hi allive been watching alot of real world aviation videos of landings from passenger views and is it just me or does FS seem a heck of a lot slower when landing while you look out the wing view / passenger view. There have been numerous real videos of landing from the plane ive seen and the feel of motion seems a lot faster in real life than in FS.What do you think ?

System-Windows XP Home, AMD 2800XP, Nvidia 6600GT 128, 1 Gig RAM, FS2004Location-Asheville, NC (KAVL)Noticed 3-D lights flickering a lot in the evening time...@ 2000-2100 when clouds were present...Clouds are set at %100 3-D and I have only the highway lights set to work (residential is turned off). Seems as if flying thru the clouds caused the lights to turn off (flicker?) and sometimes they will flicker depending on what direction I am in spot view with the a/c on the ground. thanks, Eric

Hi folks,Two questions:1) Is it possible to change the font size in the build-in ATC messages? I want it to be smaller, as I think its taking up too much space on my monitor! (and I don't want to go to a higher res..)2) Is it possible to communicate with the build-in ATC without having to open the text box first, and then pressing '1' or whatever ? I find it tedious to have to open the dialog box every time I need to answer ATC.Thanks much in advance,Krissekrasse 'OY 237, Marty'

For some strange reason, the Flight1 Cessna172 has an ADF gauge in the 2D panel - not actually incorporated into the panel but as a "pop-up".But it has no ADF gauge in the VC. I have added the same gauge as that used in the 2d panel into the VC -- but unfortunately it is not backlit at night like the ret of the VC gauges. Does anybody know of a suitable backlit gauge that could be used. Please don't ask me to ask this question on the Flight1 forum as they consider there that the C172 is perfect in all regards and accept no criticism - either positive or negative. Thanks Barry

Thanks to everyone who took part in the race this year. To answer the question a few have asked, yes there will be a race in 2006.Thankyou as well to those of you who kept in touch with us through the forum, it was good to know we were not alone :-)The winner of the race was Steven Rapp (I am sure he would appreciate his "name in lights" on the forum). There are three more flights being prepared, the first of which will be the Powder Puff Derby (actually lasted for 8 days so we won't fly every leg). I can't give you a date for the "Puff" because the MacRobertson Race took about 1 month to prepare so I have no idea how much more work needs to be done on this one. I will let…

Hi all,Quick question, is there a way to reduce the amount of aircrafts in the FS9 Aircraft folder? I am using only a few planes and sort of thought it might reduce the speed FSim needs to check for all installed A/C.Also does any one knows whether FS9 runs better under Win2000 Pro or XP pro?Tks and regardsRichard Down Under

I again am unsure wonder what EXACTLY the meaning of the following parameters is (I know what they're good for, but only from a very global view, so I'd like to hear the most precise answer possible), and what value ranges are allowed (and make sense?):TERRAIN_ERROR_FACTOR=TERRAIN_MIN_DEM_AREA=TERRAIN_MAX_DEM_AREA=TERRAIN_TEXTURE_SIZE_EXP=TERRAIN_DEFAULT_RADIUS=TERRAIN_EXTENDED_RADIUS=TERRAIN_EXTENDED_LEVELS=Andreas

Hi all,I have this issue: when using FS2004, sometimes (not always), after a while, textures rapidly begin to "degrade" (see for example scenery textures in 2nd screenshot) and then they are not loaded at all (see screenshots).I did a search in AVSIM forums and found several users had the same issue, but it seems no significative explainings or solutions have been found. My system:Barton 2500@3200Abit NF7-S v2.02x512MB Twinmos pc3500Sapphire Radeon 9800Pro 128MBPlease note: the problem is appeared several weeks ago, when the system was not overclocked at all, and equipped with a Radeon 9500Pro. Hence I doubt it's a videocard/hardware issue.I have latest Omegadrivers.BIOS s…

Is there a rule about Scenery Layers in the Scenery Library that one should follow? I suspect that this can be the source of FS not being as "fluid" as it can be.I would love to "re-arrange" my layers to the benefit of my individual needs, but where do I start? What should be on top, below, or in-between. I would love a tutorial or to be pointed in the right direction for this. Thanks and have a great Holiday if you're celebrating.

I am trying to get some AI military traffic at KEDW. I used some flightplans that I found. I have two AFCADS for KEDW. One is the default one (NAMWSceneryAP920160.bgl)and the other is AF2_KEDW.bgl by Dave O'Brien in Addon SceneryScenery. Both have the same reference point of N34 54.3262, W117 53.0229 and 2,302' elevation. My problem is that the military AI float above the taxiways and runways as shown in the screenshot here. When I go into FS2004 and set my A/C at a spot or on the runway the planes elevation is correct as shown here with the F-18 Blue Angels A/C. How can I get the AI to be at the right elevation? I have never had this problem before at any A/P. The elevat…
