HiI need some help. I have two flat monitors on order from Dell (they were cheap via work) so I need to get a graphic card for dual monitors.I have a Dell Dimension 8200 P4 2.4 1GB Ram AGPx4 and 400FSB and I am running a GeForce 3 Ti 500 64mb. FS2004 is OK but gets a bit clonky round the airports with PMDG737 running. What I need is the best Graphic card for my system - ie I can get an ATI Radeon X800 XTPE 256mb, but I suspect I will be saddling a great card with an average system by todays standards - or am I wrong?.Any thoughts would be welcomeStephen

Hi:I was getting 1 stutter on flaring in big airports such as Sea-Tac. Based on a member's post, I reduced textures to one notch below massive. Sure enough, no more stutters. I was wondering if anyone has found a way to do away with stutters, but still keep the massive textures which make the big hubs look so good. My specs: fx55, 1 gig 3200 duel, x800xt 256. Agp Ap at 128, all latencies at 64 or below. Thanks

OK sorry if the title sounded like an advert but I got a bit excited about scenery I recently purchased designed by German FS company Sim-wings.A couple of years back I had a flying holiday with some fellow PPL's on the Cote D'Azur. We flew down to Cannes with one of our club aircraft (Robin DR400) based in the UK and spent an amazing week flying up and down the French Riviera onwards to Provence and down into Spain. Since then I have been looking for accurate framerate friendly scenery of the airports and areas we visited including Nice, Cannes, Marseille, Barcelona etc.I first discovered Sim-Wings Barcelona Airport scenery last year and was very impressed with the accu…

If you want to have dual displays, which is a better option:1. A good video card with dual output or2. Two video cards (AGP and PCI)I would think the two cards option is better in terms of frame rate. What is your experience?CheersM TanYSCBP4 [email protected]/1G memory/Radeon9600XT

Ok I'm trying to select a destination from my active flight plan in the GPS and according to the instructions I need to:1. Press the Direct-to button2. Use the large knob to select the flightplan field3. Use the small know to display all the waypoints in the active flightplan4. Press ENT to confirm my selction and perss ENT again to activate the direct-to functionWell I tried the above but it's not working for me. After I chose my direct-to waypoint I press ENT and it just defaults back to my depature airport. I don't understand what I'm doing wrong here.

Hello,Well, I finally got it 3 days ago. TrackIR3Pro + Vector Expansion. And my opinion is, first of all, an AWESOME PRODUCT!!! If you have fast enough PC, it puts you totally in "medias res" or as the translation would roughly go "into the middle of thing". Really gives you whole another persepctive of flying. I showed my girlfriend how to use (basically, how to fly :-) ) it yesterday, and her comment was: "Whoa, this is SO real". :-)Anyway, after all helpful posts which actually convinced me to get it, especially comments from a guy called P

Just wondering if anyone knows if this plane actually flies this way in real life.I have put it back into my hangar until I can determine if there is a problem with the flight model, or I just need to review the procedures. It is really hard to slow down in descents, and seems very sensitive on the controls (I can adjust sensitivities, can someone let me know if they had to do the same thing?)If this is close to the real thing, it is more than likely struggling sales wise in the real world. This is no slant on FSD International's effort, if infact it is close to reality.Just would like other opinions. Thanks!Barry

Good morning All!I'm ready to make my 1st payware purchase & need some advice. I've narrowed my selection down to the Aeroworks B200 or the PMDG B1900.I've never purchased anything from either of these places & wanted to get some feedback as to how your purchase experiences were with either of these two places. I don't have a paypal account setup & haven't yet discovered if I can use a direct credit card payment with either Aeroworks or PMDG. Also, I'm still on dial up and large d/l takes quite awhile. Is there anything I should know about? Like if I needed to reinstall an aircraft do I need to d/l it again? Is regestration & reinstallation an issue with e…

Can anyone tell me what's wrong here? There is a large water fall at the end of the runway and the roads/bridges are in a weird shape. Have FSGenisis 76.4 terrain installed. Have tried removing FSG but no difference. Have no other addon installed that I know of that could cause this.I am a new forum user and tried to attach a jpeg to show my problem but am notified that the jpeg is too big.

FS2002's copy protection was unique vs. FS2000 and FS2004 in that it required one to go through install from CD. The .exe, if installed from a licensed copy, is decrypted and becomes useable. Unlike FS2000 or FS2004, the only time you need the original CD's is during the install--but without them or with a damaged set, you won't be able to run FS2002.If your .exe isn't working, you may wish to contact Microsoft. Anyone sending you the FS2002.exe is not only defeating the copy protection of this version, they are also breaking the law.-John

Late in November, the web interface http://forums.simradar.com/cgi-bin/gforum.cgi?forum=12 for Simradar's newsgroups stopped updating. For a couple weeks, I thought everyone just got busy and stopped posting! Then I checked it with a newsreader, and realized that the conversation had been going on the whole time... I emailed Jose about it, and he just got back to me last night. Problem is fixed! I'm glad of this for several reasons: - Because I found this newsgroup on the web (and expect that others will do the same in the future). - Because I don't really like having to click on every little message to follow a thread. - Because the newsgroup version doesn't have little …

Hi All,Well I have a problem with FS-9 (No update) that I have never had. I moved my computer from one desk to another and now FS-9 will load to the cockpit but will hang there. Of if it does not hang the frame rates are now in the 01-06 range. I had been getting 15 to 20 range before the move.I have not change any setting on the computer or FS-9. I can bring up task manager and I see that the CPU (Intel 2.4) in being hammered at 100% all of the time that FS-9 is running. I am at a lost to see what has happened to FS-9. All other programs seem to work as they did before the move.Anyone have an Idea???EddieSystem Type2.4 Intel Chip1 Gig Main Board MemoryRadeon 9800 pro 128…

I've been following the threads about the features and future of FS with something of a smile.I "flew" Hawker's simulator for the P1127 (Harrier prototype) in the late 1950s/early 1960s. This sat at the back of the Project Office and had a cockpit built by the carpenters, with a stick, rudder pedals, and throttle box from a scrapped Hunter. It was driven by an analogue computer and the display was a circular 6-inch twin-beam CRT. One beam formed a line from side-to-side of the display to represent the horizon. The other beam was a short vertical line to represent a "tree on the horizon". The test pilots and Project Office staff flew this as the flying control system was d…

After downloading the Flight Ontario's massive freeware scenery for the Greater Toronto Area (my old hometown) I was very impressed. Are there any other similarly extensive scenery packages (labours of love) for other cities around the globe? I'm not talking about just an excellent airport, or a few well-modeled buildings, but a complete combination of ground textures and 3D objects that approaches the detail and fidelity of the Flight Ontario effort.

I just slewed over to Greenland at 67N, heading West at FL350 in a POSKY B742 and saw the Northern Lights for the first time in Fs9. They were wonderful. I'd not seen them since leaving FS2002 last year.Is there a minimum latitude one must be at in order to see this stuff during winter in the northern hemisphere? I was speculating whether MS modelled this above 65deg N since that's where the Arctic Circle starts, isn't it?JS
