I recently purchased this TCAS add on by DBS Studio from 4SimShop, hoping it'd work for FSX Steam Edition as most other add-ons have (at least partially). I installed this one perfectly fine; it located the correct installation path and everything. I opened FSX and on the loading screen I was greeted with the typical DLL activation for the add-on, and clicked yes. When I loaded an aircraft (I chose the simple Cessna that was listed as the default supported aircraft in the documentation, but nothing showed up and no option was available in the add-ons menu nor the instruments panel/windows dropdown. For the last two weeks I have been using the gorgeous VFR program Plan G as a moving map for my PMDG 737 and Milviz F-15 flights. I think Plan G has the best looking map I have been able to find. Since it is a VFR program, I use FSBuild to plan my flights. I fly IFR profiles. After I run FSBuild, I copy the middle part of the flight plan to the clipboard. My most recent flight from KSFO to KPDX shows KSFO CUIT3.RBL J126 OED.MOXEE6 KPDX. So I copy RBL J126 OED. Open Plan G and press the Quick Plan button. When I fly NW Canada using FTX Scenery areas and UTX Canada it looks like I have duplicate roads and bridges where there are main highways.4 lanes\briges and small roads both with bridges.Should I disable UTX and use only FTX for these scenery areas?Or maybe disable major roads and bridges in UTX.NW USA seems to be OK.Thanks for any input,Ron

Hi I let FSX rebuild my cfg file now I am having problems with control panel. All my settings from before are working such as throttle ect. but now there is no input in any of the flight control page or engine control page so I can't change anything. Weight and balance work fine. Also I don't here any announcements anymore. Thanks for help. Also tried to post over at Majestic but they ask for an invitation code when you sign up for an account not sure what that is or how to get one.

I respectfully recommend the program 'Simstarter'..........................http://aviation.pero-online.de/wordpress/?page_id=105 Using this program has given me more fps and at times more than triple. It changes your fsx.cfg file so don't forget to back up first, just in case you don't like it. I am sure you will though. I also declare that I have no business interest in it, I am just simply trying to help you all.

just wondering what everyone keeps Thier autogen at? I am at med right now with my nvidia inspector and I am seeing a good happy medium of graphics.

i'm findiing flight in FSX a bIt too easy these days. I can land my twin props in crosswinds, takeoff, land on short fields, in bad weather etc, and I can use NDBs and VOR radials. I also have Remote Flight Map on an iPad I use as a moving map/GPS and it makes navigation so ... easy. So I've started switching it off and planning flights visually, using landmarks and dead reckoning. I did alot of this in my Amy Johnson 1930 flight to Australia last year. It was the most challenging flying I'd ever done and I've not had any of that white knuckle flying since. But I've found now I'm working harder throughout the flight, now, checking times, looking for landmarks, …

Am I the only one who has major problems flying the Dash 8 at night? There's alot of Dash 8 night flights on flightaware, and whenever I try to do one I find myself frustrated, trying to find the point the cursor turns into the hand symbol over and over again when interacting with the VC. Any surface area without backlighting is pitch black. The overhead panel in particular. I can't imagine how these pitch black surfaces in real life wouldn't catch ambient light or refractory light from the backlighting. This is the only plane I have which needs the dome light on constantly.

Hey everyone! I've read many forum posts and just want to get the best up to date procedure of moving my FSX and P3D folders to my SSD. I just bought a 512 GB Samsung Pro 850 SSD, and I want to transfer FSX from my 1TB HDD to get a bit of quicker load times. Since I have the SSD anyways, I want to make the transfer. What is my best bet...doing a MKLINK? because I have so many addons, it would be really tricky in my opinion to uninstall everything (a lot of stuff for p3d, a lot for fsx, not sure which are which sometimes in the uninstall list)...anywho, I think registry errors up the yahoo would occur. My favourite plsne is not, unfortunately an A2A accusim (of which I have two), but the Britten Norman Islander from Flight 1. I love it and have bought an add on sound set, an old copy of the flight manual and built myself a BN-2 cockpit. Just wish it was accusim. I can get a bit closer sith A2A's Accufeel, but I wanted failures. After searching for weeks I finally found a little freeware program for FS2004 called Random Failures 1.0. Its written for FS2002 and 2004, but it works! I accelerated the failure rate to one a minute and all kinds of things failed, all except radios. I've lost the lights (Nav, Strobe, Landing, etc.) from all my aircraft. No lights, day or night. So, I assume I've accidentally moved or deleted a directory. Can anyone tell me where these textures are stored in FSX_SE or FSX? I am running FSX and FSX_SE side by side and the lights are working in FSX, so once I know their location I can copy them back into FSX_SE. Thanks,

Does anyone out there familiar with this plane on FSX? The Wilco Manual is hard to follow. I am a novice with this plane. I'm interested in FS Pasengers, but can't find out a couple of bits of info, can anyone help? I fly twin planes like King Airs, Twin Otters and Islanders and would like the failure system and the rating system for flights, but I don't want some massive clunky interface that launches FSX for me. And I don't want to manage an airline. I just want to fly. I use Plan G for flight planning. Is this the best add on for me? Or should I look at something else, like .. is it FS Captain?

Hey community! I'm in need of a little help... I'm fiddling with my fsx.cfg for quite a time now and it seems im stuck right now... The major problem is not the FPS but the stutters i get with the different Affinity Mask settings. First of all my System: i7-3820 OC'd to 4.5 Ghz GTX970 16mb RAM FSX running on a separate SSD. Hi Chris, Last week I downloaded the Berlin lights demo, and was completely blown away by how much this transformed my sim, but I have a quick question or two please. Currently, I am running the ORBX night lighting (I found that the demo integrated with this fine) but since I have used ORBX lights with ORBX Global, I've noticed that the lights seem to "dissapear" at around 4,000 ft agl or so. I did not notice this with the Berlin demo, however when I flew a 737 test flight out of Tegel, I think at one stage the lights area seemed to come to an end, as it was pitch black outside the cockpit. I noticed a recent reduction of approximately 10-15 fps after I uninstalled Ut2. I'm pretty sure I deleted all the files with the auto installer provided but I also manually deleted a few from the [trusted] entry in fsx.cfg...while I was there I noticed I had a double entry for my Display Device....Nvidia GeForce GTX 770.0 and Nvidia GeForce GTX 770.1 respectively. Would/could this cause the sudden downtick in FPS? I made no other adjustments or installed anything which would account for the drop...all the anti malware and AV checked good. I have just bought Zinertek HD Airport Graphics V3. And I know about the issue of needed to determine which default textures you prefer for runway when you have REX like I do. However, I just realized that I also have Dirk Stuck Design airport vehicles (GXT) in some airports and it now occurs to me that these will all be replaced with the new Zinertek versions if I go with Zinertek install. Does anyone else out there have or use Dirk Stuck Design airport vehicles and can you advise me on how to manage this issue.
