I have a CH Flight Sim yoke and use the left grip rocker switch to control elevator trim. (Don't like using keyboard for this). The problem I have is that the trim is too sensitive. Sometimes it seems as if it has more control than the yoke itself. Is there any way to change a setting that will allow better control of elevator trim using this switch. I tried to change the sensitivity using FSUIPC but can't really figure how to do it. Any help out there? Thanks.Jim

With some spectacular recent releases and without going into specifics I am starting to wonder whether Micrsoft should really consider going outside to populate the next version of MSFS with aircraft. This would have a number of benefits Firstly they would have generic aircraft which are top notch How many of you still use the generic aircraft? How many of you just have these aircraft taking up drive space?Going to the top third party aircraft developers to create the aircraft for the next MSFS would not only insure the quality but would also release Micrsoft to concentrate more on other aspects of the sim. With the quality level of products now being produced stock aircraf…

Hi all,Well Since reading the latest issue of PC Pilot Magazine, Ive kinda got hooked on fly Helicoptors. Ive always thought that the Helicoptor FDE was messed up, or that there was some kind of secerte to flying them. Ive since learned that infact Helicoptors are very flyable In FS, Im not saying the FDE is perfect but with pratice and the right Controller settings, there is very and I underline very much fun to be had with flying Helos in FS.What ive learnt is that you must have: All realisim Settings Set to fullGyro Drift OffAuto Rudder OffIn the controller settings you must have Sensitivty for all Axis full right and Null Zones again for all Axis Full left, eg No Null…

The Microsoft Flight Simulator site is possibly, for some, a forgotten source of info on flight simulation, links, etc. I found it to be full of good info on FLIGHT which, after all, is why FS2004 exists!http://www.microsoft.com/games/flightsimul...ree_add-ons.aspDick Boley @KLBE

For those of you who (like me) first learned about the 690B when you saw one of the later library repaints and followed the link in the description to the Veneaviones web site, then tried to d/l the base model from there and got an Apache 404:The page you're sent to when clicking one of the 690B links is this: http://www.avsim.com/veneaviones/princ/comander.htm%20This is the case, at least if you're using Firefox, from 690B links on the front page of the site, as well as the Downloads page. This is all contained in Flash, so you won't see it at the page bottom when you hover the mouse over it. But that's the address of the page you get sent to.Merely remove the trailing "…

Hey everyone, I'm sorry if this topic has been done to death, but I'm curious. Does MS usually reveal their latest FS version at E3? I can't really remember what they did for 2002 or 2004, I just remember staring in awe at the screens :D

Dudley HenriquesInternational Fighter Pilots FellowshipCommercial Pilot. CFI RetiredHandling A High Performance JetTutorial By Dudley HenriquesInternational Fighter Pilots FellowshipAs you know, from time to time, I will take a subject that comprises some degree of bulk of my weekly email from sim enthusiasts and write a general tutorial on that subject.Much of the email I get is from sim pilots flying light airplanes asking me for tips on how to fly the high performance military jets.MS, in their infinite wisdom, has created a program for us that anyone can enjoy according to individual tastes. You can fly a J3 Cub and relax and watch the scenery. You can load up a DC10 …

I am departing the U.S. for an un-named middle eastern country tomorrow. I will be arriving from that place to Hamburg, Germany on Wednesday, March 16th. I have meetings on the 17th and the 18th in various places around Hamburg and Bremerhaven, but will be free on Friday evening (the 18th)in Hamburg. If there are any German simmers in Hamburg that would like to get together the evening of the 18th, I would look forward to meeting you. I will be departing the next day to another un-named country and finally returning to the U.S. on the 24th.Sorry for the mysterious bit, but I just wanted to let everyone else know when I was leaving and when I was returning, so that any una…

I have decided to fly the MD80 for a while. I am willing to buy a good one. I expect from some reading that I have done that I will have to match a panel and a model. Can some of you who have flown them, or who have read good reviews about them, recommend a a great model and panel. (I understand they may not be the same developer.)Which MD80 model do you like best?Which MD80 Panel do you like best? (please specify if the Panel has an FMC. I don't have to have it, but would like to know.)Thanks for your time to answer the question.DM

Im having problems with this scenery. I mainly fly with the PMDG 737 series, but when ever im in the VC, the default ground bleeds through the scenery. Also, if I make a flight into EGKK, when ever I can into land, there is literally no tarmac. I can see the runway and terminals, but no taxiways (i can see the center lines though). Is anyone else having this problem or if there is a fix?Cheers

I just wanted to say that Captain Sim's 767 looks pretty amazing so far. The model can't be beaten, and I was particularly amazed at the two new shots of the overhead panel, they look like real photos at least the one in the day lighting does. I own the LDS 767 also and am happy with it, but I will definately buy Captain Sim's 767 as it has more models (200-400) and the model looks better, and for the fact that I have lots of extra money laying around that I don't want to give to charity. Just kidding about the charity part, I give $120.00 to a different charity every year. I'm going to write them an email to find out which aircraft they are going to release first, the…

I haven't been here in quite some time. Been messing with HL2 and the Nascar Sims, as well as FS9, but comp. is showing it's age. With a major upgrade on my horizon, I thought I'd see what was going on with FS. I saw FS9 at several stores recently for $29.00, bargain bin pricing for a MS product. What gives? I thought a new FS wasn't coming for a while, heck, they just hired a bunch of people for it so it can't be any time soon. Or am I wrong? Does anyone have any info on the next FS and when we might expect it?CH

After 3 hours flying the A36:1) impressive external model with awesome details and fantastic aircraft reflections2) the best lighting I've never seen (external and internal)3) total immersion in the flight: you are IN the aircraft4) bright, sharp, beautiful gauges with fantastic buttons and avionic sounds and excellent 2D panels5) superb side views, you feel the smell of the leather6) excellent 3D panel and cabin, with all the eyes candies that make the DF planes so real and fun7) the best sounds so far for a GA airplane, really impressive8) you feel the yoke and pedals and use the trims like in the real stuff, with a great sensitivity and precision. The programmer of th…

I have over 1700 flightplans that are set up for just 5 aircraft. I would like to spread these flightplans over 14 aircraft. Does anybody know of a utility program that will ramdomly take the 14 AC# in the Aircraft.txt file and evenly spread them over the flightplans. AITM-2 does not seem to support this function or I can't figure out how to get it to do what I want. Any help greatly appreciated.

Hi,This may be a silly question, but, I like to use MSFS to practice instrument flying in IMC. However, when it is overcast outside, if I get real weather in MSFS, sometimes I get overcast, sometimes I don't. And when I do, it seems that the overcast cloud cover is only at most 50-100 feet thick, and when you get on top, it looks as if the cloud layer isn't even there.Does ActiveSky simulate overcast conditions better? How thick is the cloud layer? How does it figure out how thick it should be from the metars? Can you see through it from on top (I hope not)? Thanks,Thomas Perry

I just installed WinXP and FS again after replacing some hardware. I've loaded up my FSGenesis scenery, Simflyers, and a few others like UK2000 stuff, and German airports. I've also loaded up some payware aircraft like PMDG, and some Flight1 stuff. I had all of this before, but never had the problems I'm having now.Somewhere along the line of doing all this installing, something has went goofy for localizers and ILSs. I can be airborne, lining up on the localizer, but there is no indication of a localizer on my gauges. By this, I mean no DME, if equipped, no steering bar, no GS, nada!! If anyone has any idea of what went wrong, and how to fix it, I'd greatly appreci…

Hi.I'm just curious as to what are the typical errors that you all get either regular or random, what are they, did you click on the error reporting click spot in FS9 before you closed/re started it, and what did it say, mine for example keeps coming up with a g2d.dll, and yet the techies at Microsoft went through my system and decided that all it needed was a BIOS up grade to fix it, so I did just that, guess what . . . it did nothing, and I still get them randomly, different aircraft, different places, even with default stuff ! ! !.thanks, and lets hear about those crashes guy's.
