One of my favorite planes is the Cessna 172 Kangan Batman from Real Air Simulations. I am trying to use it in FSX: Steam Edition, but am missing the gauges and the paint. It is generic white. Anyone know how to fix? Jim

FSX night time is way to bright, its not on the planet earth.... Is there any utility to fix it? I remember I did something a few years ago on my Vista machine, it made the night pitch dark... Now I can't find any thing on the web, seems to me a lot simmer have quit playing....so quiet

Anyways, at FSIA the default scenery is mixed up with the addon, buildings sink into the ground and my plane is around 10 feet in the air. Here is what I see at FSIA: Strange: I can temporarily fix this by deleting all files in the ProgramData/Microsoft/FSX/SceneryIndexes-Folder as described in the thread, BUT if I launch FSX after some time, the issues are back. Hello everybody I started this tread to be able to follow any question/suggestion/issue you have with the tool I've developed. The tools is called SIDSTAR Converter. It will convert all the files you want in PMDG format using a special version of AiConv.exe (thanks Roland!!) It has a friendly and straight forward user interface. And it will create a folder structure with the names of countries and states with all the converted files inside. Hi, I finally purchased Night Environment British Isles. I've been playing with it and testing some settings but I can't get things to look right. I'm using MegaScenery Earth England and Wales, Orbx Global + Vector. Here's my scenery library: https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B012srY358MYcFhJUE9QY3hFQmc. There are no layers above what's shown that are activated. However, something doesn't look right. The ground splash looks totally opaque. Hello- All of the addons that come out of our community are fantastic and awesome (some more than others), but with addon aircraft, the sound for wing views is loud and external. Now in real life, you aren't sitting out side of the cabin, you are inside enjoying the lovely sounds of the muffled engines, not the loud whine of an engine in cruize. So wouldn't it be proper for the wing view sounds of addon aircraft be sounds from the actual cabin? -Just a thought.

When I try to enter an airport such as KRKS, the R is not displayed when I hit the key. The keyboard works fine in note pad and I have tried two keyboards.' Any ideas? Thanks,

I am in the process of uninstalling fix due to corrupted file. The program repair option has not corrected the problem, so I'm starting from scratch with a new installation on a different drive. The problem is that the program removal tool in Control Panel has removed the program, but all the files and folders remain in the directory. I can remove all of thes with the exception of one folder named Font. Problem is that files within this folder are being used with "System" and it won't allow me to delete. What "System" can it be referring to ? I can understand font files in System being needed by FSX, but not the other way round. Can anyone tell me what t…

This is just my opinion/suggestion, but I think there should be a small sale for Scenery for arrival & departure airports for CTP. Like I said this is just a *hopeful* suggestion

Just a general question, I don't have FSPassengers so I can't water land without the dang aircraft bouncing. So I heard that you have to edit the aircraft .cfg to something like a float plane or something like that but I don't know how to do that, help would be appriciated.

Hello, first of all I don´t know if I´m right here with my question but I haven´t found an FSUIPC support forum so I´m asking here. The problem for me is, like the title says, that FSUIPC is disappearing in the flight. I´m using Windows 8 so I need it for my controls. The addons I´m using with FSX: -Active Sky next -AivlaSoft EFB -PMDG 777 (the problem only occurs with this aircraft) -FSUIPC (the newest version) -Navigraph Charts -Some addon Airports -FSDreamteam Addon Manager (dont know if that matters.) I have tried it with the EFB off and reducing my system load to the lowest I can. In the beginning it worked fine but about 3 hours in the flight it stoppe…

I understand that FSX SE can be opted to run off line if desired. I don't see that option when running Steam. What I have done is to open Task Manager and end Steam there and then continue on with FSX SE. Is there another method? Thanks, Jim D.

*EDIT* Of course now that I post here, I found the solution. Apparently my throttle quadrant the throttle and propeller levers were in the "bottom" detent (where it shows up as a button press) so even though one of those was not mapped to anything, SOMEHOW this caused FSX to create the 10-degree increments and the 1000' increments. I moved the propeller lever up to the 0 detent and everything works fine. Sorry for the post below, but hopefully others can benefit from my sillyness. I wondered how everyone flies airliners .... I only fly them now and then, I'm a more committed bush pilot. a - Do you follow default ATC instructions IFR right down to ILS approach they give you? b - Do you ignore ATC after climb, and follow your own flight plan, predicting the RNWY to land on based o wind direction? I've found that a) is often very good at getting you on the glidescope, and I always find it. But there are sometimes strange instructions. I've tried b but traffic can get in your way, or wind direction change so you are headed for the wrong end of the runway! And of course you have to carefully calculate our descent and find the glide…

I think I have fiddled to much with the layers in NE. If I want the 100 % intensity, then I want to choose layer 3 and base? Or layer 3 and 0? I don't get this. Secondly, does LOD Radius impact NE? Are there any settings (in P3D) that may affect the draw distance of NE lighting?

Is there a way to setup one of the keys as a shortcut to the overhead view similar to how you can for 2d panels? I've been hunting and can't find out how. TIA!

Is there a way that you can zoom in and out (alter the magnification) of the outside only, and not the cockpit, in the VC view? (Hope the question makes sense). I want to set them at two independent settings, like you can in the 2D cockpit view (although in the 2D view, you can't change the cockpit view; only the outside). For example, I want the Virtual Cockpit set at 0.3 magnification and the outside view set at 1.00. Is this possible?

Hi all, I'm building a new PC, and it's gonna be pretty powerful (Not just for FSX, but a variety of different things and games as well). i7-i4790k 32GB DDR3 RAM FSX is getting its own WD Black Hard Drive Zotac GTX980 Amp Edition Looking for some suggestions/advice here. I'm thinking about buying GEX along with UTX and SceneryTech. Now, will these update the airports in FSX as well with the new runways/runway numbers/etc? Or do I have to get all that seperately? If so, is there somewhere that sells packs of all the airports in a country and/or region, ie North America? I got the PMDG 737 recently, and plan on getting the 747 next followed by the 777... so …

I've been flying around the lax area recently,i have tried to land on the rooftop helipads of the building.the helipads are clearly marked out but i just sink right through them,one more thing,does anybody know any livarys for fsx from the programme '24'? any help is appreciated!

Hi there, Just wondering if anyone has downloaded any freeware successfully onto FSX Steam Edition. Everything is going great with missions and default aircraft... But if I install any freeware (based on FSX aircraft), then I get the fatal error after about 30mins of playing time... I haven't had a chance to install any of my Just Flight add ons, which I think will work as it states on the Just Flight website. Any clues on what freeware aircraft will work, or do they have to be designed for Flight Simulator X: Steam Edition? Thanks in advance.
