All Is it possible to have fsx on a non standard drive and the sdk on drive C: ( standard ). Will the relative file location work in the xml.dll or will they have to explicit with drive routing Thank you in advance Peter

Hi there, I am wondering if it's worth buying still FSX Addons or not. Of course, there you can get FSX+P3D in a bundle but nevertheless. I spend already genuinely a lot of money into FSX but I am wondering what's about the future about flight sim. It seems to me addons developers bet on P3D but I have read when it upgrades to 64bit most addons won't work. Do you see a chance, to use all this (newer) developed addons for FSX in "the future sim". I am aware of we cannot no that today, but maybe there has been some statements of developers who have this aim. At least I've read about some new flight sim projects, so think we need to wait who will make the run. Though…

So lately I have been experiencing a frustrating problem. When I start FSX with any aircraft at any location, all I see is an annoying repetitive sky. It's hard to explain, so I'll try my best- their is a grey sky background with strips of clouds repeating itself as I move my head in game. I have no clue what's causing it. It happens 75% of the time. Ever since I got the Ifly 737 NG, this has been occurring. Even before I purchased the plane it still happens. In the past months, I have reinstalled the game multiple times. What's strange is that the first time I installed FSX, I did not experience this problem. What are the reasons one would want to do this (see topic)? I question this only because sometimes when I load a saved game the INS is all goofed out. Waypoints seem loaded but the plane does not at all go to the proper point. I'm guessing that my plane position while in flight is not seen properly by the INS and I somehow have to retell ( aka as Alignment?) the INS where the plane's exact current location is. This sound right? I'm trying to learn all this btw. Thanks for any help.

Does anyone know how to change the altimeter setting from qnh in the pfd to inches? Thanks for the help.

I have the boxed FSX on my main drive but I am running out of room, can I run FSX-SE on a external drive through a USB plug? Or is that USB a bottleneck?

Ok....simple question.... I re-installed fsx ( non steam edition ). Seems like i have re-installed a zillion times over the past 8 years but i have a new problem.( or perhaps I never noticed this before ) I installed FSX sp1 sp2 and accel When i go the the menu bar and select ABOUT.. it says that my version is the "deluxe version". even though acceleration indicates it has installed correctly. I've been wanting to try out "Realtrim X" for a while now, so decided to give it a go today. On Googling to find Realtrim, there are many links on the web to a Wiki page about it - but they're all dead. In order to have a client pc running some windowed cameras, do I need to purchase another copy of steam fsx? I assume I cant run two copies of it at the same time on two different computers with the same steam account can I? Main pc has fsx steam installed already, I dont mind buying another copy and creating a new steam username and buying it. Id just like to know in the next 9hrs before it goes back to full price on steam. Thank you.

Hey everyone, I've recently decided to get back into FSX after a foray into DCS. I went ahead and bought the SE on sale after I heard all the raves about the improvements in performance. Now, I had uninstalled my boxed edition and all of the components, but when I fire up the Steam edition, I get a bunch of errors that say it can't find my ORBX scenery and I am left with a black sky (and everything looking jankety.) Is there somewhere I can find a step by step to getting me going? I'd really appreciate it! Thanks in advance.

Hi all, I've been having a strange problem with water textures for a long time. I am limited to the 1.x range because the water loses all texturing in the higher range. I would like to have 2.x enabled for some VFR flying, however I can't seem to figure this one out. I have deleted the "Shader" folder in the [local/Microsoft/FSX] directory, but the issue persists even after FSX rebuilds the shader cache. The two images below are the result of setting 2.x. I am using FSX SP2 on Win7 x64 with the DX10 preview mode disabled. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I just want to check if there's any interest here with you FS9'ers who also have FSX but never or rarely fly it because of performance. I know many of us use FS9 because we don't have top end PC's. I used to do FS2004 about 99% of the time. This past week, it's been 50/50 between the two sims. Maybe slightly more with FSX. My PC is pretty low end. Win7, 955BE @ 4ghz, 8g DDR3, GTX560. After years of constantly fiddling with settings, I've finally found one that basically gives me the same performance as FS9. It only happens to the iFly 747, which I love the experience, and I had it since it went freeware on FSX classic, and decided to install for FSX Steam, I got the gauges to work by installing the SDK files, but the screen resolution keeps shrinking now everytime I start a flight. Any suggestions?

Easy question for somebody familiar with these programs, my memory is a little foggy. Years ago I bought REX 2 on my old computer and if I remember correctly I got it because it made the clouds, fog, and water much more realistic looking. It also removed that default FSX white blanket that used to cover the terrain in the mornings. I can't remember if it had a weather engine or not as I just used the FSX real world weather until it started being crazy inaccurate. help, please! I deleted my Effect - files, all of them. I was able to find MS effects from my back ups, but most of the effects - files are gone. They are mostly from the ORBX -sceneries (most of the areas and a lot of airports) and aircrafts of Carenado (A36, C185), RealAir (Duke v1), Milviz B732 to mention the most inportant ones. Do I have to install all these again? Plz, what to do?

Hello! im a user of FSX STEAM. I have bought it three days ago. I launched it five times: in the sixth one it doesnt work. The simulator is frozen in the load main screen. It doestn launch. My task manager says: no. i have windows 7, all my drivers updated. it seems a lot of people have this problem but fsx steam havent found anyt solution yet. Could someone help me???

I bought this plane and for a little bit it worked, but now the landing gear wont re-track the gauges aren't working, any solutions would be great.

Can anyone explain how to get weather radar with this combination. I noticed Froogle was talking about it in one of his you tube videos. What version of both and how, any help or info would be much appreciated. Shayne

Hallo, I can't insert ZHNY in my PMDG data base because there are no data available and no charts to create a ZHNY.txt for SID and STAR. I contacted the publisher support for this airport but no luck,I only received a message "Could not send message" and the web- site of the publisher is not abailable too! I've bought the airport at SimMarket and the publisher is Celestial Team. Who can help me with my problem with Nanyang Jiangying Airport ZHNY, please?

If anyone else is using this addon, could you please verify to me something about the FMC? The airport ident database has multiple pages, but I can't seem to move between pages for this function only. Changing pages for other FMC functions works fine. I would like to verify whether this is just my problem or a problem for others also.Friendly Panels' only support seems to be by email, and I don't know whether or not they will reply.

Getting set up in FSX Steam Edition- no mods yet- and I was resizing the GPS on my second monitor. Apparently, I scaled it down a little too much, and now it's gone and disappeared. I've tried turning it on and off (Shift-3, menus) and tried using window titles to see if it's still there but invisible (it's not). Tried ending the flight and starting another, but the GPS is still missing. So... how do I reset the GPS panel?

I can't find the config file, there for I am unable to enter wideview = True as I have 3 monitors. Now instead I only see FSXSEConfig.exe witch it doesn't open . Could someone shine some light on this? to me would be unplayable if they decided to remove this option. Thanks
