Hi, I`ve downloaded Pankkenons`s AS365 (that one with AP and stuff for FS2002) in a FS9 version, as the HH65A Dolphin. The helicopter flies great but the GPS screen is missing as some other stuff (like that little AP altitude indicator and the DME display, I guess). I mean, the "frame" is there but just seens like the GPS is off. Firstly with the weather is anyone else having wild winds aloft transitions. Also i thought i read somewhere that weather in fs 9 was downloaded and then semi simulated the future based on meterological fundamentals, is this true, or do you need to get the 15 min update to get that. I havent yet seen a difference in the weather as opposed to 2002 in terms of functioning except maybe rain and snow, if someone could point out the differnces or point me in the direction of some info id appreciate it. Or like a brief rundown of the weather in fs9. Also any random tidbits would be appreciated.

I've downloaded the IFDG's A319, MD-11, 767 and 757 too. The thing is the A319 and the MD-11 decrease my FPS to about 17, and with these planes, sometimes, it takes a while to load the texture (it keeps gray until loaded). Hello friends :)Wondering if you could advice on a problem I have with the water effect in FS9.I have been using the OceanFX program for months now and it has worked just great.However all of a sudden something wierd has happened. When I fly over water I notice that Im surrounded by a giant cross-shaped anomaly that has absolutely horrible tiled water effects within it that spoil the OceanFX's effects....but beyond its borders the water is perfect. Is there a freeware replacement for the orange wind direction indicator in fs9? its just that the default one isn't that realistic looking when there is any wind.:(

I have just purchased the DF727 which has been described as very easy on framerates in this forum.My framerate drops down to 10 sometimes and usually lie at 13 - 18.Is this normal? I have several sliders fairly much at left.I'm considering buying the PMDG 737NG 800/900. But I have some concerns about what performence I can expect. Using FS 2004 - I installed "U.S. Airports 1" and "MDG 737-800/900". On any of the 4 U.S. Airports in the U.S. Airports program, the "Turn On Progressive Taxi" does not work. I was told that I could use the "Push Back Truck" (which is usually parked close to the aircraft) or the "Truck Follow Me" to take me to the assigned Runway. Please advise. Thank you. Pepe

With all the great new engine sounds being posted here in the library it would be nice to know what engine types are used on the airliners we fly. This way one could match up the correct sound with the engines. For example the Airbus 320 typically uses either IAE V2500 or a variation of the CFM engines depending on the specific airline. How would I find the type of engines used on Southwest's Boeing 737-700 series aircraft? I searched airliners.net but could not find what I needed. Maybe there is a better site.Thanks!Airbus

I thought this was all clear to me - but I find that one aspect is not!There are many instances in the AVSIM file library of scenery files being available for FS2002 only, but where an AFCAD for FS2004 has been posted to update the scenery. I assumed that the new AFCAD would replace the old - but I have just tried installing UUDD scenery by Gary V. The old AFCAD, UUDD.bgl, that comes with the package is several hundred KBs in size - the AFCAD2 file for FS2004 that has been posted specifically for this scenery, AF2_UUDD.bgl, is about one tenth the size (and has no installation instructions - probably assuming that it is obvious!). I have downloaded and installed the latest version of Flightsim Manager and am aghast to find the number of errors the diagnostic tool has found in my FS installation. Many scenery errors where the scenery number doesn't match the layer ID,literally dozens of effects file missing from various a/c, problems with panels with missing files and gauges.Try it out -- you may be in for a surprise.Barry

I'm having major problems switching from Window mode back to full screen, it seem to stall the sim. While in window mode I select full screen from the dropdown menu. The "hourglass" icon starts flashing and the sim freezes. This only happens in FS2004 so I wanted to ask here... I have the Logitech Freedom Cordless Joystick, and its really great... except I've noticed that when it goes offline to save battery power, the throttle in FS2004 automatically goes to full throttle. Is there any way I can prevent this?

FYI, there is a Baron throttle quadrant (misspelled as "Barron") for sale on Ebay (currently at about $50). This one is in far better condition than the one I converted for use with MSFS - including trim wheels, flaps and gear switches, and a few gauges. These units are fairly easy to convert with RC plane linkages hooked to sliding potentiometers from Mouser. Some have used USB pots and achieved even better results.
