I'm looking for some good military airports either pay- ware or free-ware for FSX . I purchased the VRS F/A 18 E and TacPack and really love it. I thought it would be nice to enhance the experience with some decent military bases. Thanks

Hi all-- I recently purchased the Lionheart Learjet 24B (for FSX). It's a beauty, and a real hot rod (I knew the early Lears were fast, but had no idea that they were THAT fast!). I was also thrilled with its interior and cockpit, and the requirement that specific procedures be followed in order that the aircraft be flown correctly and safely. The level of systems depth is something that, up to now, has been lacking in most of the payware bizjets out there for Flight Simulator. The downside is that I experienced, in FSX, a couple of very vexing flight dynamics issues with the Lear that initially made it virtually unusable. The first is that at …

  5. How do I get rid of the encasements? This is UTX 2 on top of FTX PNW Hybrid with Vector disabled. Also, how do I get rid of the desert patches? I just re-installed UTX and don't remember ever having this problem

Just bought Ultimate Traffic2, and I'm experimenting with the proper settings. The goal is to get as much air traffic as realistically possible yet NOT impede performance. Question: Should aircraft traffic within FSX settings be shut off or reduced when using UT2? Please tell me what settings some of you UT2 veterans use....because I'm in a learning mode for this addon right now. Stan

I am totally new to FSX-SE (1 month) and have purchased the RealAir Beechcraft Duke Turbine. I have Active Sky Next abd REX textures. I am an ex pilot and want to fly the Duke IFR. I have looked at a number of pieces of Flight Planning software, including FlughtSim Commander, G-Plan, PFPX and FSBuild. I like the look of FSBuild as it integrates well with ASN to give winds aloft and weather. My concern is that it seems to require an aircraft performance profile .prf for each aircraft. Looking on their web site there doesnt appear to be one for my Duke and also not many turboprop aircraft in general. My questions are 1) Can I use FSBuild without an aircraft performance pro…

  12. Hello guysn'gals! - I like flying the real life's Cessna 172 at night. However, there are one thing that differs from doing the same thing in FSX. With the real Cessna 172, you can arrange the lights in the cockpit largely after your own preferences. For instance, at night I like to have all the cockpit lights turned off. The Instruments are being illuminated by their own backgrounds light. The dashboard is dark, but I have a clear and concise view of all intrument. My eyes are now adpted to the darkness outside, so there too I have a pretty good knowledge of what is going on outside cockpit. But, in FSX (SE or MS) I don't have this option. The only two option…

hello i thought that the bounce had been banished long ago,but in my P3d 2.5 it is back with a vengeance when using select vehicle to choose the aircraft it seems unstable floating in the air and bouncing/crashing down to earth or sometime,s the tire,s are buried halfway in the ground, the sim is paused and when the P button is pressed,if it is floating above the ground it crashes onto the runway if the tires are below ground it bounces up and down finally coming to rest on the runway,I believe I have updated to the latest version so any idea what I can do to stop this action,I have previously used Make runways s but have not installed it in P3d v2.5 does this effect anyt…

  14. Hello everyone, I want to plan a long flight to explore the western US with BlueSkyScenery, and I wanted to know if you had any ideas? I will be flying this in the A2A Cherokee, and hope to fly VFR by mainly following roads. The scenery coverage is: [alignright][/alignright] My current plan is to fly from Montana to Arizona through Wyoming and Idaho with each leg of the journey approximately 200-300 miles. Do you have any good places to fly, or interesting scenery to check out? Thanks for your ideas!

  15. When most here are dealing with enlarged AI Traffic landing lights or lights that seem to hover above the aircraft. I am baffled at what has happened to the AI landing lights in my sim. They are barely visible head on at very close range. They appear to look like flashlights were attached to the aircraft. I have already replaced my halo.bmp with a 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2013 and 2014 back up and no difference. The only thing I messed with recently is Zenertek (doubt that caused it) and REX 4 (thought for sure that was it, but the backed up halo.bmp didn't help) this is driving me nuts. The Shockwave Navi lights work great.

  16. Sorry for bringing this up again, but the problem wasn't actually resolved. How do I remove these lights or at least mitigate the zoom/bloom effect? Vector lights are disabled, and so is vector. All of the non screwy lights are UTX 2.0 They get small when I zoom in. And big when I zoom out. Don't ban plis

I've noticed with every plane, that when there is blue sky, there is flashing similar to lightning. It's always near the top of the screen. One day they were about six seconds apart, the next day about seven seconds apart. I'm using FSX, ASN. Everything else is running very smoothly.

  18. Hello everyone, I know that this subject has been adresses hundreds of times but i still i cant find any way to eliminate stutters in fsx even if i have great fps. My fps are locked internally at 30 and i have 1/2 refresh rate vsync with Nvidia inspector. I tried a few teaks to get ridd of those nasty stutters but nothing really worked for me. I also know that each case is different, thats why i am linking here my specs and my cfg. If any body have an idea about how to eliminate or decrease the stutters i would be eternally greatful. Have a nice day ! Specs: gtx 660 i54670k 3,4ghz OC at 4,4ghz 8g RAM windows 7 64 CFG: [JOBSCHEDU…

Hey guys! Just a simple question today for the techfreaks out there... How can i reduce the fact that an aircraft pitches up while flying a turn? I know that its the way a real aircraft behaves. But in my specific case i would like to reduce this effect cause i think it is modelled a bit too exaggerated... Is there a way to modify the .AIR file (airplane dynamics) that way? Thanks in advance! Tom

  20. Hey Everyone! I just bought a Samsung 850 SSD and am excited to get my FSX transferred over. Now I know a clean install is probably the best way to go, but I also have P3D and a TON of addons/sceneries and it really would be a pain. So I have chosen the /J Junction method which should be ok. However for SOME reason I can not rename the root microsoft games folder that ive copied over to the new drive, in the old drive. I am trying to rename it to Microsoft Games_BACKUPHDD. I get the error: "The action can't be completed because the folder or a file in it is open in another program. And I use the unlocker program and get: http://puu.sh/giMd9/e7c70882af.…

  21. Just a heads-up for those who may be interested. Many of you may be familiar with Hervé Sors, who provides monthly updates to upgrade the default FSX database of VORs, NDBs, etc at his web site http://www.aero.sors.fr/navaids3.html He also provides two versions of updated Magnetic Declination files for FSX. These updates have been invaluable for those of us who like to fly with current real-world procedures. Pretty frustrating to tune a VOR marked on a current chart, only to find that it won't work in FSX OR P3D, Because the present-day frequency has changed from the original 2006 default data in FSX/P3D For several months now, the monthly navaid updates have …

  22. The last few times I have attemted a long flight with my pmdg 747-400X, it has done the weirdest things. I have double checked my FMC and pre-flight setup to make sure everything is right. Read the manual and view several video tutorials . I started a flght from EHAM to KDEN. The first several hundred miles everything is fine, then all of the sudden the plane goes into a type of holding pattern. Then it will lose speed and stall out. I have to disendaged the autopilot and reset everything. It keeps flying around in a circle then stalling out. Anyone else experienced this? Windows 7, 64 bit, INtel Core i7 Processor, ATI Radeon HD 5770 1024 MB, 1TD Hard Drive, 8 GB DDR3 M…

  23. Hi Guys! I use my sim with Steve's fixer and all is good. I really love russian planes. I tries the SCS Tupolev FSX portover and looks good and works fine, but when the weather was turning worse and starting rain the cockpit glass started flashing and turned black or blue. When I turned off the OpusFSX and set the weather clear, all was good again. First I think that was the fog, but I tested some weather situations. So that only happens when raining. I really want to find the solution! Does Anyone has the same issue? Sorry for my really "interesting" English.

The failure system in FSX is lacking, its binary... either there is a failure or there is not a failure. What i would like is a system where I could say there is 95% reliability [number is pulled out of thin air] to each overall flight and on that 5% there is a system that fails randomly. As far as I know FSCaptain has some sort of system like this but it seems to be tuned to be easy to get out of... nothing critical will fail. I saw a video of a tube liner project in development where the engine flamed and he went through the emergency procedures. but it seemed that the plane had a control panel to trigger the emergancy. As far as I can tell FSCaptain is the on…
