Hi guys...just found some neat video of the new Honda developed and powered light business jet. Pretty cool considering the all new Honda jet engines, and the fact that it was tested 20 miles from my house. I thought I saw it last year overhead...anyway, check it out or disregard if old!First flight video:http://world.honda.com/HDTV/news/2003-c031216_2a/Longer, later test:http://world.honda.com/HDTV/HondaJet/200408long/Hope you enjoy them!

Pioneering a/c designers.I refer to the likes of Jerry Arzdorf, Mike Hill, Michael Guerzka, another Hill several more whose names escape me at the moment. These people are largely responsible for the huge and continued success of MSFS but they all seem to have vanished from the scene post FS98.Who knows, I believe they should be acknowleged.Anyone know?

Let us assume that ATC issues an instruction to fly to a Waypoint that is not currently in the Flight Plan.If the co-pilot incorrectly inputs that instruction into the FMD I assume that the Captain is responsible. How does he guard against the possiblity of a slip of this nature?Cliff

In rare instances in the UK there may be a news report that mentions such and such airline had a near miss with so and so airline. The report may go on to say, for example, they missed by 300 feet. I was just wondering if these distances are guessimates or whether the aircraft or ground radar has equipment that can measure distances from other aircraft with accuracy?Victor

OK, I've written here about how we pilot types are generally smarter than the average bear but I'll have to exclude myself for a while and here's why. Oh, I wouldn't admit this to anyone but you guys here at AVSIM.Last year we got my wife an Hyundai Santa Fe SUV. Nice but underpowered IMHO. Anyway, I've always done the routine maint on our vehicles and the Hyundai was no different. I'd already performed two oil/filter changes and it was due again. I got my boxend and filter wrench and wriggled underneath. Pulled the drain plug and got about 2-1/2 qts out of it, another 3/4 qt from the filter. Strange, only 3-1/4 qts drained out. Not that unusual though.I poured in five qt…

At the end of part one of the Survivor Finale, host Jeff Probst is shown getting into a Twin Otter in the South Pacific. A "cute" graphic then shows the Twin Otter moving across a map to Honolulu, then on to So Cal, where the intrepid Mr. Probst is shown jumping out of the aircraft.I know the Twin Otter is a great aircraft, but trans pacific range? Only in Hollywood :)-John

Hey folks... hope things are going well for ya :)I hope you dont mind but I just wanted to share my thoughts on the Flight1 Cessna 172RI just bought the 172R. At first, I was thinking to myself... I paid $25 for this? For a little 4 seat Cessna? I wonder if it would be stupid to ask for a refund. It had a good first impression... it just didnt explode off the screen as a real prince of an aircraft as the bigger, faster, more complex birds do, such as my Aeroworx B200. So thats why at first I was like, I paid this much for what? Then I spent some real quality time with it... For the first time, I think, I actually left the autopilot completely alone and practiced procedure…

Ok, I don't mean to sound condescending to anyone (I'm not pointing out anyone in particular), but I notice whenever somebody asks a technical question, several people jump in who all say they are correct (myself included). I just participated in another thread where this happened. So I want to know- how much do you really know? I've devised a question here that really can't be answered with an internet search- you have to know what you are talking about to answer it correctly (it's a devious one). Please keep in mind, I was a MS instructor, so I don't pretend to know everything, but I do know quite a bit about OS's and networks. Also keep in mind any REAL Cisco or …

Is this true? I read on a swedish news paper so no point to link to it that News scientists has reported about Pentagon meaning to develop a sex bomb. A bomb that would make enemy soldiers temporarily mad of lust of eachother and so kill morale.US airforce laboratory in Dayton Ohio wanted 50 million dollar to develope it.The laboratory also wanted fundings to create a drug that would make bees crazy and attack enemy positions :D Another one would make guerilla soldiers smell so bad so they couldn

Well, I got this in my inbox today:"We welcome all Discovery Wings viewers to join us when the Military Channel launches on January 10, 2005. While we deeply appreciate your loyalty to the network, we believe the transition to the Military Channel is a natural step in the evolution of Discovery Wings that will allow us to tell great stories through a much broader topic. Hi Everyone,I don't know if this is the right forum to post in, but i'll give it a try.I'm currently in the process of developing an experimental flight simulator. It is still at an early state and i thought you guys would comment on it.I've written a bunch of articles on my blog about the making of this sim and all the problems i've been facing. You can read them and watch the videos here :http://msdn.labtech.epitech.net/Blogs/matt...5.aspx?Show=AllScreenshots on the gallery :http://msdn.labtech.epitech.net/Blogs/matt/gallery/52.aspxThe sim features are very limited for now but i find that the most important part, the flight model, is quite convincing. For those who want m…

Aloha,This photo is proof that Great White Sharks are in Hawaiian waters. This photo was taken on January 4, 2005 in 40 feet of water at Reef's End, Molokini, Maui. The animals length is estimated at 14 feet. The photo was taken by an unidentified customer on B&B Scuba's dive boat. My sister stopped in at B&B Scuba on Monday, Jan 10 and verified the incident. I am going out there for my 2 weeks vacation on the 22nd, and will avoid diving Molokini crater! I will try to get some good heavy jet photos at the approach end of rwy 2.:-) http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/103344.jpg

Hey all;If you havn't heard, Discovery is changing their Discovery Wings channel to the Military Channel, meaning there will no longer be any commercial aviation channels and programming on television. Please go to this site (http://extweb.discovery.com/viewerrelations) and protest this change. For all of us who have great interest in commercial aviation, please go to that site.Thank You!

In the real world, is there some reason that external power has to be connected before the APU can be started? Is it incorrect to view the aircraft like a car, battery cranks the starter (APU) and APU then recharges the battery? Thanks,Joe
