Just bought the sim and i was wondering if there are any tips or hints i should know before installing.my PC skills are very limited and I,m hoping this will not be to difficult. My system is Pent4 windows XP 512 Ram Video card Gforce2 MX400 64MB video memory. any tips would be appreciated. Thanks

I was just playing around at George Grimshaw's excellent Boston the other day and encountered some severe "holes" in the runway...you know, the kind that exist at almost every airport as a new "feature" of FS9. For those of you that don't know what I'm talking about, they're invisible dips or holes of some sort in the middle of most runways I've come across, causing aircraft to bounce wildly. Well anyway, I was attempting a take off in a POSKY A330 the other day on 33L at KBOS when I hit a series of these "holes" at about 120 kts. For those of you who may have been having some problems when applying the "cargo" textures to the files you were told to download, I just realized that two of those files I specified are dash7v1.zip and dash7v9.zip. For the cargo version, these should be dash7c1.zip and dash7c9.zip My apologies for this typographical error. Heather

Hello. I'm hoping someone can answer this quick question for me.I have come across a couple of panels specifically made for FS2004 that have a TCAS system. But, that system does not show any aircraft. Ever. Am I missing something here? Is it possible that something else is needed for this to work that isn't already included in everything else that came with that panel?The same panel, designed by the same person for FS2002 works fine (in FS2002 of course). Has something changed in FS2004 regarding this type of feature?Any info on this would be greatly appreciated.Thanks!

Entries in the logbook are always done automatically when you exit FS9. Is there a way to have the logbook automatically enter flight information after a flight is complete without closing out the program? I've tried ending a flight, but you have to manually enter the information in the logbook.Thanks,Scott

I have a BAE146 aircraft which won't show any lights NAV/BEACON/STROBE etc when I switch them on and another aircraft that shows the strobe loghts above the wingtips. How do I rectify these problemsCheers Semm

I have been aware for a while that someone is uploading files to FlightSim.com that I have uploaded to Avsim only. Previously, these files were credited to me and I really had no problem with it. Today, while perusing FS.com's newest files, I came upon a file containing Southeast Airline flight plans. No author was credited. I checked and it was, indeed, my file. :-eek :-mad I have written their web master voicing a formal complaint. I'm just wondering if FS.com has stooped that low? Anyone else have this experience?

I did a search and didn't seem to find what I was looking for so I figured I'd post something here for the folks more knowledgeable than I am.What exactly would I look for to find animated scenery at an airport. For example, when I land or before taking off the animated ground crew comes over and loads the plane or unloads it. I've seen a couple of examples of this where it came with the plane I downloaded. hii am experiencing some strange things since recently. i am unaware of what could have caused it and how to solve it, but it is nasty.whenever i start FS9, the scenery configuration dialog begins to "building database for new scenery files ... " what ever. the problem is that i have not installed any addtional sceneries. it does it always.i understand that FS9 hast to perform it when i install a new afcad file or a new scenery, but not always.any idea or help out there?thanks in advanceMartin

Until now I was using the old version without having any problems.But since the new year the developer of FSMETEO Marc Philibert desided not only to completly stops the support for the older version but also to prevent it from downloading weather by a pop up message which is saying that this product has expired.And not only this but he ERASES yes you read correctly he ERASES the files from your hard disk , The dat file and all saved weather files. Hi,I have just acquired a set of CH USB Pro pedals and am wondering whether I should adjust the sensitivities or null zones to be able to use them properly.I tried to adjust them earlier but, the settings kept reverting to "simple" default settings, so I could not judge any differences, is there any way to stop that?Cheers for any helpTerry

Does anyone know of a composite listing of the proper altitudes for international flights? (In addition to international flights, flights internationally, that is when in individual global countries from one interior airport to another.) Particularly, the United Kingdom and the rest of Europe. I have been useing domestic USA regulated altitudes, but have no idea how this jives with the rest of the world. I wonder if anyone else has experienced this!I have just installed "Wonderful Rio 2004" mainly for SBRJ - Santos Dumont airport beside the sea in Rio De Janeiro (fantastic location and challenging approaches from the south). For some weird reason I have crashed three times into invisible buildings! First on approach to 02R at approx 200ft and again on the actual airfield. FS2004 gives me the error message "building crash!" and I hear the airplane being torn apart but I can't see anything solid on screen!I have the correct AFCAD2 file installed for SBRJ and everything appears to line up ok so what am I doing wrong?Could it be a scenery layering issue?Any advice would be mo…

Just completed Al Pelletier's RoundRobin Adv from Calgary Alberta To Comox Britch Columbia Canada flying the Flight1 Iron Knuckles in FS9, great flights but I continue to have one "Fault Panel" light (Mach Trim Inop). Hi,I'm looking for some kind of virtual copilot that monitors the flight at cruise stage and gives auditible informations/warnings if certain defined situations occour (example: I want the copilot to inform me if the VOR needle deviates more than a defined amount, about significant wind changes or changes in KIAS etc.) So I'm able to do something else (reading a book or so) if the workload at the cockpit is low but will be informed if corrective action is needed.My first intention was to try Flight Deck Companion.
