Every now and again we read posts of wish lists and how MS should go forward with our beloved flight simulator. But what would you do if MS decided not to take the product any further?Some suggestions might be ....Complain loudly to anyone who wants to listen.Move to X-Plane or another simulator.Accept that FS2004 is a really good product anyway.Support developers in making even better addons.Write your own flight simulator.Give up FS and go back to the wife, girl friend or whoever.As for me, I am entirely satisfied with FS2004 and the two or three addons which I have installed, so if MS were to close shop in this department it wouldn't bother me at all. HiI would like to know if there is any other program as good as FRAPS for recording your flights. I liked FRAPS but I am unable to buy it because PayPal is not available for my country (Cyprus).Stelios

I thought I saw a topic about this somewhere. IS there one that is relatively easy to install? Remember it must be for 2002 only.Just out of curiosity, when DF's 737 - or was it aersofts Eurowings package - was installed, a FMC was placed on my desktop so the user could learn it a little better rather then in flight.Is their a way that I could use that instead and somehow dock it to the a/c of my choice? I know the numbers are for the 737, but I mainly want it for navagation anyway.

After uninstalling IVAO's IVAC FS9 no longer auto loads Real World weather at start-up. The IVAC program handled weather downloads itself so i assume it disabled the FS9 defualt auto-load process. Unfortunatly it appears the uninstall didnt re-enable them back so it appears Im forced to manually relaod them. Is there somewhere I can go in the FS9 file folders to re-enable them myself?

Little bit off topic, I apologize. But, I am getting ready to take a trip and was wondering if anyone has used the Laptop travel adapters that plug into some type of receptacle in the seats (special or headphone jack) on airliners.As you know battery life is not good on laptops while watching a movie etc.How do they work? Does the aircraft have to be specially equipped?Or do they just plug into the standard headphone jacks?Again, sorry this is off topic, but many may benefit from the information.Thanks!Barry

This weekend I flew a short flight from Port Angeles to Roberts Field in Redmond Oregon in the FSD Piper Seneca V (KCLM-KRDM). I wanted to practice a Dme Arc approach into Redmond. The weather was mostly clear and calm for this nighttime flight. There was a snow shower at takeoff around Port Angeles, but takeoff and cruise was uneventful. On descent, I discovered that this routine flight was about to get interesting. I hadn't noticed during cruise, but both my airspeed indicator and vertical speed indicator both had failed sometime during the flight. All I had to go on was my artificial horizon and the altimeter. Hmm - after reading the postings in the Sim-Outhouse forums and the Flightsim.com forums regarding the upcoming RTW race, am I imagining it or do I notice a bit of a lack of interest in this race by Avsimmers in the Avsim forums?There seems to me to have been few postings in the relevant forum over the last few days -- it would be a shame if Avsim lost the "Trophy"Barry

HiCan anyone help with a problem I have with these two panels. The problem is if I load an aircraft using either of these two panelswith the engine off then the PFD and ND gauges do not display corectly even when the power is turned on and the engines started, see pics. If it is loaded with the engines running then all is OK. It is only these two panels that have this problem all other freeware and payware panels are OK. I was just curious if anyone knows of upcoming releases of payware or freeware planes or scenery?I know of 2 upcoming releases1. LGAV greece scenery (freeware)http://www.avsim.com/greece/scenery/index_main.htm the web site says Dec 2004 for a release date, but that obviously has pasted.2. I like to fly classic aircraft... 707's,GE 990s and that sort... And I can find some great panels such as yesterdays hp_cv990panel... But more often than not the DMEs don't work... Can anyone give me a reason and maybe a fix for this problem... I would sure be thankfull...Ron Mashburn

Hi,I was modifying an existing airport (VIAX) which to begin with was just a runway. I followed instructions on AFCAD and added taxiways and other stuff which went fine. When I opened the airport in FS, the taxiways and parkings had trees and and shrubs on them. No problem, AFCAD had instructions to a link hosted by microsoft as how to "exclude" the dynamic scenery but it categorized that for objects, navaids. I used object exclusion switch in scenery.cfg and all the objects from that latitued and longitude disappeared. What switch should I use to make just the trees and shrubbery disappear?I could not find any instructions on AFCAD help or microsoft for that matter.Pleas…

Hi Fellas I ran across some interesting problems while scheduling some AI Aardvark aircraft in FS9. 1. None of the KLM 747-400'S[Old,New,Combi,etc]want to show up on the assigned flight plan. I can replace them with other 747-400's such as Northwest or Qantas and they show up and follow the flight plan perfectly. I can also place a KLM 767-300 on the same flight plan and it shows up and flys the flight plan as well. Very strange! 2. Some of the AI Aardvark Aircraft such as Qantas 767-300 refuse to be assigned to a specific gate. Once again I've replaced it with other 767-300's and they will faithfully go to the assigned gate.The gate codes and gate sizes are correct …

Hi,I am trying to learn flying 777 in Fs9 and a friend of mine suggested the following when asked for a tutorial: "What I would recommend is making yourself a flight plan within FS and use the advanture function for that flight. This is possible from FS 2002 on (I do not know if FS 9 is equal to FS 2002). The adventure will tell you all actions to do as climb, descent, speed and heading. The adventure will lead you on your way."I could not find this option to "create adventure" in FS9. Can someone tell how this can be done?thankssrini

Since I had several support request from persons that tried to install the new Carrier Operation Package (file rcbco-20.zip) into John Schumacher's F14B panel (file se.f14bv2.zip) for Dino Cataneo's F14B aircraft (file f14bfs9a.zip), here's how to do it.Unfortunately John re-packaged several of my COP V1.1 gauges (included in his panel), so the update to V2.0 is not trivial. If you donot use John's panel and FDE yet: install this first, according to his instructions (IMO it's a very good enhancement to Dino's F14B).1. Hi,I've in the last few days successfully installed MRAI and PAI flight plans and populated my skies with some good airline packages. HAving said that, is ther a way I can remove the default FS 9 commmercial airline traffic? I don't to see or hear SOAR, WORLD TRAVEL and LANDMARK anymore....Haha! but I'd like to keep the regional and GA traffic...possible?Cheers,-Pranav

I would like to add FX to my AI traffic, but so far I have only found AI planes done by different repainters, so the colours are not consistent (looks kinda funny to have a row of blue-ish MD11 standing next to pink-ish A310s...)Can anyone give me a hint where to find FX planes for AI that have consistent colours

HiI have inadvertently deleted my stock Boeing 737 AI aircraft whilst doing a manual uninstall of MyTraffic. :(Is there a simple way I can re-install this from my CDs without having to do a complete re-install of FS9?If not, can anyone recommend an alternative AI Boeing 737 for use in the US from ProjectAI or somewhere else?Many thanks in anticipation.Malcolm
