I've seen plenty of pics of the new Aerosim Tristar in the screenshot forum, but I can't seem to find any user feedback or opinions on this aircraft.How is it? I'm a Tristar fan and have been waiting for a good FS Tristar for years now. I can see from the screenshots the 3D model is very good, but what about the rest? How is the flight model and panel? I'm particularly interested in the INS/FMS system. How well are the systems modelled? Is there an overhead panel? Can you perform a realistic startup procedure? Have Aerosim modelled the Direct Lift Control (DLC) featured on the real aircraft?Thanks in advance for any feedback.Nick

Like a great many other simmers who attend this forum I am constantly on the look-out for scenery, aircraft, utilities and all the other great contributions to our hobby which do not necessarily cause me to dip into the meager retirement budget. While I cannot download and install all the excellent freeware I do sample as much as possible. Hi,long, long ago I got the FSP Advanced Products (Overland, Simmer's Sky) MD-11 with a Continental OC repaint. Now I got a few more repaints off Avsim (LH Cargo, Continental NC, United, Thai...) and with most of these repaints, the virtual cockpit doesn't load all its textures (it does with United though). Anyone else run into this problem, maybe with another plane? How do I fix it? I copied the fltsim.XX entries so I don't see what could be done there...

Lately, about every 4th flight , I get a Crash to Black Screen. FS9 just locks up. Thankfully, it usually happens after I land. I am flying on Vatsim withUT USA , and a few sceneries, but not many added on since before the crashes began about a month ago. The error message is almost always the same NTDLL.DLL. Anyone else having this problem? I have gone the usualy route of looking for duplicate AFCADS and defragging and running Registry Mechanic and spyware, and still no luck...

Hey.In multiplayer, i am trying to see if i can get the other players names to appear over their aircraft (as they do) from more than 10nm(the default). Is there anyway i can do this?thanks

I don't want the PC to utlize the resources for external view. Infact..I want to delete the view window. but I am unable to.I want the FS9 to be used only for the main panel guages. I want the CPU to be used exclusively for the Aircaft, and guages.How do I do that? If its possible.I would like to use Wideview and other PC for external view.I tried lowering everything when it came to graphics.. and vew and traffic and everything. But minimizing those did not help much.Any ideas?Hmmm....

I have been seeing ads for DVDs with updated terrain. Anyone have these? I have used the products from fsgenesis in the past, but they only took the resolution to about 70m. Is this 'global terrain' at 30m??Anyone had any experience with these?I fly in Alaska, and the Yukon and the rest of Canada and the US, and would love to have the most accurate terrain possible. The mountains of BC are very poorly done in FS.

got their dash 8 a couple of months ago but didn't fly right so i put it on the back burner. fast forward a couple of months, have tweaked out my computer and generally cleaned it up it flies alot better and have been into it for a couple of days now. a bit slower than the big jets it is very smooth and very on the money. will have to come to grips with it's slower speed but it is a fun aircraft to fly. is anyone else flying it? wouldn't mind getting a little discussion going on here about it and or their CRJs. william

Hi all. Somehow I seem to have lost all of my runways/taxiways and ramp at night. They're all gone. The lights are there as well as the terminal buildings, etc. I use Level-D, ASV, FSLive Traffic. Never had the problem before. A search turned up no results. Suggestions? Thanks.

After years of seeking "DA PLANE" I find that in my FS9, the General aircraft are not so bad at all!.Slowly I find myself tooling around with the planes I got in FS. Thats not to say that my hanger is sparse,but rather its overflowing.Kinnda like a pantry shelf full of candy.(Which when overindulged in can make you sick) Costing some many bucks in the process.The only other three planes that appeal to me, I am, a PVT.PILOT SEL since 1974,are the great, FLT.1 "ARCHER", The honest, FLT.1 C-152, and the incomparable Eckert, "STEERMAN" These I have flown.. How does the % traffic setting in the FS options actually work when used together with Traffic2004?Am I right in thinking it limits the number of airline flightplans in use?I had my % at 60%. I was at Princess Juliana and saw the Air France, Continental, USAir that I'd set up.. yet not a sign of the KLM, American or Corsair.I always assumed that the system would use all the airline flightplans but cut a % of flights, whereas it seems to use all the flights but in a % of the airline flightplans.Is this right?

Does everyone anticipate the BEV new terrain program coming in October? I know I do, and I'd love to see the movie they just made available. It's huge, and even with my Cable Modem, I'm not able to do it successfully. It eventually times out because it's so slow. Any secrets to getting it?

Hi everyone!Whenever I click "Fly Now" and the flight is loaded, I get that nasty message "Simulation Paused". It happens with every aircraft, airport, and flight...the sim is paused when the flight is loaded.It used to only happen if I had another application running but now it happens all the time with every flight. I've checked my fs9.cfg but found nothing obvious.Any ideas?Thanks for your help,-Tom

Is there a way to have ATC stop whining about vintage aircraft climb rates? ("XXXX, please expedite your climb to 5,500"). Some of the older aircraft climb at less than 500 fpm.

I recently started having problems with my night textures looking as if they were 8-bit as shown in the following screenshots. I don't have this problem during the day. My monitor is set to Highest 32 bit colors so I have no clue why it is doing this. My LIC Scout loses electrical power after a while -- and, in other a/c, this usually happens to me if I forget to turn on a generator switch. However, The LIC Scout doesn't have a Gen switch. I can easily install another from another a/c -- but before I do that, I am wondering if I am doing something wrong??Regards Barry
