Well I could not resist the temptation to fly a heavy. I made my maiden voyage today. My first flight was disappointing. The airplane would not climb correctly and it took forever to get to cruise altitude. I did not realize that the config tool did not control the actual fuel in the plane (must be changed in FS itself). Ok, second flight, from Denver to Salt Lake. Perfect. No problems (other than the pause-no sound issue). I know there are other problems that users are having, and thus I look forward to the day of the patch, although I had no problems on my flight. I am sure I may encounter some in the future. I must say, I did feel like I was in a 767, especially with t…

After many months of development the first version of the system is online now at www.fseconomy.com. It's basically a freeware system for GA pilots to fly assignments and rent planes. There's also support to form virtual airlines and fly together. It works together with most addons (weather/aircraft).A lot of neat stuff has been added like a fully automatic trip finder that will calculate trips for you based on your flying preferences and produces interactive relief maps.So if you're a GA pilot and you often find yourself wondering where to fly next, this will definitely help you. This addon will bring you to many small fields you've never visited before!Hope to see you a…

You know, I'd like to fly some of these heavy jets with FMC, but I just am paranoid or something about the FMC. I DO fly heavies and enjoy them...but only if I can use the default GPS. I never learned how to use the FMC, and I've EVEN have downloaded tutorials to learn it...but never did. I love using the GPS in Microsoft. It's easy and I'm very busy in my life to try to learn the FMC. I have the PMDG 737 but after buying it discovered the FMC and I've shelved it. I feel badly reading all the positive comments on the plane, because I'm just too d_ _ _ lazy to learn this navigation technique. Now I'm feeling very alone because the new 767 is out and everybody is giving it …

Hey,Ive been waiting for the FCA330 for a long time and was really happy when they released the A330RR not long ago. Im really impressed with the aircraft. Flies nicely, looks great, i notice a few repaints being uploaded every once in a while.Does anyone know if they are going to release the other models? Is it strictly going to be the 200 series or will the 300 follow as well? Is there a website i can go to for more information?ThanksGrubby

Message OK so I might have done something wrong somewhere along the line but WHERE???!!!. Let me first explain. I have large areas of gray in my scenery. Some cover about 100 square miles (diamond point and strom for example) Another covers the whole New York and surrounding area.(about 2-300 square miles and yet another place is upsyate New York with the scenery hap hazardly gray in smaller patches mixed with good but the latter covering maybe 5-600 square miles. Pause on specific waypointIs there a way to do that ? Coders : Is there a way to do that with a specific module ? I must apologize because this has been asked several times in the past. The only possibility i've seen is using a commercial Cessna 142 add-on....Maybe there's something new out there ? -Jerome COVINI

Hi,impossible to ignore the hype about the Level D 767. Everybody keeps on saying how sophisticated it is. This however makes me wonder how DIFFICULT it is to learn to fly the thing. Do I need to read through thousands of pages of manuals?I am quite comfortable with the PMDG 737NG and its FMC, as well as with the PSS Airbusses and Dash8 and the FMC(U) there, and also the Eurowings Commuter add-on. So, in comparison to that? Is it that much trickier? Also, is there a tutorial "767 for dummies" which allows me to follow everything step by step, from setting the FMC to starting the engines to taking off to cruising to descending to landing/autolanding? I am not much into syst…

Hi Folks,Many thanks go to Heather for her tireless efforts to make our flight sim world a great place!First, she has been providing us with many excellent repaints and now she has set up a new fantastic site fly-heather.avsim.net/index.html which has her repaints as well as a great list of available scenery in our fs world. The scenery list is arranged by regions and individual countries and has pictures and links to the scenery for download. If you haven't seen it, I suggest you give a try - really a wonderfull resource for us all. Thanks again Heather.

Anybody using all 3 programs at the same time? If so, how do you use them all at same time? The advantages?I use GPSOUT and FSNAV which I find quite satisfactory for navigating. I did not venture into FSMM yet.Tell me what I am missing.Thanks.Abe

High, for about two weeks, I am experiencing an annoying, delayed loading of aircraft textures. When flying with ** B-17 in 2D cockpit, for two or three minutes straight ahead and then looking outside to the left (keypad 4 command), I am seeing the left wing and engines without any texure placed on, and it takes , may be, half a second until aircraft textures become visible. I am quite certain that, I did a lot of flights before, with the same aircraft, and I have never looked at the uncoloured, aircraft model. Aircraft texure was already applied, whenever looking outside left or right. There was never any delay in applying the textures. Anything must have been changed in…

Hello again all you friendly flight simmers. Okay here is my question. Lastnight I took off form Glasgow airport in my Virgin 747-400, I was climbing through 19,000ft with my fps @ 40-50 with AS2004.5 latest build, clouds all over the place, when all of a sudden my frames went to 1.0, as i got to 20,000ft. This was not the first time this happened, x( then what i did is i slewed forward for a bit and then my frames when back up. Next I set my gps to direct to KLAX which showed that it would take 8:45min, this should put me an hour or so out of KLAX by the time i woke up at 11:00 am, well not exactly. I wake up at 11:30 thinking I overshot KLAX, not in the slightest, my gp…

Is there any way to further improve the texture quality in FS2004? I've set the Terrain Texture Size to 100 and the Global Max Texture Size to massive. Extend textures is on. I've set anisotropic filtering to 8x, which makes a huge difference (I highly recommend it if your video card's control panel allows it) but only really on textures where there is a low viewing angle (such as flying low over plains).I think the problem I have is with how FS reduces the texture quality over distance. It seems to reduce it too close, which produces an ugly world. Especially so in mountainous areas, where the angle is high (ie. your flying almost stright into the ground texture on a hil…

Installed Holger`s great Misty Fjords and Columbia River Gorge sceneries.Had CTDs with CRG traced to "simple" conflict with Lennart`s Textures.BUT,during the trial and error process I did something bad - I know not what but I have now spent 2 weeks trying to find out!All default airports and often add-on airports(except UK2000)have all grass infill areas replaced by the underlying ground texture.Runways, aprons, buildings etc. are there but the infill texture is mottled forest or townscape depending on where the airport is sited.BTW I have rebuilt my scenery cfg to reflect best-practice (I hope!)ie.default/mesh/landclass/scenery objects in layering priority.Be really glad o…

Hi all,I have the Heathrow Pro scenery but I don't like the author's method of using photo for pure ground textures--I really can't afford to use massive textures with AI's and flying CPU intensive aircrafts. Are there other alternative EGLL sceneries?

Hello guys, due to a malfunction in my PC I had to re-intall the PSS Buses for fs9, now when I connect the autothrottle and the autopilot the planes enter an uncontrably spin until they crash, could someone help me with this?, I already downloaded again from the PSS page and changed to the "generic" panel .cfg that seems to be their solution but nothing works, any help would be appreciated, thanks, Jacobo

I had never heard of them before they released the 767, and they have kind of rocked the fs world, to say the least. I can't remember any addon having the kind of impact this one has had. billg

Because it works! This has to be the most bug-free initial release ever. Need LNAV/VNAV to fly a complicated STAR? No problem. Need 180+ to the marker? No problem. I am absolutely amazed by this aircraft. Thank you LevelD for a job truly well done. It's put a lot of fun back into flying.Doug

Is there any basic 101 tutorial on how to fly choppers in FS9 that is better than was is in the FS9 documentation? Thanks,Jim

Hello, everyone.I want to thank Rana and everyone involved with this project. This is one of the missing links in this simulator and it's a great addition. What I find in the sims is that it's a lot more difficult to taxi then in real life. I use a Zoom factor of about .5-.7 but the visual perspective and the angle of view, from inside of cockpit makes it very difficult to taxi / navigate on the ground. Using this tool and the Airport diagrams available on the net you can easily create a very accurate moving airport diagram.I've put together all the information, and 2 airport diagrams, of the KLGB and KSNA to get an idea of what can be done. I also outlined in what I hope…
