What do I tell the guy at work that has a pilot's license that insults me and says "flight simulators are only for those people that don't have the guts too really fly"?I told him I can do much more then just putter around the local airport and stop some where for lunch. I can fly almost any plane I want and in any condition I want. I have no restrictions on where I can fly and I can do it any time I want. No resevations and no fees. I know flightsim doesn't compare much to the real thing, but it still gives me alot hours of enjoyment. I don't know if he would ever understand how. Any more thoughts?

Your help please...Suddenly I've got clusters of white rectangles popping up in the vicinity of some airfields in FS9.Have not added any scenery or changed any settings.They look like white apartment blocks.Anyone got a clue what's causing them.Thanks.Frank

As far as I know the Eaglesoft Cessna Citation X have a FMC (like the real plane) but this is not fully implemented.I would like to know what features are implemented and what is omitted?

I would appreciate help with the following problem....If I fly in British Columbia between Needles and Castlegar I seem to have 2 squares at the bottom of a couple of valleys which on Close inspection have turned out to be water! I therefore deleted all my scenery enties above layer 38 in the scenery.cfg file but the squares were still apparent. I attch a picture of the problem & if you can point me in the right direction my thanks should be taken very greatly.RegardsMatt

I think to remember reading (somewhere in the forums maybe?) that Reality XP gauges have a fixed FPS, but I cannot longer retrieve that information (Yes, I tried Advanced Search). Does anybody knows if I am right and what are their FPS?

Hi,I have a very annoying problem: in the VCs of the advanced aircraft such as the F1 Cessna Cardinal or Cessna 310, the needles of the guages don't move smoothly, but jump to different values in big, unsmooth way. For example, if the VSI needles moves from 500 to 0, it doesn't slide smoothly from one value to another like in the 2d panel, but changes immediately from 500 to 0.Does anyone know how to fix it?Thanks,Guy.

What do people feel are the best water textures for video cards that only use DX8? I've seen some wonderful textures from Bill Lyon but, if I'm not mistaken, I think many of his recent ones are only DX9 compliant. Any recommendations out there? Thanks!

I need some advice on creating some. I have Ultimate Traffic and registered version of FSUIPC and fs9.1, and my AI traffic at 100%, but there isn't much traffic at the airport I like to fly from (EGNT). I'm sure there's more in the real version!Anyway - does anyone know the quickest and easiest was of adding new traffic to an airport?Thanks in advance.Gary

This bugs me......if I am in IFR from point to point and I want to shorten the flight, I move the plane via the icon on map to some forward position, when I go back to the cockpit I have lost the flight plan and have to use direct to approach..........is this the way it is, or am I doing something wrong?? Some of these flights get to long and dinneris cold and so is she!!! Appreciate tips on staying in the same flight plan.........thanks

Hi all,I am looking to expand my cockpit and buy project magenta for use with the PMDG.Is this possible? Hey guysRecently I had to perform a system restore on my computer system, and ever since, whenever I click the the shortcut to FS9 or FS9.exe, the splash screen pops up, but nothing else happens. I have waited over 20 minutes at a time to see if was loading slowly, but to no avail. I have uninstalled and reinstalled many times and it has no effect. What is preventing FS2004 from loading? I noticed tonight that when you are trying to create a flight plan in FS9, in the flight plan menu, you cannot select addon scenery for either a departure or arrival airport. The button is grayed out. Is there something wrong with my installation, or is this normal. I never noticed this before as I always use FSNav for flightplans, but tonight I tried to load an FSNav flightplan on some add-on scenery ( Misty Fjords) and I exported the plan to FS9 in the normal way, but FS9 would not load the plan. That is when I tried to do the plan in FS9's own flight plan creator and it wouldn't let me select add-on scenery for Punch bowl's input, or any other add-on scenery I have li…

I've just noticed something. Whenever I get a NAV radio failure on the default C172 (or any aircraft using the same radio panel), I can't change frequencies on the same COM radio. So, if NAV1 is out, COM1 can't be changed. And if NAV2 is out, COM2 freezes.Anyone else have this problem or know how to fix it?

Hi,Downloaded FSNavigator 4.6 for evaluation but have a problem, I don't see any online traffic on the FSNavigator map even thought I have the 'Multiplayer Aircraft' option switched on. I'm connected to IVAO using the latest version of IvAp and have of course connected to the multiplayer session in FSNavigator as described in the documentation.Anyone got this to work? I'm not interested to invest EUR35.00 in FSNavigator if the integration with online flying doesn't work as advertised...TIA,

Hi, After the usual windows xp crash, I lost FS9 with all my addons now with a new install when I run FS9 my interior instrument panel is all black but the VP is O.K. Can anyone give me a clue as to what happenedor how to fix this.This has happened on any aircraft. FS9 is on a seperate hardrive.Thanks Tony
