Hi there, I was wondering if someone could recommend a freeware 737. I had downloaded the ffx 737 sometime ago, the only thing i didnt like was the beacon on the bottom how it lit up everything within a big radius. I have see some screenshots with some awesome continental 73's, but they didn say which they were. Thanks in advance for your help.Rod

Hey,Well I finnally thought I'd dive and actually use Lonny Payne's excellent (free) 767 panel, I completed a cold and dark power up and stuff, and ready to program the FMC, But it has no numbers etc..!!!! Only the mode select (Cruise, Decent, Int Ref etc.)How can I set the value's in the FMC? Do I have to press a button or something and use the keyboard? Or is the FMC just there for 'show' :( (All the modes work etc..)His manual is only about half a page long and doesn't mention the FMC at all :(.Thanks!

I just reinstalled FS2004 on a new PC and cannot remember how to get rid of the resident menu bar at the top of the screen. I am in windowed mode (always) and I know it comes back when you hit ALT. But how do I get it to disappear in the first place?Appreciate advice, thanks!JS

I have finally installed the SP2 for Win XP Pro. FS2004 works just like before, very well. I was just wondering however, have people had problems with fs2004 a few days to a week later from the installian or if problems were to occur would they have immediatly showed up while loading fs? Any info would be very much appreciated. Please explain if there has been issues. Thank You,Kurt.

Hello all :)Is there anyway of fixing a flap-sound looping effect?Let me explain:When I select 1 notch of flap the sound goes "whiiiiiiiiiiirrrrr" and then stops - as it should.But when I go from zero flaps to say 25 degrees flap the sound goes "whiiiiiiirrrr -pause - whiiiiiiirrrr -pause - whiiiiiiirrrr -pause - whiiiiiiirrrr -pause - whiiiiiiirrrr - -pause - whiiiiiiirrrr"Any way of making one long continuous flap sound without the pauses?Do I need to "stretch" it using an audio editor or something?In a nutshell: the sound should last for a few seconds when extending one notch of flap and last a lot longer (without loop-pauses) when extending several notches of flap.You…

just got the rework of paul goldings md80 series panel from the library. i also have his md90 panel. as goodlooking as they are i'm having problems with the one that came out the last day or two. neither seems to have a button for the GPS or the map. can't get the autopilot to work either. no go with the nav switch also. there are a couple of other things i will try though to see if i'm doing something wrong. Just wondered if anyone else has been having the same problem. william

Hi All,I've been installing FS 2004 for the first time here over the last couple of days and have had a frustrating time doing so. I keep getting an error message during the disk 1 installtion that reads:"Set-up failed to extract files from D:/MSGAME1.CAB This is most likely caused by low memory(low disk for swapping files) or a corrupted cabinet file. Please restart your machine and run set-up again."Well I've done this 10 times and I still get the same message. I have 1GB of memory and a 256MB graphics card. The only thing I can think of is that I'm running FS2002 still on the same hard drive. Has anyone else had this problem or shed some light?Thanks,BrianKPHX

When you get your A36 purchased, could some of you let us know how the performance is on your rigs as compared with other dreamfleet GA a/c? After being burned on one of my last addon purchases (not Dreamfleet or FSD) I am going to wait to see what everyone else thinks of this one first in terms of performance/impact. I just love "complex" add-on panels, and I was wondering whether there is anything for the 737-300/400/500 that has the sophistication or almost the sophistication of the PMDG or PSS or Level-D or something similar products.If it's a panel that comes with a plane, fine, otherwise I would be happy to just use the FFX models.ThanksChris

My FS2004 is configured so that the "Previous flight" is set as the default flight. Doing this, FS always starts where I left it last time. In addition, SHOW_OPENING_SCREEN is set to 0, so the opening screen does not appear.Since I have a lot of add-on sceneries installed, my FS often stops loading when the progress bar is around 13% (sometimes 11, or 15) and it is blocked. The only solution is then to stop it through the task manager, set SHOW_OPENING_SCREEN to 1, re-start and select a FS default flight. FS then starts, and I select "Previous flight" to come back to the previous situation.It is a pain, and it is unpredictable. Sometimes it happens when I stop FS on an ad…

Hi all, After purchasing the Level-D 767 I feel it is time to get into real procedures. In the past with PMDG 737's I've let FS ATC handle the departures and approaches (the FMC would then take over), but I'm getting curious about using real approaches and departures. My base of operations is EWR and I'd like to know if there are published routes available. Also do commercial products like simplates contain this information? Has anyone had success with installing this freeware DH2 Beaver recently uploaded to the file Library? I get an error message saying that FS9 cannot load Bvr_Switches.gau (or words to that effect) and the VC doesn't work. I can get rid of the error message by commenting out reference to the gauge in the panel.cfg file but haven't been able to fix the VC. Another trap for the unwary is that the recommended install process loads fsuipc v 3.45. (the latest is 3.47).Bruceb

I don't know if this is the place to ask this but there is no forum on servinfo,I have servinfo on my desktop with no problems but I installed it on my laptop and it does not find any servers.I checked my desktop and it works.I have no virus programs running or firewalls up so I can't figure this out any ideas? Sometimes I have the impression that some runways in reality look different than in FS9, especially when it comes to their width.E.g. I recently saw a picture at the DAAD forum (http://www.dangerousairports.com/forum/index.php?t=msg&th=6&start=0&rid=0&S=431a192067e5fae445db579a4ab119e3) where the photo shows a much broader runway than the FS screenshot.That's only an example, I've seen numerous other photos where I couldn't find a match in the FS world.The first airport I have the feeling to more "be there" is FlyTampa's KSFO.Is this only my personal, subjective feeling? Not that I'm unhappy, but many runways look so narrow...Andreas

I just tried a bushpilot flight over the Cascade Pass (a lot of nail-biting fun, but that's another story). In the Cascade area there are a number of wandering black lines on the sectional map with dots on one or both sides of the line. They don't appear in the list of map symbols.I thought first of all they might be symbols for all winter roads, but now I wonder if they are marking national park boundaries. Anyone know?The sectional I am using is the Matt Fox file from the library - thanks Matt :) It is such a large file that my graphics program IrfanView can't open it on my Win98 machines, but the XP laptop copes ok - maybe XP handles memory better for such an applica…

Ok, so here is how to make Chris's excellent textures lighter as to stop the "stuttering" some people are encountering.I cannot guarentee that the quality will be identical, but I think you would be hard pushed to notice any difference, read through the steps first and make sure you are comfortable with them before trying it out yourself.You need a painting program, I use PSP, but you can use any other that has the required "sharpen" filter, you also need DXTBMP, I find this better than imagetool as the DXT conversion shows minimal corruption.1) Download and unzip AEU7.zip from AVSIM2) Find all the textures that are larger than 22kb, should be 25 files in all, using DXTBM…

Hi!An add-on product I recently downloaded required me to edit the fs9.cfg file in the Microsoft Flight Simulator. The problem is that I can`t find this file. I`ve searched the whole machine, through all the harddisks and folders, without any results. I`ve also searched in hidden folders.Does anybody know what might be the issue here?The simulator runs well despite the missing fs9.cfg-file, so I recon that it must be in the machine somewhere.Jan Ove Larssen, Norway
