Raimondo Taburet just released 3 zip files with complete US coverage of roads and rails and he said to use them with the water/stream/lake package. The pics look amazing and it seems like we will finally have an accurate feel of what the US looks like. I cannot find the water package though. Hope AVSIM loads it up tonight.

Hi All, after installing an addon my exit open, wing fold and tailhook messages have disappeared.I searched the forum but didnt find anything similar.any ideas? the brake and park brake messages appear normally,thanks for the helpStan

I fly mainly slow GA planes. When I fly IFR I discovered that FS2004 built-in offline ATC starts vectoring me for final approach about 50NM from destination. While this distance is OK for fast flying ariliner is to far away for GA plane. I prefer flying according to my flight plan.Is there any way to convince FS2004 ATC to start vectoring when I'm closer to the airport, lets say abuot 20NM?

Hello,Just a sim pilot here. I am learning to fly the DF727 - a really intense sim for me. To practice, I am flying freight flights of about 500nm. I had a problem with cockpit alarms until I realized that I was avoiding Press'n Control.I am fine in setting up the pressure settings from ground to cruise alt. My question is - as I descend in stages, do I have to reset the aircraft altitude control to each new setting or is it OK at the highest setting so long as the cabin alt is lower than the cruise alt.Sorry if this is confusing!!!!Thanks in advance and happy flying,Ron SagelNear KCHS

I have downloaded and installed the fs9enov4 bluesphere textures. Do these textures cover the whole earth?After starting FS9 I didn't get a window telling me the new scenery was created and updated. I usually get this after installing new scenery. I don't find any folder called Bluesphere. Can I be certainI now have this Bluesphere textures. (I tested at SAVE in Sweden)These textures has been describes as the best available (even better than FScene). I don't think there is asignificant improvement. I can see snow covered areas, but still rather repetive. Can someone point out where the difference are clearly visible? I have the Europe fall FScene textures. Here I see sign…

Have a little problem with a 707 ad-on being recognized correctly by atc. Went from being refered to as Experimential to Boeing, but cannot get it to say "Boeing 707", just says "Boeing". Maybe this is a quirk of FS9. Have set up aircraft cfg. properly, atc calls me by the company I am flying, so no problem there. Any Ideas?This is my ID in the CFG. I was wondering if there is any "tweaking" that has to be done to the FS9.cfg file in order to get these textures to display properly...I am asking because I get this "bubble effect" that follows my plane, where the textures look great for a couple of miles around the aircraft but look terrible/blurred outside this "bubble" and towards the horizon.I

Hi all I wonder if any of you guys could give me some advise, my present hard drive is near full its a 20gig 4 years old prob 5400rpm, I have just got a western digital 40gig 8mb cache 7200rpm they are both IDE, now to get the best results from F/SIM 2002 with VFR photo scenery would I be better just fitting the new hard drive and removing the old one, or would the sim run just as well with 2 hard drives fitted, I am trying not to have to do a full reinstall, my sys is windows ME 930mhz P3.if I did just install the new hard drive would it be possible to copy the contents of the old to the new one.Regards Nick in the UK.

I wonder if anyone has tried running FS9(.1) on the beta Windows XP Pro 64-bit O/S (and, obviously, a supported 64-bit CPU, like the AMD FX55). Even though FS9 is not a 64-bit programme, I'd be interested to know the effect of running it on the 64-bit O/S and CPU combination, as compared to a 32-bit setup.Martin S.(Am I posting this in the right forum???? :-) )

I am having problems with the Atis at LAX in the past few weeks. When I set my wind at 250 at x knots it still says arrivals and departures are on 7L and 7R, 6L and 6R. It should be 25L and 25R and 24L and 24R. Other aiports are fine like KSNA uses 19L and 19R according to the wind direction. Any ideas why this might be? I had been running a week ago and incindently my scheduled virus scan came on when I was running the program. I also had some problems installing the FSkyworld at first and a few broken files caused fs to crash a few times. Could this have caused the problem?Any info would be helpful.Thank You,

Hello Avsim friends!I just downloaded Posky's 757-200 and took it for a spin and then noticed something :( - a really excessive nose-up attitude in the cruise. I recall during my FS2000 days a stunning approach through what I believe was a valley to a runway in Western Pennsylvania. I believe it was north of Pittsburgh or nearby. Does anyone have a clue as to what airport I'm thinking of? I'd like to do it again in FS9. Thanks.

Given that the year is drawing to a close, I thought it might be interesting to reflect on what you consider to be the most memorable General Discussion forum thread of 2004.Even though I'm more of a 'lurker than a poster' myself, one thread that springs to my mind drew on the excitement generated by the recent release of the DF727. You could almost feel the vibe radiating from the screen in front of you & even though many of you big posters chipped in, from memory it was drama-free! ;)Course, it doesn't have to be the longest thread but obviously there'd presumably be quite a few replies.What do you think?Cheers & happy holidays :)Josh

This problem seems to come and go. Whenever I use realtime weather updates it seems that when I am performing a normal takeoff the airplane will either go hard left or hard right on the runway and I simply cannot recover. I tried unplugging the throttle and joystick but the problem persists. Usually I get a little bit of drift on the runway (even with the worst weather conditions) and I can easily compensate for it but now the aircraft simply seems to go out of control. The annoying part is that this problem did not exist a couple of days ago yet it creeps up out of nowhere. What's even more confusing is that the problem goes away if I create my own weather conditions or …

I just completed a repaint of the Avanti and I am trying to add it to the game with no luck.I tried following the instructions for adding these files but they don't seem to be working. On the site, it suggests, "See the Avanti's Repaint Kit Instructions for further details." Well, those instructions are for the Navajo. So no joy there....Can somebody who maybe has done an Avanti repaint, or is currently working on one, help me out please?Thx!

After trying to get Lennarts texture working I know only get error messages telling me about missing files and then Fs9.1 crashes to the desktop when I try to load a flight.One mistake I'm aware of is that I first directly copied the winter season into the scenery/world folder. Then I found the documentation and tried follow its instruction. Then after using the supplied texture switch utility everything got really messed up. I don't understand what this utility does.Also should I really completely remove the texture folder from scenery/world? I did it was back later. Also the folder for the area I select in texture switch is not present any more in scenery/world.I don't …
