Guys,ever since I converted to FS9 I have that darn texture shimmering. While my 9700Pro gave a completely stable and quiet picture, in FS9 the carp started. Today I have a 9800XT which shows exactly the asme symptoms. Nothing would make it go away, not even 6xAA which locked everything in FS2K2. Right now I am running the latest Omega's with 4xAA and 8xAF. Anything more is unacceptable performancewise.Anyway, I got used to it. The problem started when I got my new 24" monitor. Everything is a little bigger now :-). Suddenly I noticed that darn shimmering a lot more than before. And now I am hooked. I started to go through all those advanced driver settings like ZBuffer …

Flight1 is excited to present the ATR 72-500 in boxed format, says AVSIM on its newspage. But the shop around my corner already sells the ATR in a boxed version for several months!! So what's new here, not even the dedicated site is new (oktober 2004). Does Flight1 pay for this advertisement?Herrie

I am doing my IFR training for real..and thought of something for folks who might me interested in learning Instrument flying (IFR) procedures on the cheap for flight sim. I am sure.. getting a book would do the trick as well. I initially bought the ASA IP Trainer 7.0 software (but not the whole PCATD thingi Cirrus yoke, Pedals, throttle and AV-1 Avionics). http://www.marvgolden.com/software/asa-ip-trainer.htmI got frustrated with it..cause I never could pass the training in it... Its very very hard. Particularly when it came to using the Radios without an Avionics hardware.. By the time, I could change the frequency.. it would ding me for not changing the frequency soon…

I use flight simulator 2004, and i am getting kind of tired of the very undetailed and boring airports that the standard flight simualtor program has to offer. Does anyone know where i can find a nice variety of new airports/land scenery for a fairly good price? In other words, in your opinion, what add-on scenery programs are the best for your money? Or maybe there are some good free add-ons?thanks so muchGrant

I have this problem that , when I see screenshots of many a/c VC panels, they appear really clear and look great. When I get the a/c , my VCs are OK - but not as clear. I have a Geforce 4 TI 4200 with 128 meg RAM -- not the greatest and latest, I know - but I am wondering if there is anything I can do. I usually run FS on a 17" screen at 1024x768.Thanks Barry

My Baron has a pretty good suite of instruments-but one always wonders what to upgrade to to stay cutting edge.For instance-my plane has a digital vor from the 70's (terra)-it was cutting edge when it came out-now -interesting but....company out of business....Enter Reality Xp Sandel display-1 second and it is on the panel of my Baron in FS and 100% functional to the real unit.Difference is the price-$10,000 US or so to install in the real plane-$19.95 to install in FS.I can try it out in all it's glory-and it is magnificent! I have somehow lost my file GPS_EXPORT.DLL from the Modules directory. I know that I can get the original version of the original FS20)4 disk -- but now that I am updated to FS 9.1, I am wondering if I need an updated verion of this DllIf somebody who has updated FS9 could send the file to wardB3(at)TPG.COM.AU - I would much appreciate it.Thanks Barry

I was messing around installing the update to the new freeware Florida scenery in the Avsim file library, and when I did my first flight the skys were all colorful and strange so I closed out and started to look for the problems, I tried to re-start FS and it starts to open and then it just closes after about 25 seconds. I then delted the add on Florida scenery folders and tried that and nothing,If anyone has any suggestions I would really appreciate it.Thahks Shayne

:-eek Hello, I purchased this about 3 weeks ago... Well I was not too happy with it so I un-installed it. Wish I could trade it in for something else... I hope it is a case of newbie jitters on this software. But Man isn't there anyway to alter the Aircraft Performance Profiles... I mean some of us fly planes other than 777... The plane list on this piece of software really is discouraging. Not to mention no terrain mapping on the map. I guess I bite into something I couldn't chew... I have noticed a line in the sky and I am not sure if it is my monitor or my sim. I just put in my new monitor and it has worked great until I have noticed this line. Maybe you can help me decipher this.

Not long after FS9 came out folks discovered a small display tweek for the cfg that really helped with FPS. The instructions were simply to replace the display line with [DISPLAY.Device.NVIDIA Drivers on Win2K/XP]. I have had great success with this change and substantial FPS improvements. However I just did a new install of FS9 and after making that change FS9 loads to a black screen and I have to ctrl-alt-delete out. Anyone know why that might be?

Hello guys, well i am an average computer user who used to be limited to checking my email and surfing the internet before i discovered flight simulator. however, i only discovered it recently ( 3 months ago ) so i am still limited to installing aircrafts, scenery ( if not too complicated ) and maybe edit a flight plan LOL thats it BUT since i am egyptian and i live in cairo, one of my dreams is to have an ultra detailed scenery of Cairo International for FS9!! i tried and tried and tried to understand how to create a scenery .. but i failed miserably ! :( so what i am trying to do now .. i mean .. why does one person get all the work done by himself ? i am trying to put …

I have the excellent Goose by Bill and Lynn Lyons and recently have a strange problem in all the versions. While flying and while sitting on the tarmarc I get a warning that the landing gear may be damaged by excessive airspeed. I have no idea what I can do to correct this problem. It does not matter if gear is up or down. This has persisted now for a couple of weeks. Any ideas out there?Dave Sheridan

I hope these comments will open your eyes or least get you to think. Most of the US scenery developers are concentrating on smaller airports with only two or three major air carriers while European and Asian developers are doing major city terminals for London, Rome, Paris, Amsterdam, Frankfurt, Munich, Berlin, Copenhagen, Stockholm, Madrid, Tokyo, Osaka and Beijing (too many to list). Is this a lack of interest by US developers or a major question? Large US airports like JFK, ATL, DFW, LAX, LGA, PHL, IAD, Etc. Is there a switch for the rotating light at airports at night that causes a stuttering every single time it passes by ...?It's really very unrealistic and the beam is way whay wai too bright!Or maybe the switch is right next to the switch that Microsoft keeps on forgetting - the one that will switch on the runway lights during the day if the visibility drops (and I'm not talking about 2mi vis)Just thought that someone will know?;-)
