Hi, I very new to flight simulator 2002. I still in tutorial phase and had a hard time graping what the instructor said. I heard that if i press a key. The text will be shown on the screen. What key is it? thanks.

LOL !! I think everybody knows how if your going to fast(seems to be the problem)ATC will zig zag vector you to your airport of choice. Here's one never came across till tonight while checking out Bill Melichar's new Licenciado Benito Juarez International Airport(MMMX) scenery. -Quite good if I may add. Anyway, was also checking out the new Mexico AI 2005 package in the library, as well as some AFCAD work I did for Bill's Scenery. I did a short hop down to Acapulco and back. On the flight back ist were I think ATC hit the bottle. Had a cruise FL210. ATC directs me to decend to FL18, then approaching FL18 I get the direction to decend to 16,000, no problem level out…

Hi,As you can see in the pic, I'm having trouble with my terrain. I run a P2.6 1GB, FX5900 and last week I upgraded from a 80GB to a 200GB hard disk. I partitioned it, and run FR from a separate partition. After a full, clean install of FS, and all other scenery (including FSGenesis mesh) etc, I get this problem : my terrain never get's crispy, it is always blurred. I went through a bunch of posts to gather all of the changes people have suggested to getter better performance (i.e. Frames Per Second) from FS9. I decided to use 3DMark03 as my benchmarking tool. I list the score from 3DMark with each modification, with the average FPS from the four tests as well. I used the Balanced ATI settings for this test. I am not sure of the exact translation between this data and FPS in FS9. I just know that I do see a small FPS increase in FS9, and things seem somewhat smoother. I list the ATI 4.7 drivers because these came with SP2. I was disappointed though that many of the tweaks that have been suggested had no effect on my system. I did not…

I recall a post a while back where a line could be edited in the configuration file to disable panning in V/C mode but I can't find the file. I've looked in the Flight Simulator folder in My Documents as well as through several folders in the FS9 directory with no success. I have "show hidden files" enabled in Windows Explorer. What am I missing?

Dear all, first of all a happy new year to all simmersI need help with regards to the Rome scenery 2004. For some strange thing, I cannot get the scenery to operate in day light hours. When I set the time of FS9 for day, the simulator gives me an error and crashed. When I set the time for night flying, the scenery works with no problem at all. However if I set the time for dawn say, as soon as the simulator goes into day, FS9 gives the error again and crashes.I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling but to no effect. My system consists of a C drive which contains my operating system (XP) and other applications (Office, etc). I also have a separate hard drive (D:) which contains only FS9 and associated add-ons. The bad news is a software glitch on my C drive forced me to reformat and reinstall XP. I am looking for assistance as to what to do concerning my D drive and FS9 which were not affected by the software problem. Will I have to reinstall and if so what happens to all of my add-ons? I am fairly computer savvy, but I have never been faced with this particular situation and want to take the proper yet quickest action to get back up and running. Thanks in advance for your assis…

I made note of a post re: using selective Startup in MSCONFIG wherein you would clear the boxes for Process System.ini and Win.ini and Load Start up and then under the Services Tab click Hide all MS Services and Disable All...then OK...then Restart.To reverse the process after simming the drill is to go to the General tab, click Normal Startup and then restart.If convenience (or inconvenience) IS NOT an issue, would the above work as well (better/worse) than using such utilities as Enditall or FSstartup???thanks,Jim

Hello,I have been running without FSAUTOSTART for two years. It looked like a great idea so I installed the latest version and set up the Services/Programs per the instructions. All went fine at startup and even at shutdown. The system seemed much faster without the added overhead (Dell 8200 with 512 RAM and a big HD)HOWEVER - while running FS2004 /Activesky - I got my FIRST VIRTUAL MEMORY SHORTAGE Alert in two years. The system keep running but I got a little concerned. I guess I should spring for another 512????Any ideas here about whether FSautostart had that affect??Thanks in advance,Ron SagelNear KCHS

New poster here, looking to step up from years of casual simming to a slightly more thoughtful approach (as typified by members of this forum - thanks for all the information I've gleaned from browsing it).I'm about to buy FSNavigator, but I'd appreciate views on a couple of points:1) Is there any other source from which I can download the file of SIDS/STARS for FSNavigator? I'm aware of the support rumours, and the difficulty that the author has had in providing support for some months, but www.fsnavigator.com has been down all week so I'm worried this may be more than just a Christmas outage. And can I download a file without using the FSNavigator update option to do it…

HiHaving just spent christmas in norway, it struck me as we were flying back to stansted just how much i now hate flying when i'm NOT in control - looking out of a cabin window just isn't the same as looking out of the cockpit !!!Another observation was that as we were on finals into a busy stansted, why was i waiting for a drop in frame rate as the airport scenery and ai started to kick in !!! Hi everyone!I have a question.Is it possible to use FS2004 with a real World Atlas, f.ex. Encarta World Atlas or something like that.I have the VFR photoseries for UK and I think it could be nice to see exactly where you fly, the names of the cities and villages.The moving map in the deafault GPS you can only see the airports.I know that it might be unrealistic, but anyway, I think it could be useful for someone.ReagardsMats, Sweden
