We all have had the problem of the perfect approach being maliciously faulted with the AI floating just ahead. You do not want to do a go around and start from scratch, so you ease back the power and try to keep some distance. I did this today with disastrous results (i.e., I had wake turbulence turned on with ASV). I know there are two programs out right now, Armando Di Francesco's FSAIS and SG-Flightware's AISmooth. I have been to the home discussion forums and seen mixed results. I need some feed back from those who do (or use to) use these programs. Is it worth installing?? Or should I just wait for Traffic 2005 which has AISmooth included? I like my traffic program I…

Hi everyone, sorry for posting this in the general forum, but I think the payware support section doesn't have anything about the Ready For Pushback 747-200. I'm considering buying it, and before I fork out the hefty 44 euros, I wanted to know this: are there proper altitude callouts, starting at 2500 ft? Glideslope warnings? Pull up pull up etc? Or is it like many freeware planes that add the FPDA callout gauge that starts counting down at 400 ft. I'd appreciate input from people who already have the RFP 747. Thanks.

I cannot get sensitivities to a reasonable level! The elevator sensitivity is such that if I am to nose up i'll get about 15 degrees worth, the same if i nose down. Try doing that on an ILS approach in the baron, makes for an ugly one. I've really been trying my hardest to tweak the sensitivities in FS, and when that wasnt working I got the CH program as I have a CH Flight Yoke. I turned the sensitivities down in that, but to no avail. Any more ideas? I looked in the FS9.cfg file to put in "0" for stick sensitivity but it wasnt in there. HELP!Patrick

  5. I am still getting used to flying with a throttle quadrant. I use a CH quadrant with 4 thrust levers. On a recent hand flown, manual thrust approach into Narita, using a MelJet 744, approach weight 435 K lbs, my nose was about 5 to 7 degrees off-center much of the way down the GS from about 1500 AGL. I wondered if there was a x-wind but on short final, I realised that No. 2 engine had an N1 reading that was about 4 to 5% above the other 3 engines. Would this assymetry in thrust really be enough to cause such a yaw on approach and final in the Queen? It's pretty tough getting more or less even N1 on all 4 engines for this type of flying. I find that the levers move very…

HI,I hope this is the correct forum for this question. I've recently started adding some AI aircraft to my airport I created using Lee Swordy's AFCAD2. I've been using mainly PAI and AI Aardvark aircraft -great models.I have listened to the AI sounds in the FS9 sound folder. there seems to be quite a few different jet and turboprop engine sounds but when I add the AI plane to the airport all the jets and turboprops seem to have the same sounds. My question is this: How do the AI engine sounds get assigned to the AI aircraft and is it possible to change the sound assignments?I have tried to figure this out on my own but when my wife started complaining that the house sound…

It's Saturday morning, intended to do some flying, what do I find? Not only has a new version of the FS Painter B777 been released, but within about 10 minutes there are dozens of repaints appearing.Spent all morning downloading them instead of flying.Seriously, thanks to all those freeware guys out there, where would we be without them?Especially you, Yochai Mossi, what was that, 12 repaints in one day?I can't keep up with you!

Recently there was a program mentioned here that would allow simmers to join two versions of FS9 over the internet so that others could play the role of "crew". Does anyone recall the name of the addon and has anyone tried it? I'd be more interested in using it to display 2D gauges on multiple monitors, which I would think would work. Thanks!David

  13. Hey guys,I wanted to see if anyone here, attended the Canadian Aviation Expo in Oshawa, Ontario last weekend?I know this is not related to FS2004, but there was a FS2004 display, with Goflight console and all the CH Products being used...Just wondering..... -----------------------------"There is an art . . . to flying. Those of you who have the PanelAsTexture=0 in their FS9.CFG might want to try PanelAsTexture=1 and check their FPS.I just purchased a new computer and after a fresh install of FS9.1 proceeded to install the tweaks to my fs9.cfg file then checked for performance and noticed my fps had dropped in half! After removing the tweaks individually I discovered the culprit was the PanelAsTexture=0...after changing the 0 to 1 my fps was restored.Dell 8400P4-640(3.2)1 gig ramGeforce 6800FS9.1All sliders full right except clouds 50mi/50miAA off within FS9.

I installed this excellent scenery and after a lot of trouble free VFR flying all over Florida, crossed the pond towards my home airport SKCG. This is what I found when I got there:http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/120846.jpgNow I understand there is an issue with trees coming up as white cards. Thing is the white cards show up at an airport way beyond (over 1000 nm) the freeflow scenery coverage. Besides that, the squares show all over an apron that would normally not have trees growing in the middle of it. I disabled all the scenery entries for the Freeflow florida addon and as expected, the white squares went away. Any clues? Thanks,Mauricio

This has no doubt been said countless times in the last couple of weeks, but I just wanted to make yet another big shout about the latest incarnation of ActiveSky. I believe ActiveSky was my best purchase during 2004, and the latest version cements that view entirely. Its a whole new experience!Yesterday I departed from Dehli in the late evening, bound for Kingsford Smith Intl, Sydney. I was flying a fictional, but superb, United Nations repaint of the Level-D 767 (love UN repaints, even if they are fictional! Means you can pick two random airports anywhere in the world, and fly between them in the knowledge that the reality of the flight is vaguely feasible!). The (…

Hi all,I recall some time ago someone had made a new star.dat file which contained thousands of stars therefore, making the night sky in FS that little more realistic. I have had to reload COF and cannot remember where I downloaded the file from. I believe it was from an aircraft designer and was a free download. Can anyone help me in locating the file - I have searched everywhere...Thanks in advance,
