Greetings.With FS9, we have different levels of mip maps. I'm not sure how many but lets assum there are three (3) types-mipmap_1 = BEST Qualitymipmap_2 = Average Quality (little blurry)mipmap_3 = Poor (blurry)Based on these mipmaps, the Flight Sim Engine will load Autogen before it loads mipmap_1. I can conclude that the FSA Engine loads the textures LAST.My question is the following:1. Can we make the sim NOT load mipmap_2 and mipmap_3?2. Can we create a utility that pretends the Flight Sim is flying around a redius continually so that it continuously loads the textures? I just received my Christmas present from my oldest daughter and Grandson ( suggested by me, of course) , a copy of Computer Pilot Magazine. It even came with a full page insert with a Merry Christmas and their names on it. I used to subscribe to this magazine years ago and was curious as to how it was doing now. The magazine, is excellent. Good quality paper, photos, articles and looks like it is a truly professional publication. I've just downloaded Hector Molina's 340 v5.0 panel and I can't get the gauges to display. I know in his readme.txt file he says that everything starts off dark and that you have to switch the Main Battery Switch to ON to get the gauges to display. Well, I did this, and nothing happens! The lights work, the engines are on and running, the autopilot works (yes and I took off without any gagues working), and everything else seems to function. Am I missing something here? I believe I've got all the required files, I just don't know what is going on. I'd appreciate some responses to this as I would really love to try out the A340.Thanks!!

For framerate improvements, first I set up on my favorite airfield. With the aircraft parked, and framerates turned on so I can see the effect of changes as I make them.... Then, wait until the framerate goes through an entire cycle of number changes. First, I use _only_ GMAX addon aircraft. If you just do a search using GMAX you will find many aircraft. Second, I use GA-Traffic to create all GA traffic. In this program, you can even convert normal GA aircraft to AI aircraft. Instead of using frame rate hogs for AI aircraft. The festive season has given me a lot time to play with all the junkies that I have collected impulsively over the years. I found that the following goodies have given me the highest satisfaction in the lsat couple of days of flying. As you can see from the combination, I am not the type who cares much about the sequence of buttons and swithes to press in order to start the engines or getting the right temperature in the cabin. Happy New Year to everyone.I've been reluctant to install the v9.1 upgrade because it seems from reading the forums it can be quite a problematic process.My decision to attempt to upgrade is to 'hopefully' resolve a CTD problem when leaving or entering the boundary limits of NL2000 V2.91.Their forum contributors suggest the upgrade might solve the problem but the NL2000 authors are still trying to find a fix for it.Having carefully read the FS2004 9.1 update install instructions, there is nothing there that I can relate to, to resolve the "could not be sucessfully installed" message I keep on receiving after each attempt to install. i have a 21" monitor but whats the difference with playing games in 1024 x 768 compared with 1200 x 1600 besides the fact everything is smaller in 1200 x 1600 ?

Hi all,My soon to be Father-in-law had his first experience of Flight Sim today. I'm lucky to have a yoke, pedals, CH Throttle and console for my GoFlight, so it's a fairly intimidating set up to a newbie. I demonstrated a circuit to him, and invited him to have a go. Tom is a very intelligent, unflusterable man, but he was so absorbed he was shaking, and so overwhelmed, forgot left from right! I think he really enjoyed it.His father was a bomb aimer on Halifax's in World War II, and to this end Tom has asked me to get hold of a Halifax so that he can at least have some impression of the plane his dad served on. Just for fun (and something to do), earlier today I set myself up at Bangkok in the C4 SST (the next timezone to ring in the new year at that time), with the intention of seeing how many times I could ring in the new year in different timezones (while on the ground at a major city's airport). Needless to say, even at Mach 2.0, I wasn't even close to being able to make Dhaka in time for the next New Years, though maybe if I had set Mach 2 as I passed 10,000' instead of 30,000'...... HI,When I am in the air in Spot Plane view, the plane undulates in an up & down wavelike motion. This is not a weather condition. I have updated the video card driver w/the ATI 4.12 driver & had not noticed this condition before. I also tried the 4.11 with the same results.Is it possible this driver update could cause this condition or what else could be the cause of it? the file for the augusta 109gmax by alan devins lists an autopilot. i see the flight director on the instrument panel but it doesn't work. is it there just for looks or is it supposed to be a working autopilot. i have been trying to find an ifr bell 222 panel with garmin 530 and working autopilot, but i'm okay slumming it with an augusta if it has these features. i would appreciate any help, i am a pro helo pilot, but am new to the sim world; other than the standard msfs aircraft. thanks for any help out there..

I just recently started having problems with FS9 freezing up and then generating the "Your computer has run out of available memory..." error when on final approach to Simflyer's KATL. My computer is not overheated, it has plenty of memory (both hardrive and ram) and I've also increased my Page File setting on my DELL XPS from default 1536MB to 2536MB based on Eric's past success. However, fs9 still freezes up on final at SF's KATL. Could part of the problem be because I just recently installed fsgenesis American Data - could there be a bgl problem? I have a certain number of Photorealistic sceneries installedwhich fail to show on the sim are display incorrectlyafter installing Lennart's textures.For example in my UK VFR scenery shows for the most partbut here and there some tiles fail to display.Other sceneriesfail to display all together. I just finished watching worldairroutes Cubana dvd. I was impressed with the shaking and rumbling sound in the cockpit as the plane accelerated down the runway. Was wondering whether anyone had done some sounds that simulate these noises. Take-off in FS9 always feels like you're gliding down a rail on air.ricardo

No problems there.If I create new textures and edit the CFG file (fltsim#, texture line, ui_variation & description) the new variations do not show up on the dropdown list (yes, the texture.# folder exists and has the correct files).Just as a test, I copied and pasted within the DC3 aircraft.cfg the same info but changed the fltsim# up one, updated the texture line(texture=4) and copied and pasted the texture folder into a new name (texture.4) The "new" variation did not show on the dropdown l…

Hi all.Still having problems with project Fokker calling out "sink rate" when on final. I

I am finally flying twin engine planes in FS after only flying single engine props. I have a CH yoke and pedals.I want to use the yoke as much as possible for the controls. Right now, the Throttle, Prop, Mixture and Cowl Flaps control both engines. Does anyone know if there is an easy to make it so that a key press and hold (i.e. Ctrl), along with one of these controls, will only affect one engine at a time? That way the default will be both engines, but pressing Ctrl and using the Throttle say will only affect the left, and pressing Alt and using the Throttle will only affect the right. Any other tips of configuring controls to fly twin engine aircraft would be gre…

My FS2004 is crashing to the desktop on some places (for example area of Milan or Tbilisi) during winter season. I tried to reinstall default FS textures for all seasons, removed all sceneries in this areas, but nothing helpes :-( .... during other seasons or during night is everything OK.Any suggestions?
