Remember when you could adjust the time of day with the clock on the panel? I thought that was neat and quick. Would like to see it again.JimCYWG

I have had a run of bad luck lately. On two occasions now I've come into a situation where the sim crashes to the desktop about a third of the way during the flight load up (after hitting "fly now" - not the initial program load). Meticulus deleting of any add-ons has not helped, and I have been forced to reinstall the sim.So, my question is this. This time around, I left the settings and files from my old install in place using the unistall utility. It has a box where you can tell the program to delete those pieces as well. I also uninstalled all UT programs before uninstalling the sim. Well, after the install, things work well. Even my third party planes like the PMDG …

I've always loved the Falcon 50 and needless to say have been flying it since the update came out. Model is very nicely updated, however, it flies quite differently now. I know people here were talking about tweaking engine performance but I think it's more than that. When I land it goes very nose high with a high speed (about 140 knots) and it still drops fast. (I was carrying only 4 pax and half tanks of fuel). I ended up using the old aircraft.cfg and airfile. With the old files the plane also responses less to control input thus feels heavier.Anyway, just wondering if anyone else feels the same problems.Jason Zhang

Hi all.My boss just asked me a question, because he considers me knowledgeable on things such as this. Thought I better check!!He's talking about flights from Heathrow to Singapore. Apparently BA quote a flight time 90 minutes less than SA.Assuming this is a truthful claim, and not BA marketing hype, what can BA (or any airline for that matter) do to offer such a difference in flight time?Assuming also that the airlines use the same Airways, and I can't see SID's and STAR's making much, if any, difference?Also assuming that this is time in the air, not ground time.Any comments to make me look good with the boss would be much appreciated.CheersTim

Hello everybody,I was landing the PMDG 738ng at Shiphol airport, and both the FMC and Radar Contact 3.1 told me to tune 110.10 for the ILS 18R. But when going to the Map-view in the menu, there was only a rwy19 with the freq: 109.50.Do I have to update MSFS2004's navdata, if so how and where? I have looked at Navdat.at but couldn't find anything.thanx,Balooba

Folks, Office Depot (USA) has the Palm Zire 21 PDA for $60 with a $20 rebate. There is a lot of Palm Aviation software that can run on the 8 mb mono Zire 21. While it does not directly connect to FS9, you can use the PDA for checklists, logbooks, navigation calculations, and more. Lots of freeware stuff out there. It's more realistic when flying low tech GA planes to use a Palm. At $40, and using freeware, it's half the price of dedicated electronic E6B devices. Hey,It's been a while since I sat down and pumped out an AFCAD (well, I did FlySeattle but that's different... sort of.) Are there any airports that you (as a community) feel that should be updated? I'll take a few requests and probably do a few that I want to. Right now, I'm not sure what I'll do, but I know there has to be something that someone wants done. I have been unable to find out how to contact the author - maybe someone here can help.After a major crash I've basically had to reinstall everything. But I can't reinstall FS Realtime!! It keeps telling me to uninstall it first, but the entire directory is already gone, and I can't find anywhere else on my computer that it makes any reference at all to it.Can someone help me with this?ThanksRick [email protected]

I seem to be having trouble converting Eric Dantes De Havilland DHC-6 (dhc-6_caf_nez_court.zip) to FS2004 using the conversion file all_dhc-6.zip.I downloaded the main file and copied it to my FS9 Aircraft folder.I then copied the contents of the Panel folder in all_dhc-6.zip to the original Panel folder.Then I copied the MDL files in the folders nez court+ski and nez court (both contained in all_dhc-6.zip ) to the original folders model.nez court and model.nez court skis - I changed the "xxx" to show "DHC-6".However, when I try to select the aircraft in FS9, nothing appears in the small 3d view box.I know I'm probably doing something wrong but I can't see what.

Why is it that there is not attention paid to modelling cocpit windows? This vital part of all cockpits, both 2D and 3D, are left blank, transparent? Sure windows are transparent, but most have reflection off them, and residue build up. I feel if there could be a reflection off the windows or something to show that the window is actually THERE in front of you the cockpit would be more realistic. Instead the designers never seem to model anything leaving the Flight sim experience lacking a bit.Some aircraft have heating elements modelled into the window giving the flyer a better sence of there being glass seperating the cockpit from the outside environment.

What do you guys use:Flight Sim Manager or Flight Sim Autostart?I haev been using the Autostart for about a year now and have liked it (unless FS crashes, then I don't like it much) But, recently I've been messing with FLight Sim Manager and I'm digging the voice command stuff. Is there anyway you can combine the 2 app's? I'd like to be able to kill all the extra stuff thats running when I start FS9, but I also like the extra things FSM can do.What do you all use?Dondo

I had to reload FS9. Trying to get all the tweaks set. I'm having one problem, ie: say i'm starting a flight at the gate go through my check lists, taxi and take off. The problem I have is once I start flying and switch views, from cockpit, to any other view, the first view I see, for just a second, is the cockpit view on the ground at the gate were I first started out. Like I said it only shows for a second then goes to the the correct view. Hope I made some sense of my problem. Any idea's, Thanks , Bob
