"Armando Di Francesco annouced the release of Flight Simulator A.I. traffic separation. With this tool you will be able to separate the traffic inbound to an airport defining a set of parameters, like minimum separation, desired separation, reduced separation zone, etc. This way you can reduce the annoying go-arounds that the AI engine of FS2004 can cause. It will be avaiable at Flightsimmer's, ProjectAI, and other major FS libraries."Anyone know about and/or going to try this when it's released???

Looking for info on finding out more about how gauges work....or finding out what a switch is supposed to do when it is toggled. I have d/l one of the many P Golding DC9/MD80 panels. When the nav light switch is toggled, it turns on the panel lights, but not the nav lights. Played around and imported another nav light switch from another a/c, and it works correctly. But wanting to learn more about gauges & gauge programming. Also, on the updated SGA DC9's ( 30,40,50 series), is there a reason why I can't see the landing lights from the 2d cockpit. They illuminate on the wings & the nose gear, but don't cast any light on the runway, in any view.Thanks@Rick

All you experts may have figured out how to work with ATC but when I bought FS2004 a few months ago and I needed ATC to vector me to an ILS I was very disappointed with ATC vectoring me far away from the airport, telling me to ascent to a higher FL when I was descending to land, or just plain forgetting about me. The choice of runways to land on is limited and communication with ATC is slow and tedious. So now I just use the direct key on the GPS 500 to select an airport and then use the PROC key to select an ILS approach. The GPS map shows a purple straight line pointed straight to the ILS. Using the NAV/heading I manually fly the heavy about 7nm from the beginning purp…

I'm a bit concered over why Microsoft hasn't announced or commented whether a new edition of Flight Simulator will be released (usually every 2 years), whilst other flight sims are getting updated/upgraded often (eg. IL-2)? Even we haven't seen any official information from Microsoft regarding a new release-MS's Games site hasn't mentioned a FS2006-I seem to think that the next edition could be announced early next year (after all, I don't believe that a new FS will be shown at E3 ounless of course MS has confirmed it).

Prior to the upcoming release of FSInn, a stress test would like to be held. We would like to invite all available pilots to join us on the FSFDT Test server for a test to help evaluate FSInn with an extreme amount of traffic. There will be two separate tests on Wednesday March 23, 2005:The first test will be held for European Timezones at 2130Z at LFPGThe second will be held for North/South American Timezones at 0100Z at KDFW.This will be your chance to test fly the great software that will soon be approved for VATSIM use. The following links will take you to the FSInn Pilot Client, Flash Tutorial, and FSInn Manual. FSInn Release Candidate 2 http://www.mcdu.com/redirect.p…

Just a quick question...does anyone here know if military flights; tankers, AWACS, etc, are restricted to the 'standard' 250knts below 10,000ft ? I would assume that fighters are not, but I'm never sure what airspeed to maintain if shuttling KC-135's or E3's around!Cheers!

I still have an old copy of EGCC from UK 2000, which I bought in 2003 for FS 2002. Is that compatible with FS 2004 (except AFCAD, I know)? Or is there an updated version or a patch from UK 2000 that I need to install? Thanks

Just a heads up to those who've asked before and not gotten an answer.Poking around in language.dll, I found this in Resource 3933:"SCENERY.CFG has too many sections in it. The maximum number of sections is about 1000. Click ABORT to Exit Flight Simulator."I haven't put even close to that many in myself, so I can't say from experience...Kevin

I have been running fs2004 on new Sony laptop with no problems; plenty of processor and RAM; but only 9700 pro card (64 meg) which is the best I could get. Now I am experiencing severe terrain texture degredation within minutes of beginning flight...10 or 15 min into the flight the terrain textures are so blurry there is essentially no definition remaining. Have made several changes to cfg settings based on postings here with no change. Any ideas on what is going on appreciated.

Hi all,Judging by the relatively low number of downloads, I guess most of you were wondering: what are ships doing in a Flightsimulator ??Which was my initial reaction when I saw these downloads appear in the library. But after trying out a few of them, I changed my opinion: they are just fun to "fly" (especially in a scenery with islands or rivers/lakes), and it gives you another perspective of "whats possible" in FS2004.Obviously, FS2004 wasn't setup as a "Ship Simulator", so it does have some limitations (like water depth is infinite, and no fish :-))But if you like to explore some other "flying" options with FS2004, try out Ian Thatcher / Phil Crowthers new submarine:…
