Hi there to all,I was reading some threads here and something just struck me as odd;How long does it take you to set-up a flight; say one when you are trying to be a little more realistic. Say a flight for Vatsim or a 2 hour flight or more.I'm talking here eveything from flight planning to take-off.Just wondering. For me it takes about 30 mins or more; How long does it take you guys?Peter

Hi. Although new to FS2004, I am not new to simming having used FLY2 over the last few years and not new to flying having held a New Zealand PPL with ratings in 4 single engine small aircraft My favourate was the Cessna 150 Aerobat having spent many hours trying to perfect the basic aerobatic manouvers. I am retired now and had to let my PPL lapse some years ago mainly due to cash. An airline captain said that if you want a cheap way to fly get a simulator. My requirements in a simulator are realism and excellent flight modelling. (As close to the real thing). I use CH products Yoke and peddles and prefer to do the full flight check list instead of Ctrl E. I use the vir…

Did everyone ever notice that the ILS for 36L (FSATC: 1L, why?) at EHAM is missing? I guess, because there is no "center" runway in FS9ATC that it automatically assumes that 36C is 36L.I got an FS9ATC approach onto 1L and the ILS (I guess it was 111.95) was dead. 36C worked fine. One more reason to look forward to RCv4 ;-)

Something I just noticed at the SimFlight Website....Cloud9 is doing a Boston Logan Airport...is this nuts or what!!! (Again!) :-(George Grimshaw of FlyTampa fame did a fantastic freeware version...he even has plans to upgrade this with new terminals; so why does Cloud9 even think there is a need for a payware version. Let's concentrate on US airports which where done poorly (old modeling techniques, etc) like LAX, JFK, DFW, etc...:-hmmm Please not another Boston Logan...can someone convey this message to them, please...their going to waste a lot of time and effort for marginal rewards and money!

What on earth am I doing wrong. I've tried the instructions. I've tried CNTRL + E. All I get is the prop spinning for a few revolutions before it gives up!

Greetings, When an aircraft manufacture posts on their website that the range of an aircraft is XXXX nm, at xxx knots, at what altitude are they talking about? For example, the Gulfstream G550 has an Range of 6,750NM, at a cruise speed of 459 KTS. Is there a set altitude that aircraft companies test their aircraft for maximum range? Thanks J.R. Duda

Hi allI've recently started using Windows XP x64. Getting along just fine with it.The only add-on I'm having a problem with is is EZ Landmark. Basically, it simply won't install under x64.I know it's only a simple program but it forms part of my staple diet of flying light over the UK photoscenery and is absolutely invaluable to me.Does anyone know of either a way to get it working or whether there's a different add-on, doing more or less the same job, available somewhere? Many thanks!

Having installed recently the PMDG 747 I created a saved situation flight. This was a full airways flight on auto with VNAV engaged. All went well until past the TD point when the programme crashed to desktop. This was a recent aquisition so I imagine already incorporating the mini patch.Ok off to PMDG with my problem but for one strange thing!I thought the flight and situation was quite interesting so to complete loaded my trusty Level D 767 at the start of the saved situation changing the 747 for the Level D 767.I then programmed the 767 FMC with the SID enroute and destination STAR as per the 747 flight all went well until on descent on VNAV when crash to desktop.I have…

For some reason, when i loaded up Flight Simulator one time, I found out that every time i was flying, my screen went into slow motion and at the top in red, it said AIRCRAFT STRESS!!On the ground, if i hit a plane while maneuvering I get AIRCRAFT CRASH!!!I am finding this really irritating and it starting to tick me off. Any idea what this is? Where can i find it?Thanks for your help. :)

To everybody in the FSCommunity, my apologies. For the second time BirdsEyeView website has exceeded it's daily alloted bandwidth in spite of the fact that I thought we had taken all necessary precautions to elliminate this problem. With over 150,000 hits since the start of the day and with many folks downloading the much smaller videos that we had posted it appears that we quickly burned up bandwidth. Of course this is offered only as an explaination and not an excuse. My hope is that you'll be patient and bear with us. www.flightsim-bevs.com will be back on line a little after 12 midnight Pacific Time.Again, my apologies...Stephen R SteverDeveloperBirdsEyeViewadmin@flig…

I was getting frequent crashes and computer reboots and out of memory messages.so i installed the FS9.1 patch last week and it seems to have fixed the problem.I have been dubious about intalling it as I have read so many posts about people having problems after installing it. It installed with no problems on my system and i have got loads of addons installed and have not had any crashes since installed it.Wish id done it ages ago now.Doesnt show any visual improvement but seems to make FS more stable.Just thought i'd let you know my experiences as all the negative remarks puts you off.

Last week there was an item in the AVSIM news about new topo scenery for New Zealand http://www.redbarent.com/nztopo-overview.htm. Haven't seen anyone comment on this yet, so here are some screenshots I made this afternoon: http://www.flickr.com/photos/15748845@N00/tags/nztopo/show/ These are not all high art: main goal this afternoon was just to check out features of the new topo scenery, such as accurate roads, water features, and bridges. Admittedly, much of this is obscured, either by picturesque haze or gorgeous, volumetric clouds. Can you tell I was having a blast? Screenshots were taken over the central part of the North Island, between New Plymouth and Great Barr…

Gentlemen:First off, I appologize if this has been discussed in the past. Is it me or are the trees too big in FS2004? It just doesn't seem right. Your flying at any given altitude, you look down and the trees are larger than a 6 lane highway. It ruins the immersion factor IMO. Is there any way to make trees more realistic in terms of size? I wish someone could figure this out. Anyways, thoughts anyone?RegardsTim

Hello friends...:(All the airports in Spain & Portugal have vanished. Now the airport *perimeters* are present but the taxiways, runways & buildings are gone:This is Madrid :( Thats a very lost Iberia A340 in the middle...http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v630/Thr...cr001Custom.jpgSatellite-view:http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v630/Thr...cr000Custom.jpgI would like to extract the airport data from the FS9 CDs. Would any of you know:1. The names of the files I would need to fix the airports in Spain & Portugal2. On which CD they would be located?3. Where to extract them to (FS9/scenery?)Spain & Portugal are the only places affected which is why I am tryin…

Hi,I've downloaded a addon ship to play with my hellos but I'm having some problems installing it. I have a directory with two subfolders (Scenery and Texture) and a file named Scenery.dat. I put it in my main FS folder and add it in that scenery listing menu. Then I go search it at the airports list and it's there but when the flight starts it doesn't show up, although the aircraft doesn't sink. Am I missing something? Grateful, Daniel Coradi

Hi - I'm looking for either a light plane (Cessna type prop job) or a small jet which has the level of attention to detail as the PMDG big jets for use in FS9. What do you recommend (with links please if possible).I don't mind either payware or freeware.CheersRickp.s. Lots of different liveries for any of the above would be nice to have too.

Hey,Does anyone know why I would not have blurries in the cockpit (even when I hide the panel) and in the virtual cockpit, but when I switch to spot plane view all of the textures not immediately beneath me are blurry?Thanks.http://www.kthxdone.com/images/kw_ft.jpgKen Weik [link:maam.org|MAAM-SIM][link:library.avsim.net/search.php?CatID=root&SearchTerm=kenneth+weik&Sort=Added&ScanMode=0&Go=Change+View]My AFCADs

Hi Everyone and Greetings from Sydney, Australia, I am just in the process of updating my AI traffic (using the F1 Ultimate Traffic schedules) as I have done a number of time over the last few years and find it gets increasingly time consuming as more and better models emerge. I love my traffic and was most thrilled when MS introduced the future back in the days. I was instantly hoping that one day (didn't imagine it would come so soon) we could simulate the worlds airliner traffic within FS. And as we all know today: it can be done! I am a picky fellow and I prefer my models to look good and go easy on my precious frames so I use mainly AI Aardvark, FSPainter, Evolve AI,…

I am trying to find the ops specs for the Mooney Bravo. In the "Learning Center" inside FS9, it only give "general" tips specifically on engine cruise operations. I am trying to find the cruise power setting (charts). From what I can gather it is more turbine inlet temps and rpm than MP, RPM and fuel flow rates. Are there any crusie altitude charts that give specific turbine inlet temp, RPM settings so I can get the best rannge and or performance out of the Moooney? I see that there are only 2 voices included. . . a $70 value. This means that to add extra voices are $35 a pop? How many voices are included with MS2004 ATC? certainly more than 2. Radar Contact has 7 or 8 I think. More than 2 will be a necessity if you're planning anything more than touch and goes from the same airport. You don't want to run into the same ATC at every airport. From the size of the installation it looks to be a separate program maybe on the order of RC3 that is not integrated with stock MS2004 ATC? Would like to have more of an explanation of the interaction.Does this program also work with key-press only ala adventure display or other menu? Not sure…
