Hello all, I have FS9 on my system. Everytime i start it, and look at Task Manager, I see a file called ~e5d141.tmp. Does anyone know what this is? When I go to close it FS9 also closes. Dont know why that's there.PIV 3.2 ghzRadeon 9800 256mb1 GB RamThanks,Nick

Hi All.the last four flights in my PSS A340 have ended abruptly I'm affraid. what has been happening is this, I start the flight planning etc the normal way, the PSS plane performs admirably in every way, I'm not saying it's a PSS issue,but it's happened the last 4 flights in the A340 and I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem, I take off and fly as normal,I tend to stay in the 2D pit most all the flight, then like just now I went to the outside view to have a look at this lovely bird flare and auto deploy spoilers and then I engage reverse thrust.but just before I see any thrust reversers etc I get a black screen where FS should be, EG. the screen edge in wi…

hii just upgraded my video card to ati 9800pro and performed a clean install of winXP and fs2004 and pmdg737ngthe system that i am running is P4 2.61G ram 3200ati 9800 prowith dual monitors 19in lcd and 17in lcd secondary (from same card)this is what i am experiencingwhen i run fs2004 then load PMDG then choose 700 model and then airport the plane appears on the runway no problemthen i try to open a new view and unlock it to create a movable window then drag this new window to the second monitor and the fs2004 main window goes black/dark and the fs2004 program locks up.now if i do this with a cessna airplane and open a second window then move it to second monitor everythi…

Does anyone know a link for cross-manufacturer performance comparison charts of various (or all) single- and twin- engine prop aircraft? FS2004 keeps crashing when I switch the ATC window on and off. It happens on all planes, though the number of ATC toggles varies considerably (4 for Bill Gs ERJ145 panel and 15 or more for MS planes).My set up is as follows:- P4 2.4GHz- NVIDIA GeForce Ti4400 128Mb- Windows 2000 Pro- FS2004I have been using FS2004 since it came out here in August last year with no problems. I have some problems with my aircraftsin FS9! the problem is that when im out flyingthe textures of the aircraft disappears and allim left with is a blank grey color on the aircrafts and helicopters! :-( This includes some VC! like thePMDG VC and textures, but also the default aircraftsand helicopters have theese problems!also, on DF/Flight1's Archer the textures disappearedon the pilots and passangers and every part of theaircraft, then it came back and disappeared over and over!on some aircrafts the textures never even come backwhile im out flying!One example: I was out flying the R22 Robinson andnot only did the textures go away, but also thesound inside in the cockpi…

Is there someone that could possibly look over my Aircraft.cfg file to make sure everything is correct for the PSS 747/MelJet merge? I'm using the one downloaded from MelJet, so you would think it should work ok. For some odd reason though, I can't take off!! I noticed FS9 adds some lines for brakes, etc. I'm not sure if this is messing anything up or not. I've attached the cfg as a text file. Any help would really be appreciated, as I'm getting tired of doing face-plants at the end of the runway(By the way, I did add lines for Nick's Jet Exhaust and contrail effects, but they shouldn't be affecting anything, right?). I have 600+ entries on my FS2002 scenery config.Lately everytime I start up the sim I get theapplet with the: "Building database for new sceneryfiles", it runs up to 61% then hangs and then eventuallyI can access all the menus etc.The question is why is this happening even when I havenot added any sceneries?Any advice gratefully received.Joaquin

Hi, Looking for a simple AI enhancing program. Used "Traffic Tools" in the past and would like to try something else. Anyone using this program please advise. Read about it in ComputerPilot magazine and it looks like it may be a good middle of the road program. If used what sort of a realistic FPS hit can be expected. Hi all,I read recently here that MS forgot in the US version of FS 2004 quite a few sound files for the flying lessons (even on the CDs), which results in the instructor abandoning you in some lessons. To check this, I copied the missing files from my German version of FS2002 over to my US version of FS2004. Okay, it is not important to have the door open on your simcraft, however I would like to see it. Using Shift + E keys seems to do nothing, I have tried Shift +E alone and then followed by 1 or 2 still no change. Am I missing something?Another question, why is there a telephone pole in the middle of the runway Mbuji Mayi, Congo runway? So it was not a serious question, but a funny thing to see.

Hello Folks:The aviation authorities in Bolivia (the real ones) have changed the location of a couple of intersections. These new locations are reflected in the various AIRAC's, however, the default database of FS2004 still has the old locations. This creates a lot of confusion when flying add-ons.Is it possible to modify that data base so that the new locations can be entered??Any help is appreciated.Thx.Roberto

I just checked out the new piper that's on the front page of avsim. I've been a fan of the Lyons for some time now, so I didn't hesitate to buy it. With the Lyons packages you always get some nice surprises, like custom personalised scenery and special features and some times some plain crazy stuff, like the mountain skiiing feature in one of the packages. I've tried the first flight and it puts you at a Minnesota farm. The Piper looks great, and as with all the Lyons aircraft, it has that special feeling of an old aircraft, with nice vintage curtains. Looks Like Bill and Lynn Lyons have released another one of their "gems" in the Custom Classics Collection, this one is number VII, a Classic Piper Apache 1954 vintage. As with all of their packages this one is complete with customized name plates, scenery and a few other Lyons' goodies. Hi guys, Have a look below. I am experiencing a very abnormal effect lately, since I downloaded Chris's fantastic FSW cloud fix for FS9. I did not have this effect with my sky before the fix and I have never had any problems with Chris's work. As you can see from the attachments there is this rectangular white or grey patch hanging in, above or around the clouds. Now the clouds look great so I really don't think this is a result of using Chris's files. There seems to be a patch looming in the high skies. I was wondering if I was maybe missing some essential texture files that I may have inadvertently deleted in my never ending quest to tweak the sim...LOL. Has anyone e…

Some have been getting good overcast in FS 2004. I have have be experimenting with it a bit, because I get a "hole of visibility" that follows me through overcast, and then I can see the ground from above. The learning center has two statements on the subject:"Note: Rendering solid overcast conditions in Flight Simulator requires a lot of video processing power.
