out there knows of a fix please tell me. this is driving me nuts}> thanks keith:-beerchug

The MSCoF has me wondering about the Spirit of St Louis. How many simmer will try duplicating this historical flight? Hopefully this will be one of the adventures because it would be nice if MS does the research and finds out the weather that was reported during that flight including temp and winds aloft. Otherwise I guess some personal research will be needed since this entire flight would be based on fuel management and weather. I think I would like to try this once in a hail Mary flight. Hi,I've got a Gigabyte, GA7AVXP mobo, with the 8xAGP "little fan" on it. Every few seconds, this little fan "zips" I can hear it, it'll start out real low, then, "zzzzzzzziiiiiiiippppppp". Why is it doing this? Is it hurting anything? How can I stop it?Lobaeux

Any idea if Microsoft is going to implement a copilot function in FS2004 - that way we can take a bathroom break and not have ATC cancel our IFR clearance.

Does anyone here use WideFS and can you explain how to use it? I have FS2K2 running with WideServer and a Laptop with WideClient running and connected. I installed Super Flight Planner and run it and it doesn't see FS2K2. When it asks for the path to it do I put in the path to the PC running FS2K2 on the LAN? Do I HAVE to install FS on the second computer? FSNAV won't install without it so I downloaded SFP but I can't get it to work properly. Any help would be appreciated.

Here it is:When I takeoff, departing KORD for EPWA in the Posky 763, I set my alltitude to FL330, my nav hold to GPS, and IAS to 300kts and go to bed for the night (after activiting AP). When I wake up the next morning, I find myself stuck in the ground (on a hill) going nowhere. I am going 5.8kts to the North, then 0.8kts, then 2.8kts and so forth spitting out random speeds. I thought I had the blocky water textures figured out with my old GF2 card however with the upgrade of a new card (GF4 Ti4200) I am unable to get rid of blocky water textures . It will be clear for a minute then big squares, hour glasses, etc.Anyone have any ideas?Cheers!

Help fellow simmers!Like too many others recently, I am also having problems with FS2K2 with missing water effects ever since I upgraded to a new graphic card. Everything else in the sim is as expected with good frame rates along with all the usual effects such as aircraft reflections, contrails, smoke, wake and spray with rolling white surf . However what is not there is the water motions or sun reflections. I'm trying to fly the Boeing 747-400 and I miss a lot information and help.Where are the documentation about the instrumentpanel and the autopilot. I canonly find the popwindows when you place the cursor over the item. HelloI fly the Meridian in the California area. I use no additional airport scenery only default, to get an acceptable framerate from flyging this aircraft. (I have a Compaq P4 SFF 2GHz with a 32MB built in graphic card). I know pretty well I would end up in the 9 FPS region or less if I istalled the Simflyers scenery of KLAX for example (I would love to do it if I knew I would get a better result though) but I valuse that aircraft performance right now higher than the scenery I fly.However using the default KLAX, KOAK, KSFO and others I notice the aprons are not correct. I see for example other ground textures than apron ones around the gates at KLAX etc. Are there any f…

HiI'd like to hope that you are planning on programming FS so that the FPS will be VERY high e.g. something like 60-70fps while flying.If you could possibly aim for something like this, us 3rd party developers can add further details to our work. Its only because of FPS that we're restricted.PS.
