I have spent the last 2 weeks trying to get FSX to run great on my machine, This has involved many reformats due to files and registry stuff(REX) messing up reinstalls. so I have had to reformat and re-download FSX many many times since there is no good way to back up the game(tried steam backup and backing up the base game folders to external hard drive) I think I am up to 8 times I have done this in the last 2 weeks. The last 2 tries have started to irritate me as any time I click anywhere on the screen in game, I get lag for a few seconds before the game resumes, and then there is the huge lag when trying to access display settings from the drop down menu in game t…

Despite simming for a long time, and having no problems landing any other aircraft, I've always really struggled to land the A2A 172....... In saying that I don't mean I'm a wonderful sim pilot and clearly the A2As aren't realistic enough ..... I mean that it's likely that their FDE is so much more realistic than other models, that I just haven't cracked it yet. Like many others, just bought the 182 ...... ooooeeeeee, terrible landings! Hello all, On my past two visits to St Maarten, I noticed that most of the ramps are packed with business jets. When I got back home, I was inspired to fly to SXM in FSX. When I did, I was disappointed because there were not nearly as many business jets parked. I found a picture online (posted by Daniel Fall) which shows almost exactly what it looks like in real life in FSX. I recently installed the ORBX FTX PNW regional scenery to my FSX/Acceleration system. I used the FTX Central software to activate PNW, and downloaded several of the free airport sceneries provided by ORBX for this product. Now, however, when I first start FSX, I receive this error message: SCENERY.CFG File error. Local Scenery Directory (ORBX\FTX_AU\FTXAA_ORBXLIBS\SCENERY) in Scenery Area.144 not found. Click OK to continue. Clicking on OK, FSX starts, and the scenery, including FTX PNW seems to run fine. But the error message is irritating to say the least. Is there a fix for this? I'm using headphones and the engine sounds are so loud it's hard to hear ATC. Is there a config or XML mod that will quiet these sounds?

I just had this very odd issue in FSX: I selected La Guardia (KLGA) as the airport I wanted to fly from (VFR only, I just got a new GPU, so I was re-tweaking my CFG, and La Guardia is my baseline spot for "Benchmarking"). But in the FSX GUI, it says 'Edo' as the airport of origin. Oddly enough, restarting FSX had no effect. Actually flying out of La Guardia a.k.a Edo was interesting too. I start off at La Guardia, but there is no airport building! It is almost as if the BGL was never there. I have no addons for La Guardia--the only addon airports I have are KSFO and KRIC. Any ideas? Hello, I recently installed Flytampa EKCH and i had some issues with elevation, so I had to delete area on scenery settings, and reinstall the area. After the reinstalling I noticed the LC issue was fixed. UNTIL! i switched to top down view and relized the complete area scenery is messed up. Hi,I have a small problem. I installed Bojotes Shader 3.0 mod. But unfortunately my wave animation is static now. I know that everyone is having this problem, and I know you can edit the WaterConstants.xml file to get normal wave animation, but I don't know which parameters to change, and which values to use. Uninstalling Bojote's Shader 3.0 mod, ######s up FSX entirely, the planes are black, and all the plane's parts are all over the place. The sun is black, the water is black, etc. Reinstalling Bojote's Shader 3.0 mod fixes the problem, but of course the static water animation is still there. So I hope that someone can send me their own WaterConstants.xml. This file is …

I currently use AS2012 textures with ASN weather engine and am thinking of buying REX4 with soft clouds since it is on sale. My question is will those wonderful HD textures bring a performance penalty verses AS2012? Any advice appreciated.

Firstly, yes, there's a catch! Read on; It's always gutted me that I've not been able to enjoy the ifly747. Its a truly beautiful addon with stunning systems depth and brilliant FDE. But I experience awful fluctuating FPS performance with it. 30 FPS one moment, 12 FPS for 30 secs then back up. On approach, even to a quiet default airport, FPS would become a slideshow. I tried it again today and while toggling through the cockpit views I passed the 2D panel... i went passed it but found myself thinking hang on, that looked nice. Really nice. I know there have been previous threads but this is a big decision. I already own FSX and Prepar3d 2.5 but with the recent sale of FSX-SE and release of pmdg ngx into both platforms I'm at a crossroad. I've already had to buy the turbine duke for prepar3d literally a couple weeks after I VP gut it for FSX due to it releasing and now buying another ngx after buying it just back in October seems nuts. How much better is FSX-SE for the discount price it is at right now? I'm in dx9 and I have a lot of add-on in FSX so I would have to reinstall all those right? Many of you might be aware of this already but for those who aren't I've found a way of reclaiming up to 200Mb of VAS which may be the difference between getting an OOM and not. This is with the MS version of FSX. Flying FS Labs Concorde-X out of Fly Tampa Dubai the VAS available dropped down to 500-600Mb. As I flew away from the city I selected Options - Settings - Display and changed Filtering from Anisotropic to Off. Pressed OK and then went back into the menu and set it back to Anisotropic again. The net gain from this was around 200Mb. I'm enroute to HESH and available VAS is now up to 1072Mb. That's more than enough for my approach and landing. Hope it work…

I like to fly airliners and have flown on FS9 for years. I recently switched to FSX and am having a problem landing. No matter how slow I try to land it always acts as though my landing speed is much too fast. When I touch down the aircraft bounces up then I can't get it to stall again until I'm too far down the runway. When I flew in FS9 I could always kind of "stick" the landing where it stayed down then I could activate my braking and reverse thrusters. Am I doing something wrong or is there some kind of a bug in the program?

I finally gave in and purchased the ifly 747 v2 for FSX yesterday.... it's a fantastic simulation and a huge step up from their 737NG with it's under-par textures and screen displays. Just one problem - I am gobsmacked how few repaints are available for this add-on. As well as the British Airways and Virgin Atlantic liveries that came with it, I've been able to find about 4 other US operators, a Lufthansa, Air France and KLM and that's about it. I've checked the AVSIM file library (there are about 5 on there), ify's own site (not much help at all, as just a 'request thread') and the Flight 1 file library (about 6; mostly the same as those on AVSIM). We are releasing the version 1.014 of the Q400 PILOT edition for FSX and Prepar 3D V2.x This version fixes several issues, among them the crash due to resizing the window under Prepar3D, along with the mipmap panels option being off, and the cabin view audio issue reported by several users. OK, so I made a fresh install of the original FSX DVD and the Steam Edition on my computer to be able to better compare them with each other regarding performance. Hi stephen i installed OpusFSI Release Version 4.48.7 and i have a little problem with the camera module, the weather engine is working fine.When i start opusfsi, i cant control the camera and the dhm is no longer working. after hours of troubelshooting, i desactivated the p3d PDK module and everything went back and opusfsi is controling p3d cameras systems. I dont undestand why because have the enty set up correctly in dll.xml and i have OpusPDK.dll is in my modules folder.i unistalled opusfsi and simconnect and reinstalled them,but didnt solve the problem. can you help me please to fix this problem stephen. thx in advance kais
