I have been flying GA aircraft for the last 6 months or so, but after getting hooked on Vatsim, I am now using larger or a bit faster aircraft. My 3 favorites are the Aeroworx B200,the PMDG 737 , and the one I usually fly on Vatsim the Flight 1 ATR. Now here is my question, does anyone else besides me feel more comfortable flying the same aircraft all the time, rather than switching from one to the other? With the GA aircraft, it wasn't really too much of a problem, since the cockpits are all rather simple. The more complex aircraft seem not to be as easy to switch from one to the other. I thought it was interesting to see the link on the the MS Fligthsim website to feature information about the new boeing 787. If you go to the link the images look like a 3D cockpit that you would see in Flight Sim. Hummmmmmm????If not it was still pretty cool looking.http://www.newairplane.com/default.html

I no longer have the 3D preview of planes when I am in the "Select Plane" menu in FS. I have no problem selecting planes and everything loads up and flys just fine. It's just that the preview box as the bottom of the select screen stays black when I click on a plane. No big deal, but any ideas? Thanks in advance.Tony=http://www.flightsim-bevs.com]

Tom,I have been using AVSIM since its inception. Without question it is the premier flight simulation site. I have watched you deal with wanna-be ACLU types screaming for total freedom of expression despite their almost total lack of understand of the law and private property. I saw that it almost drove you to the brink of pulling the plug.This site exists from your excellent management. I hope Sperry understands this as well ($$). Probably the wrong place for this (if so, my apologies). I just got done making a donation to the local Red Cross for relief efforts for those affected by Hurricane Katrina. Even so, I still feel for those people, and want to at least make some kind of gesture conveying my well-wishes for the victims.A cheesy notion, but I was thinking that Avsim members could make a show of caring by making flights to the affected areas, then use Duenna/flight analysis/equivalent to prove your efforts. I just want to say, that the Level-D sim is amazing, buy it. It has, by far, the best VC i have ever seen, and the realism is astounding. The smaller touches add great realism and you'll be suprised when you get warnings that you shouldn't push back without disconnecting external power..ooops.

I haven't used FS for some time. I recently downloaded and installed some scenery improvements from SurClaro.On running FS this evening I found that Rod Machado's voice, in the Lessons section, was very chopped whereas it used to be ok.I can't imagine that the recent downloads/installations can be the cause, but you might know different?What might be the cause and what can I do about it? If I have to, I will re-install FS9.

No wonder I dont fly online in Europe much. The availability for charts SUCK!

PSS has the best with a VC, although its very dated compared to the newest releases. Basically Airbuses are more complicated and some things such as fly-by-wire cannot be done in flight sim. As an example, in the real airbus if you decrease thrust, your airplane does not descend, I don't think anyones figured out how to do this in MS yet

Hello guysI have a problem with the default DC-3There is no way that I can generate the touchdown sound included in the sound.cfg no matter how hard I land (I often crashed the plane and at that point it generates the crash noise!!!).The only noise I ear is the rumble of the ground roll.I never modified the plane, is defauls as delivered from Microsoft (plane and sound) and files are in the right place, everything is in order.Is it maybe a bug in the plane itself?? Can I correct it??? Maybe i can learn how to do it in case i find other aicraft with the same problem.Thank you for your answer!!!Regards

...on my x36, I was able to assign buttons to this device and get it to work as a hatch switch. It became my flaps control - would love to duplicate that, but I can't see how to make this act as a hat switch, even though the manual says it can. The only options in the SST are for 'axis' or 'bands'Help appreciated.

How is it. I am seriously considering it, but the "VERY" bad FPS I have read about is hampering me. How bad is it?My system is:p4 3.0ghz1.5gb pc3200 ram256mb geforce 6800I run the PMDG 747 at 30 fps at some, and about 20-25fps at large airports.Thank you!

Browsing through the file library today, I noticed a new version of AISmooth so I downloaded and installed it, placed both files in the modules folder as recommended. Launched FS and now get a message saying that AISmooth is not allowed to access a unregistered copy of FSUIPC. I made sure I have the latest version of FSUIPC (3.5), reinstalled AISmooth and still no luck, anyone else having this issue? I had no problems using an older version of AISmooth.

I was getting ready to fly out of KLAX when I noticed these white squares between some trees along a road. I am using the default scenery. Not sure if these are more trees or signs. Hi folks.Had a lot of problems during last few days flying merged PSS - iFDG A3XXX. See my other thread http://forums.avsim.net/dcboard.php?az=sho...70494&mode=fullNow, this morning i make a short test flight using default PSS A320 and had same results as for merged planes!?!The plane keeps going up and down from 5960 to 6040 fts and pitch up until, on short final i loose glideslope.Forgotten to mention i fly using MCDU so fuel, balance, flaps settings and other values are full automatic.If it also happens with default PSS A320 what else should i do for troubleshooting?
