After uninstalling both FSX and FSX-SE, in order to have just one install of FSX-SE at default locations. It didn't work. When I reinstall SE, it still uses 'FSX-SE' as folder names for the config files. This means that when I run scenery installers, they say 'can't find scenery.cfg'. Don't suppose its ok to simply rename those folders. Any ideas?

  2. There's a lot of interest in the ICON A5 personal plane....and recently, I've been reading about it in many different periodicals and other sources. I really would enjoy flying a beautifully crafted version of this plane with high quality cockpit, exterior, flight dynamics, etc.in FSX. I do have that very weak version that surfaced in 2009 for FSX after the plane appeared in Microsoft FLIGHT. The plane in MS Flight isn't really that bad; I'd like to see a good one in FSX. Any word of anyone developing one? I'd gladly pay for a high quality version of that plane. Stan

I recently posted a thread about upgrading my video card on my old PC to improve FSX Gold performance. From information since gained I have had to accept that it is not viable to make any hardware change as the basic machine just isn't good enough. In the light of that I have started to think of buying a used gaming PC as a replacement. I have seen several topics about this and seen that it is suggested that a big case with a quad core intel 5 and GTX460 graphics card or higher plus a PSU of at least 650 watts and some good DDR3 Ram of at least 1600Mhz CL9 would be good. Unfortunately after looking at eBay etc. the cost of an intel i5 machine is above the lim…

  5. Hello, I have perfect day textures but my night ones are glossy and a bit blurry. Is there any setting in Nvidia or FSX that I can do set to fix this. I have everything on 32 bit. Hi, I'm really enjoying the new visuals that the demo gives a peak at...the world definitely feels more alive and vibrant. The night environment is a little wierd for me though. These are my observations:While the stars look great, the reflections in the water really should be toned down or removed altogether. Maybe in a millpond will you see the reflections of stars, but not at 10,000 feet in the ocean. The moon seems to cast way too much of a reflection in the water, it's almost a blinding white in a large area. I've read that there may be reflection problems. The blotchy patches of haze (Milkyway) going through the middle of the night sky really takes away from the r…

  8. Started by tamsini,

Hello all, is anyone having the same problem as me with OpusFSX and the new structure in v3? Example, with RealAir's Turbo Duke, since it is installed outside the main P3D folder, OpusFSX does not "see it" in order to configure the cockpit views. Is it perhaps just OpusFSI that is compatible? Thanks!

  9. Apologies if this question has been asked a lot before, but I've searched everywhere and tried everything and I'm still getting blurry ground textures on FSX. I'm running an i5 4670k, 8GB RAM, GTX 760 and I have FSX installed on its own hard drive. I've tried quite a few fsx.cfg tweaks (set LOD RADIUS to 6.5, AffinityMask=14...), I'm using Nvidia Inspector and have tried changing settings there, but none of this seems to be having much of an effect. I have all sliders at max, frames locked at 30, and this doesn't seem to cause any problems as I get smooth performance, but the only problem is that ground textures look bad. I tried deleting my fsx.cfg to get …

At one time, on another computer, I had two utilities that i now can't find. One was a trim program that used the main control, stick or yoke, to center the vertical trim. The other pulled up a diagram of an FSX airport showing the parking spots. I've been unable to locate either. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

  11. Started by metalmike,

I've noticed lately that any airport for which I have a third-party afcad installed (not a full scenery package, just an afcad, for example Ray Smith's stuff), I get autogen textures/buildings on top of the airport, as well as some elevation issues sometimes. Does anybody have any idea? I do run FTX Global/Vector/openLC(where applicable). I suspect something might have gone awry with my scenery library, but not sure.

Hi, I am just wondering whether there are some more or less detailed freeware airport around from Africa. I am aware of google and certain sites to look for, however, I don't wanna try every single file. Africe is actually a pretty interesting continent to explore. But default airport are boring.

After installing QW757 I go into FSX and I get an FSUIPC4 duplicate notification error. After doing a Windows search and a manual search for the elusive dupilcate FSUIPC4.dll ... there isn't any duplicate. No re-named FSUIPC.dll's - nothing. I'm guessing that when I installed the QW757 it wanted to install an included copy of FSUIPC4 and I stupidly allowed that install. I checked the dll.xml and the proper FSUIPC4.dll entries are present (compared against a backup copy). I don't know where else to look, any ideas? Thanks & rgds to all, Walter

  15. Lots of news in this FSL post of course, but I think the FSX crowd in general and especially the ones currently lacking the nice Concorde X in FSX-SE will be happy about the progress. Late but very welcome! http://forums.flightsimlabs.com/index.php?/topic/6040-fslabs-products-a320-x-concorde-x-spotlights-a-long-update/

  16. Hi all, I'm interested in flying a bit nostalgic and flying my regular routes with old aircraft. However, routes such as Brisbane to Sydney or Sydney to Melbourne are sparse in terms of NDBs and VORs, with only a couple at each end of the respective routes. Back in the day, 727s were used very commonly on these routes, and I'm just wondering, how would they have navigated (before the days of GPS of course)? Thanks in advance!

  17. i recently installed REX4 Texture Direct with Soft Clouds. In the General Setting section there is a spot for the bath to a weather engine. I thought that is what Rex4 Texture Direct with Soft Clouds was doing. I once owned an early version of REX2, and it (so i thought) pulled weather information from external sources and generated weather in FSX. So then, What is REX4 Texture Direct with Soft Clouds if it is not a Weather Engine? I am not interested in buyng another tool because for weather. That is why I bought REX4 Texture Direct with Soft Clouds. I am looking at free options like FSXWX (http://www.plane-pics.de/fsxwx/home.htm) but I want to ask you buys abou…

  18. HI, I have just noticed I no longer have any splash screen (illumination) for taxi or landing lights on the Capt Sim 737-200 and 757 as well default 737, airbus and none of the JF A318-320 lite aircraft and LVLD 767. Not sure but I thought I did have the splash screen on all the CS, LVLD and JF planes. Checked effects and texture folders, the effects folder found "fx_HS-Landing_lights" and in texture there are some landing light bitmaps. I did a reinstall of JF planes but still no go with landing/taxi lites shown on the runways. I do use DX10 but have had no problems in the past. Any help is appreciated.

Hi ! Last week I bought this add-on, installed it following carefully the installation manual and it doesn't work. I have been in connection with the product support for 3 days, on Simflight.com, with no result. Does anybody have installed this add-on on FSX SE/Windows10? Thanks a lot for your answers!

  21. Does any of the available MCE products ( fs2crew, etc... ) allow for interaction with ATC to be fully performed by the co-pilot ? Say you're simulating a long haul and want to go to sleep :-) Can any of the MCE programs do that for you, so that when you return to the "cockpit" you can push the task back to you?

I've just installed three simulators on a clean Windows (64bit) PC: FSX Accell FSX-SE P3Dv3 All that's been added to each installation is my FSGenisis mesh. Before I start adding software, anyone want any side-by-side tests running?

  23. Does any of the ATC robots available for FSX allow for requests for diversion around significant weather areas ? Say you're enroute and ahead a big CB is showing it's echoes, and you want to vector away from it... Are the available ATC programs wise enough to comply with such situations ?

I'm having trouble getting on the A2A Forum that's why I'm here. My question is when I fly the Camanchee and go to an external view of the pilots door, it is lit up like there's a light shining on it . Is this normal ? There's no light shining on the co-pilot side. The door is lit up even in the day.

Any of you with this setup and no problems ? I ask because sometime ago I made the STUPID move of buying P3Dv2.5, just 1 month before v3 was release :-/, and even worst - the 2nd 777 by PMDG to run with it :-/// So, I am considering installing P3Dv2.5 just to run the 777, and then have FSX:SE for the rest ( NGX and A2A stuff, RealAir stuff will also go P3Dv2.5... ). Any problems with such a co-existence of sims ? ( I'm also posting this at the P3D forum ... )
