I'm been seeing more and more of this problem where on an IFR flight, ATC vectors me to runway X, but upon contacting tower, I'm told to circle and land on runay Y. Don't work very good in a heavy...Any ideas?

HelloI have fs9 and am reinstalling it. Whenever I reinstall it, at 89% it says 'MS2004 encountered a disc error while writing to the file C;program filesmicrosoft gamesflight simulator 9scenery.cab. Make sure the disc is not full and the file is not in use.The disc is not and the file is not in use. I have deletd world.cab and then tried to reinstall, but it still says the same message! I have restarted my computer numerous times, but still get this errorWhat do you suggest?Thanks

I only have the default FS9 scenery, no 3rd party addons. When I look in the Settings - Scenery library section, all the scenery boxes are ticked. As I never fly in certain areas of the world would it make any diference to FS9's performance if I unticked these unused areas.Glen Coyne

Hey everyone,I bought the DF727 and I load the tutorial flight but it crashes every time at 51%. I know it's "loading terrain" at that point and the only thing I can pinpoint is that it happens because the tutorial flight is in the winter (it didn't work when I did creat a flight in the winter too). The error also reads the problem as "unknown" so I think it's a problem taht isn't .dll or .exe related. Does anyone know of a program to see what files are loading while FS loads?? I'd really like to know what file causes the error. I also did uninstall any addon afcads/scenery/mesh that were remotely close, but like I said, it works in the fall season, just not in the w…

I have twice seen parked AI aircraft tip nose down, tail up and disappear completely into the ground like a duck diving into a pond.I've seen it happen twice now, once at Seattle and once at Schipol. I have downloaded the Project Afcad files from PAI, so there is potentially a link between the airports, but I'm guessing it's an aircraft causing the problem, not an airport.This happens very quickly on arriving at the airport from the "Create Flight" menu or when altering the AI percentage so that the AI scenery is refreshed. I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw what Mark Beaumont and Dave Bitzer have created. I am constantly amazed at the creativity of designers, but their sextant is the cat's meow.My father was a navigator in the RCAF and I've always been fascinated by astral navigation. I can't believe that it's now possible to simulate it in flightsim.(Not that I've even tried to use the thing yet -- I've got lots of reading to do before I dare take my Dakota or Connie across the ocean without the GPS to fall back on!)So hats off to you guys. I can see the 2D cockpit..but when I use the hat switch to see behind me, I only see the 3D version.I know Dreamfleet Piper Archer and the FSD Senaca V all have photographic 2D images for the seats and side views.I suspect I had this problem crop since I installed Active Camera...but not sure.Anyone had this problem before? any solutions?thanks.Manny

Tonight I did a flight from Phoenix to Santa Ana, everything was fine unil about 20 miles from the airport when ATC canceled my IFR for no reason. (I didn't miss any hand off's or anything) This was not a big problem becuase I made my way to the airport and landed. (This happens alot when I fly to Santa Ana)After I landed I decide to fly back to Phoenix. And about 3 minutes after take off FS2004 crashed to the desktop. After the crash I decided to fly from Long Beach to Phoenix and made it to Phoenix without any problems.Is anyone else having similar problems when flying to or from Shez Ansari's Santa Ana scenery?

Tossing up what one of these 2 to purchase. Any one own both? What are your comments? I am opting more for the CRJ as delta(comair) uses these.Also 1 of my questions is regarding the FMC on the CRJ. Can you completely build the flight plan with it? IIRC in the very first versions the plan was loaded via the FS flight planner and not modifiable. Has this changed ? and/or can you plan manualy using waypoints and VIAs?How are the flying qualities?BTW I trolled through the FeelThere forums and read the comments there, just dont feel prudent to post a question like this in that forum. Hello AVG! Multiple postings on this forum complained about the intrusiveness of Norton Anti-virus programs. I have been using Norton for years up to and including 2004 version. Today, I dumped it, using RegSeek to clean the registry afterwards..........result, an 80% reduction in those obnoxious 1-3 second pauses every 1-2 minutes of flight. I installed the free AVG from grisoft.com and it is perfectly compatible with my system. Sorry Symantec........you've lost my business.....NOTHING stands in the way of a nutcase FS9 simmer like me!!!! ......by the way, frame rates are unchanged, but performance is roughly doubled for me!!!Randy Jura, KPDX

I use FS2002 and this only appears to happen in the UK. I've experimented elsewhere and it hasn't happened yet.When I create a flight and start at the active runway, the heading indicator is aligned correctly with the runway. If I then take off, and either change aircraft after a few minutes, or switch to a different airfield, the heading indicator and compass jump about 118 degrees to the right eg if it should be pointing North it jumps to 118. Mainly it's possible to reset the heading indicator, but not the compass. If I then select a different airfield it jumps back to the incorrect heading. Hey all, like Dillon in his post, I have noticed slowdowns over time with FS as well...but its not bad, lots of people would love to get the performance I get, I'm not griping, just curious. :-lol It got me to looking around, and well, I loaded msconfig to see what was loading on startup and I find what you see below...the boxes for characters part, which to me would be a language that cannot be displayed right? I wan't to know exactly what this is, so I looked where it was kept in the registry as you will see that below, but I cannot figure out what it is, so maybe there is someone here that could help me. I've been using TrackIR for about a year, but I honestly didn't use it that much because it really required concentration, and I found it was easier to use Active Camera. You had to keep your head pretty still, or the view would go wacky.The vector expansion has COMPLETELY changed my perception! This is the way is should've worked from day 1. I feel this is the closet you can get to a head mounted display for under $2000. It's amazing! I like the fact that you don't have to keep your head still. On takeoff for instance, when the nose of the plane is high, you can't see over it. Well with this, you just "sit up" and voila! You can peer over the nose like on a real Ce…
