Flying a Piper now and then with a friend. Have noticed that the plane must be connected to ground with a cable before filling petrol. This is of course to avoid sparks of static electricity, that could start a fire. But why is this not necessary with cars? They are also on insulating rubber tires.Roland

Hello.When I fly FS2004 online, mostly with VATSIM, I Always get an error come up when a new player comes in the session. It warns me that some features of the aircraft are not compatible and do I want to not have those aircraft show. I click no, and it comes up alot. Is there anyway to stop this?

Many of my aircraft panels seem to fall very slightly short of the left and right-hand edges of my screen, by a millimetre or less. The problem with this is that the outside scenery shows through very slightly, much brighter than the background to the panel. This wouldn't matter too much, but that little slivver of light at each side of the panel flashes rapidly - it is very distracting. I have tried increasing the panel size to fill the tiny gaps (by altering the "window_size_ratio" and "window_size" values in the panel.cfg very slightly), but no matter how much I change these values from the default 1.000 nothing happens at all to the window size. Everytime I fly the AlliedFSG PC-12, (which is a great freeware plane by the way), and then exit, FS9 crashes. I think I've narrowed the problem down to the fact that I am logging flight time; for some reason FS won't recognize the Pilatus and it crashes. Does anyone have any ideas on rectifying this, is there an entry that's missing in the aircraft cfg file,or the FS cfg file?

Hello people - I need some help with flying at high altitude IFR. I posted this in the ACtiveSky forum, but it's not really a problem with ActiveSky I don't think.Basically, I'm happily flying along, and I start to get a tail wind. The wind as about 80kts and because the air is moving in the same direction of the aircraft this stops the wind flowing over the wings in the right direction at the right speed. My speed is currently saying 156kts, GS is 345 and it's mach .46. Basause my my speed is 156 kts, my aircraft has pitched right up, and now requires flaps to be deployed to prevent my aircraft from stalling. I was going to post this on the Misty Fjords forum but it seems my registration application for that forum has vanished into the ether.While overall this addon is a very impressive piece of work I find that if you don't enable water effects the water textures are extremely dark - almost black. I know this is supposed to be deep water but I assume it isn't that dark. Furthermore if you enable water effects the textures are much lighter. Is there some way of fixing this? Enabling water effects on my system nearly halves FPS and oftentimes looks worse.I think if you came to this package having only used default mesh and scenery you would be blown away with it. does anyone know if failures will work in FS9 with addon aircraft? i tried to fail an engine in a md83 within 3 minutes but nothing happened at all. was wondering if the failures only work with the default aircraft. anyone know? william

I bought the new Aerosoft german airport scenery that has Berlin (EDDT) in it and when I go to download real world weather while Im at Berlin (it don't happen at any other airports) FS9 crashes! Any ideas on what is going on?

I purchased FSBuild today from SimMarket and I can not install the program because it keeps telling me that my serial number is wrong. I am using the Registration Key that was sent to me in my order confirmation email. I have reentered numerous times and also copied and pasted from the confirmation email to make sure I didn't have a typo, but to no avail. I have opened a trouble ticket with SimMarket and posted on FSBuild's forum, but still after 8 hours I have no help as of yet. Hello,I was not aware that FS9 doesn't load the levelD 767 for win98/ME until after I purchased the plane tonight. The FAQ states that the plane will not work with win98/ME but I could not read the FAQ until after purchase. Save your $$. I know many have been quite happy with the product, but for me it was quite a dissappointment in several areas. I currently use PMDG's 737, B1900D, Meridian & Eaglesoft products, with wonderful performance in all areas. For starters, even with the display sliders almost fully to the left, I find performance not worth the trade up in functionality the product offers. I find the sound package to be unpleasant, if not unrealistic. The image quality for 2D panel is fairly good. I'm not sure how the flight modeling compares to real world experience, but it feels very mushy and more like a larger aircraft in my experience.In the main 2D view, when chan…

So, I have had this plane since Sunday, my steam powered modem took 12 hours to DL it, I installed it straight away, and took my first flight.At first I was not that impressed, and it seem that is was not up to the standard set by PMDG 737NG, I took my first flight and was immediately struck by 2 "bugs", firstly, I couldnt get the ILS to tune, it turns out I was tuning the wrong radio, RTFM, secondly I was having VNAV issues, again, it was down to me and I should RTFM :-lol.I made the mistake of thinking that because I could fly the 737, PSS A320 and SSW A310 I would be able to fly this one without problem, certainly not the case.So here I am 4 days into the 767, and I th…

just wondering if anyone is using any "failure generator" type programs and if so how do you like it? I'd like to try one to really get more realistic. after thinking about it, it seems VERY unrealistic to fly without something along those lines. i know the failures work for the default aircraft but not for addons that's why i'm asking. thanks, william

I recently downloaded the Posky A330-300 v2 baseback which works fine. I downloaded Northwest textures for the PW version, put the texture folder in the Correct aircraft folder, renamed it texture.2, and properly edited the Aircraft.cfg file.Everytime I try to load the Northwest A330-200PW, I get "Aircraft Initialization Failure". I searched this forum and did the FS9 troubleshoot-reset default and edit the fs9.cfg file by deleting from "Situation" on down and saved the edit. Still the same result.Any suggestions?

I have the PF Fokker installed in FS2004 and can't get the autopilot or A/T to work. I tried going to the forum called out in the manual and it won't allow me to enter. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Bob.

I was cruising the library today and saw that the Fokker 70/100 package from the Project Fokker guys is up to 71000 downloads and counting. Very, very impressive. Obviously a plane most of us have on our HD somewhere.I have it too, but dont fly it much. I guess Im intrigued by what makes this plane such a popular download? Its very good and of course freeware! but I never thought it was simply amazing, which is what this number of DL's would lead one to believe.No disrespecting this very good plane or the hard work thats in it, but what makes this such a popular download?
