So I just went and bought Aerosoft US Cities X Chicago, Las Vegas and San Francisco. To my horror, after investigating further, I've read on loads of other sites that they are all really bad on FPS, and combined with PMDG aircraft and other payware airports and traffic, you get awful frame rates. I currently can get in the mid-70s at Friday Harbor (no addons), and with addons in built up cities with the PMDG 737NGX I get in the 30/40s. I'm using a tweaked .cfg file at the moment, and that has really helped keep my frame rates up. Is there anyone who has / has used Aerosoft's US Cities X? Hi, I decided to remove Reshade's annoying popup by removing the d3d (or something like that .dll file). However, I also accidently deleted other .dll files that start with a "d" or anything near them. Now when I turn on boom, the aircraft startup screen tuns back and if you load it with bloom, it loads, but there is no aircraft. Another problem is that when I do turn off bloom (I use DX10 with fixer), the ground textures have turned into water and all the objects just floating above it. What's going on? Which file did I delete and how do I fix this? Can someone please take a screenshot of their main FSX folder around the .dll files starting with "d"? Here a…

Does anyone know of any 2015 updated AI Flight plan packages or any new AI Traffic programs. I have been running UT2 for years and no updates have been made in 3 years. I am looking to update my AI flight schedules (US Airlines American, Delta, Southwest, ect….) I am not ready to manually create them from scratch I just do not have the time. Thanks in advance

hi, i am having a problem with trying to install rex onto my pc. Every time i try to install it, a message that says "source file not found" C:Users\username\Downloads\Rex 120-A\rexte.1cab. Verify that the file exists and that you can access it. Followed by that is a button that says retry and cancel. I have tried the retry button many times, and still wont work. Does anybody know anything on how to fix this? any help will be MUCH appreciated. Kyle

Hi All, I have almost finished a new build and want to upgrade FSX too. I have read a lot about people installing windows 10 and FSX and having issues. mY first question is, are the issues mostly to do with upgrading OS, or are these issues true for clean windows 10 installs too? Secondly, when I first installed fsx (boxed) I followed an excellent guide by NickN, which outlined system tweaks like turning off windows services etc, as well as fsx settings. Are these system tweaks still valid today on modern and / or windows 10 systems? Kind regards, Al

I have found the graphics section of the fsx cfg file, (in notebook) but cannot edit to add highmemfix=1. There doesn"t appear to be an option to insert any additional line or to edit existing information. Probably an easy explanation, but I have been unsucessful so far. Any suggestions, as I need to add the line to stabilize FSX graphics. Thanks

If I am using the FMC for navigation and for example for the ILS approach, FSX ATC wants to give me vectors... I assume I disable the FMC and follow the vectors? If that is the case, how do you follow a STAR for arrival, if FSX ATC wants to vector you? What happens in the real world as opposed to FSX? Is the STAR generally followed? The same for SID? I just ignored FSX ATC and I got squawked to expedite at until I resumed the course navigation. Just curious how sim pilots handle this issue. Thanks!

I have Anchorage X but its unclear if it comes with surrounding mountain mesh. I also have FSGenesis Alaska-Hawaii Terrain Mesh installed. The mountains sure don't look very good to me. See pic. Is there a way to turn it on and off to see if the mesh is working?

Hi all. I have an annoying problem and it only occurs sometimes. When I take off all the buildings terminals jetways hangers are there however sometimes when I land the hangers and buildings and jetways are there but no terminals. All I have is the jetways in a blank tarmac. I have all sliders pretty low and I am still at 35+ frame rates when I land. However if I refresh the scenery all the terminals appear. I5 16g 3.2 gtx660 running active sky next and Rex 4. Help. Thanks. Scotty

I have been working through getting FSX to run well on my new system: ASUS Maximus VIII Extreme mb i7 6700k (OC'ed to 4.6ghz) GTX980 4gb video card 64gb memory(yea, I know.. overkill) Triple-Monitor(5760x1080) with a 4th touchscreen I am using the FSX CD + Acceleration Pack version. And I am running it as Dx 10 using Steve's DX10 Fixer. I have gone through Steve's 'How To' guide and set all the settings in my fsx.cfg. My gpu is maxed out at 99% most of the time, and I have my Affinity set to 254(1111 1110) and it seems to be using all cores except 0(Which is for Windows). Hello; Im thinking about getting either one of those two programs. I have a few questions: My main reason is to replace the IVAO MTL file because I only fly online either on IVAO or VATSIM. With either one of those programs, will I be able to delete IVAO MTL a replace it with one of those two programs? How is the performance of those two programs? How big are those two programs after install? Thank you very much.

In the great Spy vs Spy series :rolleyes: ... I'm looking for a short/medium hauler, shorter runway able, modernish kind of aircraft. Both the QW and Majestic's have had excellent reviews, and seem to be on the good side for framerate on a mid-performance computer. For those who have both, what does differentiate them for the best (and the less good) ?

I can't figure out how to do a touch-and-goes with pfe. How would I go about it ? In order for pfe to connect to fsx I need to load an adventure which I have done.Then once on the runway I hit 5 but nothing happens ? Thanks

Hi I remember seeing a small gauge that gives you the course to steer for downwind, base and final after entering in the runway number. Does anyone know the name of this gauge? Many thanks for any replies. John

Hello guys, I am looking to create a flightplan to Kai Tak. I have installed the SID's/STAR's and tested that it is all working well. So now i need to create a flightplan. I have tried PFPX and almost all of the online route finders, without luck. I am going to fly from RPLL - VHHX. Any suggestions as to where i can get a flightplan? Or is the best thing to just route to VHHH and then add VHHX in at the end? Thanks.

Curious....What percentage of commercial and general aircraft do you set in UTX2? I know this affects frames, and I noticed a HUGE difference in frame rates when I temporarily uninstalled UTX2. It definitely affects frames and I still want to have it on my system. I reinstalled and cut the traffic to 50%. Stan

For years I have been using three monitors for FSX. My main monitor is a 22in and it's flanked by two 19in monitors. I run FSX windowed and uses the second and third monitors for charts and for all the 2D panels (overhead, throttle etc).I just noticed a problem where if I undock a panel, my FPS instantly drops by half. Undock another and it drops by half again until I'm at about 4 FPS. I have NEVER had any perceivable performance hit from undocking panels.I'm not exactly sure when the problem started because I have been flying the J41 and 707 a lot lately and I dont use the pop up panels with those planes. After several years of dipping my toe in and out of FSX I have decided at the gentle age of 75 to try and master FSX. Previous attempts have been mixed and I have got bogged won with installing various aircraft that look interesting and doing quick hop skip and a jump with them. Hi I have Windows 7 on my C:/drive and my D drive is an SSD which has all my flight sim software. This is FSX, REX; ORBX Global; ORBX England, Scotland, Wales, & Ireland plus 10 airports. Add on aircraft are PMDG 737NGX + 600/700 expansion pack, A2A Cessna 172 & Carenado B58. Due to a system crash I have had to re-format the C:/ drive and re-install Windows 7. I know I have to re-install FSX, will I have to re-install ORBX and REX or could I copy them first to an external drive and then back into FSX ? Is it okay to format an SSD ? Regards Roy

I have REX Essential w/Overdrive. Would I notice a big difference if I bought REX 4 with soft clouds? I also use P3D v3.1.
