Hi, My System is as follows:-Processor: Athlon XP3000+ (333) Operating System: Win XP Home Mobo: MSI KT4 UltraRAM: 2 x 512 PC3200 U/C 333Video: XFX 6600GT DDR3 128mbStorage: 200gbAudio: SB Audigy 2I just upgraded the Graohics card from a G4ti4200 128mb to a XFX 6600GT DDR3 128mb. Improvement is not as great as I expected, although to be fair the AA & AF can now be turned way up! I run @ 1024 x 768 as I only have a 17" CRT. What I want to know is the following....Should AA be set using Nvidia properties & also set in the Options/Settings/Display, or should it be turned off in Nvidia Properties & set in FS or set in Vividia Properties & off in FS??I remember…

I would like to know who all flies in real time? I mean it must take a really good while to get from London to New York. Or do you guys just press pause when you have to go to the bathroom? Or maybe there is a time to time ratio that you all follow. Care to lay it on the table?

I have this "obsession" that's kind of driving me nuts. I just feel like I always have to fly from where I left off. It teaches me more about geography than I will get from just reading or looking at maps, and you learn to appreciate distances. But sometimes I feel like flying somewhere that I'm not close to- like cruising around Vegas after I just landed the Robinson somewhere in PA. When I do fly it though, although it's fun- I feel like I cheated. Do I have a problem, or do others like to fly this way? I would like to see the whole FS world, but I feel like it will take WAY too long this way. What's a good "excuse" that I can tell myself so I don't feel like I'…

While winds can be set up for individual reporting sites, and real-world winds can be imported, I am interested in identifying an app to allow me to define winds over a route and load them without the effort involved in using the one-by-one entry method. If someone can point me towards either a weather package or direct interface with the wind model in FS9, I'd appreciate it.I am running a lab project using FS9 and the PMDG package to look at time-dependent trajectories for air carriers, and this would allow me to fly the city pair trials with defined winds at various flight levels.I'm also interested in 'freezing' the winds and weather for the duration of the flight; ho…

I hate needing to wait until Im 50nm from my destination before I can get the ATIS to have an idea what the active runway is. I also hate that I cant monitor both ATC and ATIS once im in range.I want to know if there is some way to check the weather at your destination, maybe even get a TAF?Also, is there anyway to monitor both radio frequencies...maybe I just dont know what Im doing.

I've been thinking of installing Pietro Mauri's set of Mesh files forvarious European countries. Would be very grateful for any comments from those who have already installed it. I'm wonderingif this mesh is good enough or whether buying a payware packagewould make that much difference. Thanks

I am looking to purchase a Boeing jet simulation. I may only buy one of these. I am looking for the best quality add-on, at a reasonable price, with lots of documentation and modeling of the different systems to keep me busy. I am somewhat partial to the older jets. Here is what I have found out on the market right now:Captain Sim-----------Boeing 707 300/320 (FS2004) ($37.07)Boeing 727 100/200 (FS2002/4) ($36.95)DreamFleet----------Boeing 727 100/200 (FS2004) ($34.95)Boeing 737 200 (not yet released) PMDG----Boeing 737 600/700 (FS2002/4) ($39.95)Boeing 737 800/900 (FS2002/4) ($67.90 with 600/700)Boeing 747 400 (not yet released) Ralph's Panel Shop------------------Bo…

Well, I had my try with the demo of MaxiVista. It is an app tha allows you to run windowed apps on 2nd PC. Its a piece of cake to install. Fs2004 Has to be in windowed mode for it to work. I tested with default cessna at some big airport, don't remember the small stuff. also loaded up AS2004 and FSNAV. I took off and opend up the radio stack, udocked it and slid it to 2nd PC screen, Opened up the fsgps and slid it to the 2nd screen. Hit F9 and opened FSNav undocked it and slid it to the 2nd PC screen. I have my fps locked at 30, and even at large airport I never go lower than 20 usualy stays at 28.5. With all this going My fps was running at 10 to 15. not much fun compare…

I think I have found a way to cure the out of memory errors I have been getting and this may help those that are still getting them. I increased my Page File setting from the default 1533MB to by 500MB to 2033MB. Since then when flying into say Simflyers PHX which usually took like 10 seconds to load or would crash with an out of memory error, it loads up in like 2-3 seconds now...and no out of memory errors. Now for the computer gurus out there....is this safe to do?Under the Virtual Memory menu, it says Space Available as 278560MB. I have the initial size at 2033MB and maximum size at 4090MB. The XP recommendation is 1533MB for the initial size. Am I assuming correctly …

I just finished a dawn/evening flight in the Avanti by FSD in the pnw (KRDD--KEUG)Very beautiful VC. Nice flight. Fps constant and high enough. You do have to read up in the POH and use the 2D panel sometimes, but it is a great buy IMHOI was cautious buying this but am very pleased. Some reported that you cannot use the HDG bug in VC but I have always used assigned-by-me keyboard shortcuts of F9/F10 for the -/+ increments of the Hdg bug. This works fine enough. Ive always used it this way anyway. The interior lighting for the cabin is nicest with the panel light set to off. Using active camera a great help too. But i spent most of my time in the VC. Overall I had a satisfa…

  21. Do the default 'Wind Socks' in FS2k4 display the proper wind direction??? On my system that doesn't seem to be the case because ATC always clears me to a runway contrary to the direction the wind sock is blowing. My first time flying a 737 ATC had me 2,000ft above the Glide-slope at the FAF(I know, technically its the FAF whe you intercept the GS at the assigned altitude). I assumed my descent rate was enough. So another day I decide to increase my descent rate next time I was beng vectored for final...this time I came within a couple hundered feet of slamming into the mountains for the SUNOL interection. I was at the instructed altitude, but I guess I got there too soon(I had to cross the hill-line to reach the ILS localizer. So I figure maybe ATC expects a certain descent rate to not come in too high for approach, but to also clear obstacles along your path that are near or a…
