I am considering buying the new ch throttle quadrant. I searched through a bunch of posts and got most of my questions answered. However I have one more question for someone who already owns it:How do you use the throttle for single engine planes? Most of my flying is split between two engine props and single engine GA. The one thing that has kept me from buying is having to remap the throttles each time I change planes. However, I was thinking I could set it up for a standard twin prop, but then how would that work for a single engine plane? Could I just not use one of the levers for each (maybe taking off the tops)? Does the other lever get in the way? Could I s…

Somebody knows how to operate the FMS or where to find a tutorial?I have managed to make this panel work fine in the Dreamwings Dash8 and also changed a lot of this AC FDEs so it flyes really smoothly now. I only need to make sure the FMS is fully functional with the changes I made and I will post in the DW forums the FDEs and how to make the panel work. Thanks,Leo

I like to use Mike Stones models for AI because they are lightweight in the polycount usually. Was thinking of using his P-3 Orion this way. Anybody got any AI flight plans that might be useful this way?Eric

I've been to their site, and there is no e-mail to contact them. Seems I bought U.S. Landclass long ago, and for some reason I can't seem to locate the download file. I've looked everywhere and searched my hard drive. I have my order number, but I can't seem to find a way to contact them so that I may re-download it. Help if you know how I can get to them.

The ReaAir Spitfire achieved something new for MSFS and that is smooth guages and smooth frames in demanding scenery.Little seems to be made of this fact which "could" have far reaching implications for more complex and demanding aircraft? or maybe not?The RealAir Spitfire has achieved IL2 in MSFS and it would be fantastic if equally smooth VC operation could be carried through into complex glass cockpit aircraft with not only the frames but clarity of the RealAir offering.Does anyone know how this has been achieved and whether the same effect would work on multiple guages and more important on glass cockpit displays?Peterhttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/101140.jpg

The Airbus commercial jets appear to use Joy Sticks rather than Yokes. This clears alot of room up in front of the Pilot and co-Pilot. I was wondering if Boeing was going to be heading in this direction. I guess the "fly by wire tech" has opened many doors. Thanks,

I've heard the same thing in different ways lately about FS2k4. I just read a thread about Boeing versus Airbus where a user named WAD3 (Andrew) stated his PSS A340 which ran good at first now brings FS2k4 to it's knees. I'm having the same problem but with the sim in general... I used to think it was certain add-ons or AS2004.5 but that doesn't seem to be the case. FS2k4 ran well for many months but now is having the hardest time loading textures and is running slower in general. I don't know if this progressive decline in performance is due to my install of SP2 for WindowsXP but things sure are getting slower on my system. I have Viruscan running on my system as we…

for users of trackIR, it seems that the process has a bad memory leak. After leaving the driver running and on for a day the process size was up to 70mb. When I killed and restarted it, it was 10mb.sigh. haven't programmers of these things heard of "purify"?

I just read a post in a combat flight sim forum that hit home and even mentioned Microsoft in one of the replies...http://www.igda.org/Forums/showthread.php?...15&pagenumber=1Will the "greed" of the corporate world sink in further and affect every add on aircraft for FS? I SURE HOPE NOT!I know there have been issues in the past with FS and the use of certain AIRLINE logos, etc - but aircraft too? OMG!What are YOUR thoughts?

I always see such a large difference in performance when turning AI traffic off or down in intensity. I have UT (FS9). Has anyone experimented with replacing the models that come with UT with some that are not that hard on computer performance, but maybe still look somewhat OK? I think the only time yiu actually see the AI traffic is at airports, otherwise it's a dot in the sky or a contrail.I'd be interested if anyone had been able to make UT a little more frame-rate friendly, while retaining the AI traffic volume. Thanks, Bruce.

I just landed at Vancouver, BC in a SGA/FFX Boeing 737-400 with a Boeing 737-400 panel by Luis Pereira, using FSNavigator. It was one of the most satisfying sim flights for me in ages and made me realize how much superb stuff is out there that may be dated but that still rocks.I've acquired a truly massive aircraft fleet over time and have the commercial add-ons that many simmers have. My principal challenge with all such add-ons is the time and complexity involved in mastering them and the performance hit on my very decent mid-end DELL P4.Well, today's flight was flawless and I had perfect PC performance from start to finish. I'd previously tweaked the FFX cfg file sl…
