Cloud layers in METAR reports are AGL or MSL?So if AGL, to fidure out cloud hieghts you would have to add aiprot elevation to report?Thanks.

I've been trying to add some military helicopters as AI. They do not show up after I put them in my flightplans and run TTools. My afcad has plenty of spaces for them. Anyone have an idea as to why that is? Thank you.

Does anybody know if there is a freeware A-10 Warthog that works with FS2004? I found one "fs2002-a-10_warthog.zip", but it doesn't show the landing gear in fs2004. Thank you.

I just have seen at Shipol Amsterdam there is one building just in front of a jetway. And also the Airport sign is hanging in the air.In the screenshot you will see what I meen. I deleted add-ons and even mesh from Amsterdam so maybe this is the default airport. I have tried to remove the object with exclude builder but no way it is still there. Someone have seen this also.

When we used FS98, 2000 and even 2002, I used to fly a lot in Alaska as a virtual bush pilot. There were many very talented scenery designers doing great work. We had a lot of add-ons on a smaller airports and a lot of cabins around Alaska (even before FS-water was landable). They really challenged the skills of virtual busk pilots.Is this all gone? Where are small strips and cabins for FS9? Where are all those designers who did that great job? Hi folks and seasons greetings, I have just got myself a flight wizz wheel one of those flying computers that work out wind calulations for you on e/bay and have been practicing with it doing cross country VFR flights setting the wind in the advanced weather in F/Sim, if I set the wind to 358/15knts up to 1500ft then start flying, then to see what the wind is doing I press shift Z to get the get the wind info to show on the top of the screen when flying, but the problem is it never shows the winds I have set the sim to, with the above winds it shows 354/08, thinking this may be due to the wind being lighter on the ground I tried flying at 1500ft but its just the same, but…

Hi,Is it possible to turn the 'head bob' off in the virtual cockpit? I mean this nasty feature of immitating pilot's head movements according to aircraft movements.. it makes clicking on spots difficult in tough situations...

I am really helping someone can help me with this.I have recently purchaed the throttle quadrant from CH and am having difficulty getting it setup with different maps.I have Control Manager installed and know I'm missing a step but don't know what it is.What I want to do is to have different maps for different aircraft. From what I understand this is totally possible but I'm lost.One particular thing I'm lost on is how to assign each engine to a lever. After creating a map and clicking "download" I can go into FS2004 and click on the correct device. That part is okay. I've been right through the keyboard assignments list and can't find any way to assign a key to control the stopwatch in the Cessna. It would be much easier to hit a key rather than grope around with the mouse to start the stopwatch when trying to do an instrument procedure while at the same time controlling throttle, trim, pitch and bank.Anyone found a way or have I missed something (other than the approach - again :) )?--Bryn

I am not able for some reason to access fsd's site from home, so apologies for this, but does someone have the solution to the engine start-up bug? I was in my office today reading fsd's forum, and quite a lot of folks seem to have problems getting the engines to start, even after following the checklists to the letter. I'm having the same problems:1)Turning the battery switch on produces a "0" volt reading (even after enabling max battery life in fsuipc.2) Engines spool up and stabilize for a couple of seconds, then shut down. Could someone post the fix here, as, as I've said above, I can't access fsd's webpages. Ricardo

Hi all,I've lost all AI traffic even though the sliders are set to maximum (100%). I'd been having problems with FS9 not loading, so I had deleted my fs9.cfg file and restarted the sim. Dont know if that is linked. This has never happened before, I'll really appreciate your help. I dont use any AI traffic add-ons at all.A few days ago I had also downloaded the sample version of Air Nav's FSlive (http://www.airnavsystems.com/ANFS/index.htm) and had later unistalled it and everything seemed to work fine after that. Hello everyone :)If Im doing something wrong flying the Project Fokker 70/100 then I cant figure out what it is thats causing this to happen: the *entire* tailplane tilts forward.When I load the plane the tailplane works normally with just the elevators moving up and down (as they should). I have a P4 2.8GhzHT 1024Mb RAM and a Radeon 9800Pro 128Mb. I have also installed the latest FS patch from the MS site.I discovered that my CPU is only running FS9.exe at about 50-55%. I thought that was normal but according to other users I have spoken to it should run at about 100%. I checked the Affinity option and both CPU 0+1 are checked. Does anybody has any idea how I could get my FS9.exe to run at 100% speed? Could it be that I am experiencing lower FPS due to this 'problem'?!

At first, sorry for my bad english. I have a big problem with FS9. I have new computer, new clean installation of Windows XP and clean installation of FS9 and FS9 doesn't work :-((It stops at the splash screen and tells me, that program made some failure and has to be closed. Speed issue: Slowing down.. Can R/W pilots give us a ruling on the flight characteristics? The FSD procedure manual indicates:This is described in the procedures, but basically you want to retard your Prop/Condition levers. This effects both fuel and prop efficiency and will permit you to slow down much more effectively.Is this SOP in real life? Is there a link to the actual R/W manual somewhere?
