hi all,I recently posted in the hardware part of this forum regarding fs9 freezing randomly. the only remedy was to do a hard reset on the pc - not so good.I had recently installed a BFG Tech GeForce 6600GT overclocked card and a new 400Watt psu.after much messing about on forums and various websites, i could find no reason why this should be happening. my pc is more than capable of running this card and fs9. it runs my other games fine e.g. FarCry.My last straw was to uninstall everything flight sim related. I also cleaned my hd using some fantastic free programs that delete broken links, empty folders etc.I reinstalled fs9 and so far so good. i am finally running it…

Hello,When directed by ATC - what exactly does "RESUME OWN NAVIGATION" mean?If I am flying with an FMS or GPS - does that mean that I can use my course/speed to get to the next WP until new instructions come from ATC?I am begining to fly bigger A/C with ATC and I am confused here.Thanks,Ron SagelNear KCHS

For some strange reason, I can not rename my FS2004 folder if I want to create a dummy to first check out an installation. I can clear the memory with some tweak program - or do any other silly trick, it refuses!Any reason why ...?RegardsT

Hello simmer friends :)I know this is just an eye-candy issue but I enjoy taking screenshots and posting them in forums and this problem is ruining things :(When I fly the iFDG 767-300 all is normal - until I reach cruise altitude. When I switch to external view to take some screenshots the visual model of the plane becomes "hollow". Does the DF 727 require a lot of initial homework and cockpit setup/prep before flying the bird or can you jump in and take off as with the CS 727? Can you load a warm DF 727 in Fs9 and just roll? Appreciate any guidance on this, thanks!JS

Hello All,I've encontered an odd problem in the last two days. The sim behaves as normal but AFTER I shut it down I get the "fs9 has encountered a problem" box which names the weather.dll as the culprit. This happens every time I close the sim.Weather functions and everything else seems fine while I am flying, just this message on shut down.The only mods I have done in the last couple of days are an uninstallation and reinstallation of Lago FSE (another story), and changing my graphics processor latency to 64. Hello all, I just got my TrackIR 3 Pro + vector expantion today. I installed the latest driver from the web site, restarted then ran TrackIR. I ticked the tick box for Flight in the available profiles and when I click edit to view the heads, gauges and tracking, all is super smooth and accurate. the tracking box has 3 well defined green rectangles with no other light polution displayed. The do what I expect them to do smoothly. So I click OK and close to tray TrackIR, start FS2004 or Pacific Fighters and much to my supprise tracking in the virtual cockpits is hugly errattic with big jumps and long pauses, 4/5 sec or so. I've spent this week trying to figure out why FS9 now usually crashes (freezes more or less irredeemably) on approach into EGLL. I get to within 1 nm to 8nm of landing and the sim freezes. I've tried it in the POSKY 742 and also the default 744. Same happens at Gatwick airport. Everywhere else in the world seems fine. Don't always get a freeze but about 80-90% of the time. Some folks at the UT forum think this might be an AI a/c issue and that perhaps one of the UT a/c has become corrupted for some reason or other. Earlier, I reduced AI to 0% and no freeze occurred. I then tried at 10% and all fine. When I raised AI to 35% and above, the freezes re-occurred.I don…

Is the primary purpose of wing spoiler to reduce the lift but not reduce speed?As I know some aircraft approach with their tail spoiler or fuselage spoiler extended, like the Fokker 28, F16 and many others. WHY ??? Isn't this practice inefficient? Hi guysI got an old monitor and itss necessary to incerase my brightness/gamma cos it's too dark.Everything seems work great until im trying to run FS.After a couple of sec's all settings are going to default and i need to incerase them again when flying (powerstrip-ctr+shift+Num+).It's a bit annoying so is there any trick to fix that?I got Radeon 9550 (omega drivers,400@500).Thx for help.

I Have a very odd sound problem. When I click a button in some aircraft, I get a VERY loud sound in my right speaker/headphone. The sound goes away when I look left or right, and remains gone when I return to ahead view. I first noticed this with the Aldus MD80, but have now noticed it in other aircraft as well. I have tried to adjust hardware acceleration, sound quality etc. But the problem stil comes back. It is driving me crazy. Any sugestions?

Because of FSNav I really hadn't explored the use of Flight Planner in FS2004 until recently. I have been using it lately and I'm enjoying it when ATC remembers me when I approach the target airport. It sure isn't rocket science. I've found that it does remember me at times and at other times ATC will let me fly right on bye the target without so much as a "how do you do." Then I find myself way too high with the need to shed 20,000 plus feet of altitude, and then relying on FSNav to get me down in proper position to land.I think I'm following all of the proper steps in the planning, printing and editing of the plan. After some problems with my system, I reinstalled FS9. I installed FSW's high performance clouds, the resized autogen textures, and the Aiport Environment Upgrade. I reset all of my settings to their previous values.Now, instead of being locked at 31 practically all the time, I get only 27 on the ground in the default Cessna. I would like to use a different weather server than the one FS9 uses. I believe FS9 downloads weather from http://fs2k.zone.com and I would prefer to download the weather from NOAA website. Does anybody know how to do this - or must I buy a specific weather program such as ActiveSky?Thanksmerritt

I always add a source statement in the 'description= ' line of the aircraft cfg when I add-on an aircraft or a re-paint. It helps me keep track of where I got the files; the author and helps me identify the precise folder if I have texture or panel problem.Since I've installed the 9.1 patch, I have noticed that on some aircraft, that entire description= statement is overwritten by the airfile contents and on others it is not. The syntax I use is identical from cfg to cfg and in all cases the cfg is not a 'read only' file.Does any one know what the discriminator is and how to disable it? If I add a custom description in the cfg, I want it to stay there.BobL
