Flying DFs awesome A36 from SNA to SNS on an IFR GPS direct flight, I was cruising fine at 10000 for 15 or so minutes, when ATC asked me to climb to 11,000. This bewildered me because they have never asked me to climb during the cruise phase. And then, at 10,800 they told me to descend back down to 10,000. This isn't necessarily a bad thing obvioulsy, but this has never happend to me before. Anyone else had a similar situation?

I have been flying since the pc jr days using what was available then and the only programming I knew was assembler and basic LOL.I just did a flight that had to be "AS REAL AS IT GETS"I took off from KLGA for a direct Flt to KATL.I did a fuel calc and flight plan and at FLT LEVEL 360 everything was perfect from T/O to APPR.This is what I used to enjoy the perfect flight.1. 3. Has anyone had and solved this problem?I have been having a problem with autopilot speed control and (lack of) throttle response after LONG (many hour) periods of flying on the autopilot. This happens on different aircraft (e.g. FSD Piaggio Avanti, Aeroplane Heaven Virgin GlobalFlyer) so I believe its ultimately a problem with settings in one of my .ini or .cfg files.Speed control is gradually lost (plane speed sometimes drifts up, sometimes down) from the A/P setpoint. There is no response to a change in setpoint. Most aggravating part is that when I shut the A/P speed control off, the throttle doesn't respond to manual changes either.Sometimes I get control back abruptl…

Good day! For those of you who have visited my web site, you will know that I list U.K. scenery by the individual country. The problem I have, however, is that in most cases, every time I find reference to a location in the U.K., it is usually shown by either the airport code, or city, U.K.For me, not being familiar with more than the larger cities in the U.K., such as London, Liverpool, Belfast, Edinburgh, etc., this makes it difficult in determining where these scenery locations are by country. It would be like me telling you the name of some town in the U.S. such as, Somewhereville, U.S.A and then you being left to figure out which state it is in. More often than not, …

Do the boffins at Airbus, Boeing & Pilatus help people like Posky, iFDG & AFG when they want to create planes for FS9 with accurate flight-modelling? I've always wondered about this and wanted to ask all of you if that was the case - or if most of the flight modelling in FS9 was educated "guesstimation" using input from real airline pilots perhaps? :)How are details that I see in the aircraft.cfg arrived at? Stuff like this:------------------------------------max_pitch_acceleration=1.000000max_pitch_velocity_lo_alt=2.000000nav_proportional_control=9.000000nav_integrator_control=0.250000nav_derivative_boundary=0.000000------------------------------------I think it …

Hi everyone. Bought this plane and really like it but the documentation in my opinion is woefully inadequate. I cannot get it to fly the GPS flightplan despite trying everything - including clicking the navomatic to GPS mode and then clicking nav.Can someone please help? Also - where do you change the altimetre settings please? There doesnt seem to be a way to fly the plane fully om autopilot to the desired altitude.ThanksJohn

I have posted this in the SP2 form, but as that one will be probably shut down I will also post it here. Maybe the following is allready common knowledge, but anyway:When you have SP2 installed and cannot open the UT interface any more, i. e. you click on the ultimatetraffic.exe and nothing happens, then the reason for this is probably, that you have DEP (Data Execution Prevention) switched on for ALL programms and services. You can change this in CONTROL PANEL -> SYSTEM -> ADVANCED TAB -> PERFORMANCE SETTINGS -> DATA EXECUTION PREVENTION TAB. Make sure that "Turn on DEP for essential Windows programs and services only" is checked or if you have cheked the othe…

I must admit to like flying in the VC -- and some aircraft seem more suited to it than others. For example, I can never get an eyepoint that suits me in the DC3. I have tried all sorts of different points but have basically decided that the VC in the DC3 can't really be used. I know that in most VCs you don't have a view of all the primary gauges -- but in many, a little bit of decision making between what zoom factor you use and the position of the eyepoint usually makes them useable. What are your personal preferences with VC equiped a/c -- from the point of view of useability.Barry

From a real pilot perspective, is it correct to say that when you reach the transition altitude (18,000 feet by default in FS), you must:- change the altimeter setting to the standard setting (29.92 inHg or 1013.2 hPa)- manage the speed in Mach instead of knotsIf this is wrong, please let me know when should I switch to Mach speed during the climb. Thanks !!Eric

Looking for some pilots that own the new A36 by dreamfleet. I bought the aircraft on saturday and must say, its one of those a GA lover must have. I would like to do a fly-in one weekend with just A36's. Would anyone be interested in doing this and is it something i should look in to? Would you participate in this event?I could have ATC arranged and set up. This flight would be strictly for the Dreamfleet A36. :)let me know if i should look into this.:-wave

I'm using the excellent Level D 767 and have started to use the fantastic freeware moving map display within the electronic kneeboard. My question is: Can I make the kneeboard any bigger so that it fills my second monitor? You can't stretch the edges like a normal box in windows. Any help on resizing the kneeboard would be most welcome.Kevin

After flying in FS for years now, I thought I ask how others do it, maybe somebody can tell me how it's done in real life:I'm talking about VOR/VORDME/DME and pure visual approaches.Smaller planes are easier, I know, but I'm interested in the heavy iron since that's what i fly most of the time.Let's take my latest favorite for instance, TNCM. The approach is mainly visual, but there's a VORDME available. It's convenient to take a plane like the 737NG or the LDS767 where the ND can display that nice arc which I can take as a reference, but I often take planes with very basic instruments (e.g. DF727).I'm not a pro in maths, and my brain must somehow have an allergy calculati…

Hi,I'm using the saitek X52, and I'm trying to assign the spoilers to my "slider." I go into options/controls/assignments/joystick axis. I then select "spoiler axis." If I move the z-axis/throttle, everything works fine and I've assigned the throttle to the spoilers. Now if instead I move the "slider" on my throttle FS picks it up but in the game moving the slider does nothing. Also, if I move the rotary axis, when assigning the spoilers, FS picks up the rotary axis but then nothing happens in the game itself.Has anyone got any suggestions? Thanks

I received the much anticipated MegaCity Denver today. I just finished thoroughly testing it in different seasons, times of day, etc. and am very impressed. I live in Colorado Springs, and am quite familiar with the topography and buildings along the front range cities and found VFR flying at about 4-5000 AGL just about perfect. The night lighting is truly spectacular! The only thing that I don't really like is that the winter textures (which are completely snow covered) are displayed even if one chooses the "fall" setting in the Time/Season tab on the World menu...this gave me November 5th. Outside of the new scenery boundary the colors were appropriately fall, but…

With the new development of the function to allow for more than 1 person to be in the same plane virtually (ie pilot, copilot, passenger, etc) info http://www.gates.to/ I was curious to know what others thought and also, after seeing a few screens of this and empty cockpits, wondered if developers should/will provide new visual modeling to make this feature a little more realistic visually, meaning pilot figures in the VC. As someone that does 3D design, I understand more polys, means less performance, but I for one, would be willing to lose a few elsewhere to have a visually more convincing VC. Like the new feature in the A36 where you can toggle the VC from the panelGr…
