Now it hit me. I have read about this in almost any FS forum but it seems noone has come up with a solution. My ATC text disappared. I mean not the spoken messages which you can configure in the ATC menu but the selections which usually always appear.Anyone found out what causes this?Alex

Is anyone seeing terrain mesh errors when running TERRAIN_MAX_VERTEX_LEVEL at a value of 21. I am using UK VFR Terrain, and wish to get the full benefit, but I keep getting troughs appearing that bare no relation to the landscape (see picture below).http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/101828.jpgThis problem occurs even when I disable the VFR terrain package, and was not one I encountered when running FS2002.Has anyone else had this problem and/or resolved it?Many thanksSatchmo

Hello,does anyone know if we can use keyboard assignments, and then convert them to Joystick assignments to controll the vertical speed and altitude settings in FS9 at all,ie set up a keyboard assignment to increase or decrease the feet per min up or down of the vertical speed, and the same for the actual altitude setting?thanks in advance.

I purchaced the Abacus VC-10 a while ago then got distracted by all the fabulous add-ons we've been treated to this bumper year. I've only just noticed there is now a version 1.5. I just want to pass this along as another way the wonderful world of PCs can play with our minds.Over the last two months I had worked on tweaking my year and a half old system - a VIA P4 3.0Gig RAID -ATI9700PRO ya da ya da ya . . .After a lot of tweaking I had my system where I liked it for many weeks - I could run most sliders full right with "easy" aircraft in easy areas, backing off just a little in those tough a/c or dense areas. I run UT + GA Traffic bgls at 80%, some times 100% in remote areas. With the default start up at SEA I could get 20-22 fps in the Cessna, Max Density and Autogen, 80% traffic. I was happy with that. Im very interested, but I worry how it will affect my frame rates. Ive seen what happens when I boost the in-game traffic setting above 20%.Im running:AMD64 3400+1 Gig PC3200(I think)Radeon 9600Pro 128MBI'd like to have more traffic and the idea of real time traffic is really interesting. I'd also like to hear how well its intergrated into the sim and its ATC.

I'm a new user here, so forgive me if I goof up, but...I'm trying to install and run FS2004 on a Windows 98 machine. I HAD it running just fine, but decided I'd try upgrading my video drivers since I couldn't see the gauge panel. (nVidia GeForce Fx5200)I don't know if it's the video drivers update or what, but suddenly I can't get FS to run at all. I've uninstalled and reinstalled FS 3 different times in 3 different directories with no success. It seems a lot of people are having trouble installing these textures, so I am going to try give a walkthrough.This assume you know how the windows filesystem work.Everything we do inside fs will be shown as: .../scenery/world/ because some may not have fs installed in default location. This example shows we are inside "your fs folder"/scenery/world/1. Copy/unzip the content of the textures switch zip to .../scenery/world. Hi allout of the blue yesterday,fs2004's flight planner has started to lockup when i try to create a IFR flight plan.it will let me pick start and finish airports and also IFR flight..but when i try to create the flight plan it locks up and all the buttons go dead.grrr.i've tried a fresh Fs9.cfg,but that didn't work.i haven't added anything,that i didn't have when it worked before.so its all a bit of a mystery.i can load a previously made flight plan.just can't create new ones.... any ideas thanks steve

i posted this but it didn't get through so i'll try again. in a nutshell here's my problem. i like smooth, stutter free performance and i get it even when downloading real weather with cloudy harsh conditions. at a price though, i have to run at 600x800 resolution and that limits me to the default aircraft. let me say again that i can fly without being concerned about any sort of bad weather. problem is i have a few addon aircraft that need to be run at 1024x768 resolution. they run fine but if i download real weather and the conditions are bad i take a framerate hit when looking out the side window. down in the lower teens and framerate is locked at 20. i hate to give up…

I installed Lennart's textures. I think I put everything where it belongs. I'm not sure I see any difference. Where exactly should I expect to see these new textures? As I understand it, they only cover part of North America, but I don't recall if anything has identified exactly what part.Has anyone else had these results, or am I missing something?Thanks.Dewey

Here is it:I lost all my files cause i installed a driver that caused my computer to freeze.... So now i have finally installed FS and stuff again (luckily i had a backup of my traffic tools and aircraft folder, thank G0D! So.... In all airports, the grass is very very green, but i remember installing something, or changing something in a CFG file, to remove the surface grass, and that made the ground look more realistic... Maybe it's just me but I can't find the download for the latest FSE module on Lago's site. After reading the post on their site it said it will be released today. Avsim this might take the wind out of some's sails if Lago postpones this release... :-roll

Hello Avsim friends :)I am swamped with data overload! The *staggering* number of freeware mesh-add ons out there have got the better of me and I dont know where to start. I thought this would be the best place since many of you probably have what Im looking for:Good freeware add-on mesh for the entire USA. Just downloaded the dreamwings dash 8, since i wasnt able to run it on my old system. thought id try it out. I was reading up about new Microsoft Releases and found this site with a list of releases in 2005 from MS:http://bink.nu/?ArticleID=3126Anyway - I couldn't find FS2006 on the list (although it does say it's not a comprehensive list), and just wondered if anyone had any news or sites with good sources for news on it?Have MS already said that this is somthing that they are working on, or are we assuming that? I got a new ViewSonic VE175 17" LCD from Santa and decided to try out a dual monitor setup. So the LCD is connected to the 15-pin VGA connector on my HIS ICEQ Excalibur 9800pro. I have my old Acer V771 17" monitor connected to my DVI-I to VGA adapter. Now the problem is this. The Acer monitor mirrors everything on the LCD. how can I switch between monitors? I want to set my LCD to panel view and the Acer as a spot view. I'm using the latest ATI catalyst drivers.Thanks for any advice in advance
