February 20, 201610 yr Hi I remember seeing a small gauge that gives you the course to steer for downwind, base and final after entering in the runway number. Does anyone know the name of this gauge? Many thanks for any replies. John
February 20, 201610 yr Hi John, Not sure if you mean a virtual gauge or one you can actually hold in your hand. I have the latter that I purchased from Sportys a few years ago. It is plastic about 3.75 X 5 inches in size. One side is for left traffic pattern and the other side is for right pattern. You just dial in the direction you are entering the traffic pattern and the runway direction. It then shows the downwind and base directions and of course the runway direction. Pretty handy little device. I believe it is called a visual airport guide by PDQ. Hope this helps. Jim P.S. Just checked my Sportys catalog and they still sell them. It is a little different than the one I have but does the same thing. They call it a Landing Pattern Computer and it sells for $14.95 USD.
