Anybody using GPSOUT with FS2004? I am using, it runs ok, except after a while, I get an error about memory going lower and lower.Does the null modem cable connection suck up the memory? Somebody told me that adding 2 extra serial ports connected via a null modem cable is bad for the system. If so any other solution?Would appreciate and feedback.Thanks.Abe

First of all I apologise if I am in the wrong place to seek help with my problem.I want to do a clean instal of FS9 to a different partition to the one on which FS9 is currently installed. I do not want to remove the current installation until I have got the new installation to my satisfaction. (The current installation has become very messy).Installation disk only gives option to remove current installation.Grateful for any advicecolf

Having just bought USA Roads, has anyone tried Nuroads 2.0? Would be very curious about your likes or dislikes.

It seems that many jet aircraft (airliners) I download and install have a tendency to fly with a decided "nose up" attitude. This nose up problem only becomes more pronounced when making a landing.I know this can be changed using the pitch/trim wheel but was wondering if there was anything in the aircraft.cfg or .air file that could be changed (or at least experimented with) that would allow the aircraft to fly more level in it's default mode.Any tips appreciated.

I was doing some panel work, nothing fancy, just adding gauges. All of a sudden, the shift and ctrl key combos have stopped working. At some point in the process, I did have a bluescreen crash while exiting MSFS, but I can't remember if it directly preceded the failure of the key combos or not. I have undone the changes I made to the panel, so I can't figure out what's going on.Help!Thomas Perry

Hi Everyone,I have re-worked Marcus Thomsons excellent Sound Effects Panel for the PMDG 737 aircraft. I dressed up the panel and fixed the look of the buttons. I have also re-worked/edited Paavo Tihverainen American Airlines sounds and edited them so they are now generic. I would like to upload this package to AVSIM. I need to get in touch with Marcus and Paavo to get their permission, How would I go about this?.ThanksMike

When I hit SHIFT + Z to get frame rates / coordinates cycle it also shows + 1.0 Gs. I have no idea what this means. I'm sure someone out there can enlighten me.

For those who are having difficulty landing the RealAir Spit, here's the technique I recommend:The first thing to remember is that the Spit will exhibit hard landing characteristics if the airspeed isn't controlled well on final. What I mean by that is that you may find yourself bouncing if you don't concentrate hard enough on the airspeed when "rounding out" just before touchdown.What I do when I bring it in is I make sure first and foremost that I don't cut the throttle to idle on approach. I prepare the approach such that I'm flying at about 160 mph when I drop the landing gear, then I allow the airspeed to drop a further 20 mph down to 140 mph on the approach. At this…

I am having a problem with the landing gear sound on most planes. Sound loops over and over after gear has extended/retracted. I have to push Q (sound on/off) then Q again to stop it. Same problem occurs with flaps at times. I believe this is due to having a crappy Turtle Beach sound card. I am running sound acceleration at 'basic' in the DXDIAG menu. At 'full' there was a considerable sound delay so I set it back to basic. Am I overlooking something else ? I am reluctant to use a Soundblaster card as they have caused system freezes in the past. If I set weather, say fog, snow, rain or whatever, it's that way when I depart. However, once into the flight it clears up. If I refresh the screen the weather comes back. Have I unclicked a setting? Thx!Billg

which is the best freeware/payware (if any) 747-400/200 panel in your opinion?I use Massimo Grassi's creations for both 744 and 742,i think it's currently the most realistic.Does anyone know if there is a good freeware panel for the jumbo?

Hi,As the title suggests...has anyone here tried the autogen available from vfrautogen.co.uk yet? Does it work OK? How does it look...it looks good from the small screenshots at the website, but, in reality? Is it enhanced over and above the default? Any impact on fps? Hi all, hopefully someone can give me an answer to the following. I like flying some of the "heavy" jets, (757/767/777) on flights but seems that either I have been doing something wrong, or the aircraft in question has a problem. These 3 aircraft I have downloaded from various places/modelers so they have not come from the same authors, but they all exhibit the same problem, so it leads me to believe its "me" that is the problem. Scenario: I create a flight plan in FS2004, say Los Angeles to New York, I have the autopilot set for roughly an 1800 to 2200 foot per minute climb, speed settings, direction, barometric settings vary as directed by ATC. Hi,I use Arrestor Cables 2.53 and FSUIPC 3.470 registred with the Waikato aircraft carrier. The catapult works fine, but the cables don't catch my aircraft. I tried nearly everything. I always press F11 to restart ArrCables before I land, but they don't catch it!! Just for checking if my flight skills are the problem here I drove over them slowly but it didn't work neither. Maule M7-260 Amphibian Roll sounds in the amphib are present when at a standstill or even when "cold and dark". After fooling with it this morning, I discovered it is a glitch in the amphib's sound.cfg (...Maule M7-260 soundssound.2) Open the sound.2 folder and then it's sound.cfgScroll down to: [GROUND_ROLL]filename=mrollflags=125218viewpoint=1minimum_volume=6000 //80maximum_rate=1.8link=GROUND_ROLL1 That will fix it up!! Just wondering if flying a STAR would alleviate the issues with FS ATC descending you too quickly. I know STARs can control the direction of the approach, but what about altitude?Thanks in advance!Barry

Hi GuysI downloaded the freeware Virgin Atlantic GlobalFlyer (thanks aeroplaneheaven.com.) and the install programme wants to overwrite write protected files but doesn't say what they are. When I call up the GPS or the map view, FS freezes at certain areas.I have all FS Freeware mesh/water/roads/landclass installed, and some areas with different LODs overlap.Can this be the result of the max_terrain_vertex_level setting used?BTW, I consider mesh, vector objects (streams, roads,...) and landclass to be almost impossible to handle properly.Landclass needs to be at a very low layer, vector objects don't respect others at different levels, with mesh I'm unsure if FS handles different LODs at different layers for the same region properly.And, installing vector object files such as roads can be adventurous since in many cases, original BGLs need to be deleted.So,…

Hi all,I have Flight Simulator 2004 and at the end of my flight, I like to save those flights. The next time I run the FS9 and select the saved flight, it does not bring up the flight I saved. Enstead, it takes me to the default Tocama airport in Seattle in the Cessna 172SP and this was not the flight I saved or selected. I've already tried reinstalling FS9 and it still will not take me to my saved flight. The only thing I can think of now is that there is a missing dll file for my operating system, which is Windows Xp. Does any of you know what is causing the problem?Thanks, Ken.

I've seen screenshots of add-ons with more realistic looking lights. The ones Im using right now (I assume they are default) look like giant balls of fire (I'm talking about the navigation lights). Anyone know where I can find replacements?

I have received an e-mail from WMPro stating that a patch to address a number of issues will be released this Friday. At the same time an instruction manual will also be made available. Has anyone experienced sluggish performance while flying this aircraft in VC mode? While I am getting good framerates (25+) it appears sluggish while flying. What I mean is that the view is acting like the framerates are under 10 but they in reality aren't. My thinking is that is a gauge or gauges causing this jerkiness but not sure how to fix.
