Hey folks... I have a website of my own, and I would like to have a simple file library of some kind so that me and my friends can upload and download files without having to go through a whole big deal or using FTP programs. I'd like to just be able to go onto my site, have an interface to select a file to upload, and it would automatically show up on a download page for download. Anyone know how I would do that?

It is a natural evolution of capitalism. A market is discovered. Early adopters profit handsomely, but the competition is fierce.Market pressures force change. Things pan out. The strongest survives.Economics 101.JUST my humble opinion.bt

The following comes from Flight1's web site:* An additional level of security relies on your e-mail address. Your e-mail address is critical in that it acts as the official point of contact for you to receive information, and maintain your Key status. This is because unlike previous versions of the wrapper, the key will automatically become disabled after a certain amount of accesses. But this is no big deal as long as your e-mail address is valid, because you can reactivate your disabled key automatically via a link we will send to your e-mail account (after you use the automated key re-activation link at flight1.com) *Do I read this correctly - that every so often I wil…

Hi AllJust drinking coffee and reading my Chicago newspaper....two stories caught my eyes.First one is the City of Chicago using "Airport Development Fund" money to clean-up what is left of Meigs Field (moment of silence). Anybody else see the irony in that....(FAA didn't, investigation continues over the diversion of funds....)Second was the lead story on how a wounded soldier can go from battlefield in Iraq to hospital operating room in Germany in 10 hours. Lots of dedicated personnel, rotors and wings making that happen.I'm sure both stories are floating around on the web....Tim__757

Those of you who develop software will appreciate this email one of my programmers forwarded to me. It often rings true, at least in my shop and I suspect it rings true our hobby as well when those new add-on projects go through their due diligence:~ A Client is a person who knows that it takes a man, a woman & nine months to deliver a baby. ~ A Developer is a person who thinks a single woman cannot deliver a baby in nine months. ~ A Project Manager is a person who thinks nine women can deliver a baby in one month. ~ An Onsite Coordinator is a person who thinks a single woman can deliver nine babies in one month. ~ A Marketing manager is a person who thinks I can del…

Since I privately publish software and have worked for companies that do the same for most of my career, I found this interesting:http://www.cnn.com/2004/TECH/biztech/12/14...reut/index.htmlI don't think it would fly, but if it ever did, does anyone have any thoughts on the impact it would have on our hobby? On freeware? Payware?-John

Thought I would ask a few questions and make a few comments that have come to mind after seeing this reporting *tool*. What protection is there for people falsely reported, say, someone with a "grudge" or whatever reason "reports" someone through this system? If false reporter Joe simmer says person A has a warez copy of payware bill's super bird, will person A now have to produce a reciept on an accuser's accusation alone? How exactly does bill go about esablishing what person A has to begin with? What if person A had his wife purchase or uses another (fake name) in the community for privacy? Does person A need a lawyer before talking with bill's lawyer? What if person …

without going into a long drawn out discussion from me but i can if i need to, we need to think twice before bashing microsofts flight simulators, all versions. stand back and take a good hard look first. could the problems or difficulties possibly be us instead of fs9? fs9 is MORE than just an addon aircraft. way back when there was only 4 areas in the flight world, new england, s. calif., seattle and miami i think. you couldn't fly between any of them or from one to the other. only in one of those areas and that was it. at the time it was top of the line. we've got the whole world now and a few airports too along with a good many aircraft and other things. i guess micr…

Taking under consideration with the present MSFS FS9/2004 platform and its limitatations WHAT IS THE MOST YOU WILL SPEND ON A THIRD PARTY Model and panel as well as scenery. With the recent offering that being Dreamfleet 727 and ATR which is comanding a $34.95 price.....Wilco is asking $39.95 for the ERJ and $29.95 for the CRJ, I remember just a year ago $24.95 was a standard price. Scenery is now creeping into the +++$25.00 area and is frame rate intensive. Is there a limit to what you will spend on Flightsim extras.Anyone want to hedge a virtual bet that the PIC 767v2 and the PMDG 747 will command a mid $40.00 price.

Before I issue a complaint here are my bona fides: a one time PPL many years ago (don't ask :-) ), but pre family and kids. Started simming right away with SubLogic/Bruce Artwick and a 286 which should date me well. While not a professional in computing, I do use computing extensively in my professional field (science) and have been associated with computers in terms of programming, etc. since the paper tape era (again dating myself). The past 8 years were spent with x-plane and FLY. A new computer this past summer switched me back to MSFS which I have found to have finally lived up to its initial promise. No real issues here. My complaint: where is the quality contro…

I really enjoyed the videos available here:http://www.trikepilot.com/Whether you like Ultralights or not it's worth watching 1 or 2 of the videos. You can't deny that it looks like fun :) I also bought the book "America From 500 Feet" by Bill Fortney (he has some videos on the site) - well worth it if you like photography.

I have been everywhere last year, and not flightsimming, but something has to go from my hearth, (now hen I am back to business) is that at most flightsim forums people behave nicely, friendly, helpfull and patiently. On other "game" (I cant and will never call Flightsim a game!, it s sim) forums you often see trolls, persons who think they invented the game, those who know it all, and so on.In our world the captains who simulate a flight are all like a real airline captain, a person of guidance, relaxed, helpfull and euh.. like a captain. The exeptions rapidly fade away. :-)There is a special bond between us, hard to explain, but we approach each other like captains, and t…

Way off topic, but important enough to inform those who are interested.Tonight 1st December 2004, the royal prins of the Netherlands, Prins Bernhard has died. He died of several complications under which long cancer. The prins was 93 years old, but a huge aviation fan. He played an important role during the second World War, and became infamous from the Lockhead affaires. Next to this he flew several flights himself and was very much in love with the African regions. But overall he was a good father of our queen Beatrix and for the Netherlands itself. For those who are interested, there are several condolance sites, e.g. www.condoleance.nl.Regards, Ferry Spaanwww.fsmagazi…

A Coast Guard HH-60 Jayhawk crashed while attempting to hoist the last crew members off of a drifting container ship north of Unalaska island in the Aleutian islands. The weather is horrific at the time and the Vessel broke apart. The Helo had 10 people on it with 4 survivors being picked up by an HH-65 from the Coast Guard Cutter ALEX HAILEY... The search continues for the other 6 people.Thoughts and prayers go out to the Crew, families, and Airstation Kodiakfly safeDave in AlaskaUSCG ( Retired)

Actor Morgan Freeman Grounded by FAA for Busting Altitude Regs. Apparently he was flying into Teterboro and was cleared down to 3000, but instead looked at the approach plate and cleared himself down to 2000. Oops...Article doesn't say how long he's grounded for though.Hey at least they didn't send him back to Shawshank. I heard that place is rough... :-)That is one of my favorite movies though.Regards,JoeRest of story found here:http://www.wokr13.tv/entertainment/story.a...18-22EEF76AE40AExcerpt"Movie star Morgan Freeman's flying dreams have been dealt a severe blow - he has been grounded by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) for breaking altitude rules. The 'Dr…
